The Golden Key Henley is a charming upstairs retreat just moments from the sea. It’s the sort of space that gently wraps around you — cosy, inviting, and a little sentimental — the way only a home with stories within its walls can. With polished floorboards, curated vintage pieces, and splashes of golden hues, this apartment feels like stepping into a modernised beachside classic.
Tucked within the coastal hub of Henley Beach, it’s the ideal spot to unwind after a walk along the esplanade or a sunset drink at Henley Square. With a flexible layout including a separate study that doubles as a second lounge or bedroom, this home offers a little extra breathing room for couples, small families, or friends seeking a relaxed coastal escape.
The Space:
Inside, you’ll find a home that feels instantly familiar; the kind of place that welcomes you with a quiet sense of comfort, like a warm hug from a favourite grandparent.
Warm timber floorboards stretch through the living areas, softened by the glow of lamps and rich tones of caramel leather lounges. It’s an inviting space that encourages you to slow down, pour a glass of wine, curl up with a book, or simply listen to the hum of the neighbourhood drifting in through the windows.
Touches of nostalgia sit alongside modern comforts: vintage finds, colourful cushions, and pieces that feel lovingly collected rather than styled. Every detail has a story, and together they create a space that feels familiar, like visiting a much-loved family home by the coast.
You’ll find:
- 1 x Queen bedroom with soft carpet, built in wardrobe, occasional chair and decorative fireplace (not for use)
- Separate study/lounge (with optional double sofa bed - $30 fee applies), Smart TV, and desk
- Bathroom with triangular bath and shower overhead — perfect for a soak after a day by the sea
- Living area with a deep brown leather lounge, Smart TV, and decorative fireplace (not for use)
- Kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, fridge, toaster & kettle
- Reverse-cycle air conditioning keeps the temperature in check throughout the apartment (unit located in the living area)
- Board games and books for relaxed evenings
- washing machine and clothes airer in bathroom
- Free Wi-Fi and Smart TVs (BYO streaming accounts)
Please note: This apartment is located on the second floor, accessed via a short flight of stairs (approx. 10 steps).
Guest Access:
The property is conveniently and thoughtfully set up for a easy self check-in. The entire apartment is all yours during your stay. Single carport (for your use only) is located at the rear of the building, with easy access from the apartment, via the second back entrance.
The Neighborhood:
Henley Beach Road Precinct is just 150 metres away from the apartment, and features grocery shopping and restaurants. Henley Square Precinct is also very close, just 650 metres away, with plenty of local businesses to choose from, including retail, icecream, pubs, cafes & restaurants. Foodies are really spoiled for choice here, so reward yourself with a fabulous coffee, a glass of wine or a meal in one of the many interesting cafés or restaurants, ranging from casual to formal dining.
Getting Around:
You can walk to almost everything you need here. Buses are also easily accessible, with a stop on the main road just out front of the apartment block, you can catch the express bus into the city.
Other Things to Note:
- Please note that the study/second bedroom is accessed via a door through the main bedroom. This setup works well for families or close friends, but may not suit all privacy preferences.
- If you’d like use of the sofa bed and bedding, please let us know asap prior to your arrival so we can have it ready for you. The Sofabed will either be fully made up (time permitting), or alternatively, we’ll provide access to the bedding for guests to make up yourself upon arrival. **Please note: If you have already booked for 3 or 4 guests, the sofabed fee will be automatically included in your booking total. An additional $30 fee will otherwise applies when sofabed is requested separately for 2 guests only.
- The apartment building itself is an old girl, circa 1920s. Whilst she is a little run down to look at from the outside, please don't be misled by the exterior, as she makes up for her older appearance with the beautifully styled interior and the fantastic location.
- Access to the apartment is by stairs only (approximately 10 steps)
- The property is strictly non-smoking, including all outdoor areas within the building perimeter.
- A Portacot is also available for use in the property free of charge. Some baby bedding inclusive, however we recommend to BYO bedding to ensure you have everything you need.
- We supply enough toilet rolls and other consumables for the average stay, however please note for longer stays, and depending on your usage, you may need to purchase more. 1 towel is provided per guest.
- For extended stays over 21+ nights, mid-stay servicing is required for the upkeep of the property. We will notify you when this is due to occur
