Large cottage good for a big group. On a quiet lake so was quite peaceful. We enjoyed our stay, but the VRBO listing omits many details, such as there being a bunkhouse with two beds and a bathroom, and a fire pit. We arrived at 6pm on our check-in day and the cleaner was still inside. She told us that she had been told we weren't arriving until the next day. This was after we had communication issues with the host, who did not provide check-in instructions and was unresponsive until 5 hours before our check-in time. The host also told us we weren't allowed to have a fire because of a fire ban in the township, which was not true (June 12, 2026). There were many issues that make this property hard to call "luxurious". There were no handles or screens on the sliding doors, and there was no ceiling light in one of the bedrooms, with wires hanging loose. We had to wash all the plates, bowls, cutlery, pots and pans as they were all dirty when we arrived. There was no baking trays which made using the oven to cook nearly impossible. There was also no paper towel, aluminum foil, or cleaning products, except for a bathroom spray and a used sponge. Floors were also very dirty and all we could find was a broom. We also did not have enough toilet paper for the 3 days for our group of 12. We also had privacy concerns as the listing did not disclose that there are camera's on the property, and the host was checking them (they reached out about the cars in the driveway).
