Terry and Michael's cottage in the garden was beyond what we expected. Nestled amongst the lush tropical plants on the hill side. To the amazing ocean view.The check in was very personable and accommodating. The location was super peaceful, and the cottage had all you needed to feel comfortable and at home.It was a great stay during our trip to Hana.Would definitely recommend to all travelers.

Secluded and private with spectacular view of the ocean from high on a mountain within a jungle. Hosts were super kind and helpful. It was not the cleanest place we have stayed in, but not the worst. Bed was two twins together to make the king.This is an absolute, must experience place. Setting cannot be beat.

We loved staying at the cottage! It was so nice to be back -- we stayed there many years ago on our honeymoon. The cottage is private and has a beautiful view. The property is truly a gem, full of incredible, gorgeous flowers and trees. And the host is lovely, too, with wonderful stories and suggestions. We highly recommend staying here.

Second visit to this amazing place. It allows me to connect with the world around me and to find peace with no distractions. The views are unreal and just taking them in is a spiritual experience. Terry and Michael are awesome, and the fresh eggs they bring are the worlds finest. Bring some groceries, and if you want a quiet, relaxing getaway in paradise, you are set! We chose to experience the Road to Hana at a leisurely pace, and discovering this beautiful cottage was one of the highlights of our trip. Terry welcomed us warmly and introduced us to the property's lush gardens. Her genuine passion for gardening and her deep appreciation for Maui are evident throughout the property and made our stay feel especially meaningful.The cottage was peaceful and comfortable, with stunning views that were hard to leave behind. The comfortable bed ensured we slept soundly after the day's adventures.One of our favorite memories, though, was meeting the charming orange cat, "Catman." He greeted us from the porch and seemed delighted to accompany us as we explored the grounds, making him the perfect unofficial host.This was a wonderful place to stay, and we would gladly return on a future visit to Maui.

My son and I absolutely loved this place. It was adorable and had everything we needed. The gardens were amazing, animals so much fun and the view........ The only bad thing was we only booked one night. Given you are in the middle of the Hana Highway - which is incredible with all its waterfalls, beaches, and hikes - it is a good stop so you don't have to travel too far to take in all the HH has to offer. If I am ever on Maui again I will definitely go back.

We stayed while the storm was passing through, I believe this was the only place on the road to Hana which had power and water as they are self suffiecient. The gardens were gorgeous and Michael and Terry were very good hosts. The location was exactly as described in the listing.

Loved the stay here and would definitely go back. The cottage is maintained very well and I don’t remember the last time I had hosts that were as welcoming and warm as Terry and Michael. We discovered that our little daughter loves cats as she bonded with Cat here - beautiful memories!

Perfect experience to end our stay on Maui. In the rainforest/exotic plant/farm way of living. Terry and Michael should be guides for us all, in sustainably practices. Waking to the chirping birds, fresh eggs, walks in the gardens, scents of beautiful flowers/plants. Natural nourishment for our senses and souls. Cannot explain by words, one must experience it. (Clean minimalist cottage with all the amenities including much appreciated laundry). Hope to be back someday. Mahalo.

This was our second stay at Terry's wonderful cottage. We can't recommend this place enough. The cottage's setting is nestled in the trees overlooking the blue waters off of the Hana coast. Privacy and serenity are what this place is all about. It's the perfect home base for exploring this side of the Island without the rush. Lots of extras are included like beach chairs, coolers, towels etc. We will return!

Such a lovely and peaceful place! Everything we needed was there. Comfortable bed, all bathroom amenities supplied and resident outdoor kitty named “Cat” was the icing on the cake. • Michael Kristiansen, born in South Africa, has a degree in Landscape Architecture, Park Administration, Ornamental Horticulture, and is a Certified Arborist.
Michael is a consultant in landscape management and horticulture, runs workshops in tropical horticulture, pruning, mulching, composting, docent training, and staff training. He is the past Director of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens and a long-time teacher at UCLA Extension in Landscape Architecture, Gardening and Horticulture.
• Terry Kristiansen, manager of Entabeni Cottage, has worked with Michael for the past 53 years of their marriage and shares his love of nature, the tropics, and their 6.25 acre flower farm on Maui.
We share our lives with our two sons and their families, plus one dog, four cats, and a flock of chickens and free range guinea fowl. We grow flowers, fruit and vegetables. We offer fresh eggs and vegetables to our guests.
