Welcome to The Train House, a slice of Kyoto in the heart of Mount Pleasant. Our home features open-plan living, high-end kitchen complete with two island benchtops, butlers pantry, fireplace, ducted aircon throughout, outdoor dining with a Japanese garden and waterfall. Ideal for couples or families seeking quiet luxury, where the home is the destination. Spend the afternoons with loved ones in the pool, evenings by the fireplace. Our home is a world class retreat where you won't want to leave.

We are a company that does a lot of travelling so our best means of contact would be either through the app or please email or call us and my team will respond as soon as possible!

Mount Pleasant is a quiet, leafy residential pocket perched above Wollongong, offering a peaceful escape while still being close to everything the Illawarra has to offer. Known for its elevated position and fresh coastal breezes, the area enjoys a relaxed, local feel with beautiful outlooks toward the escarpment and surrounding suburbs.
You’re just a short drive from Wollongong CBD, pristine beaches, coastal cafés, restaurants, and shopping, as well as the University of Wollongong and major hospitals. Nature lovers will appreciate the proximity to walking tracks, parks, and scenic lookouts along the escarpment, perfect for morning walks or sunset views.

From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the calming presence of a Japanese-style garden at the front of the property. A gentle waterfall, curated Japanese Maple trees, and a generous outdoor dining setting for eight create a peaceful atmosphere perfect for morning coffee, shared meals, or simply taking in the serenity. There is a firepit as well by the waterfall, perfect for Winter nights.

Step inside and you’ll find open-plan living spaces bathed in natural light and beautiful original beams. The heart of the home is the high-end kitchen, complete with two spacious island benchtops, Miele appliances, and a fully equipped butler’s pantry; ideal for those who love to cook or entertain or for a dinner party fit for a king! Whether you're preparing a quiet breakfast or hosting a special celebration, the space is designed to make it memorable.

Beyond the kitchen, the home offers three inviting living rooms, each crafted for entertainment. Whether you’re curling up by the fire in the main lounge, unwinding with a book, or gathering for a family game night.

For entertainment, The Train House offers exceptional options for every mood. Enjoy a private cinema room for movie nights, a dedicated games room with a pool table, or retreat to the distinctive whisky room at the front of the house, complete with its own bar (unstocked) and club-style ambience perfect for quiet conversations and evening relaxation.

One of the home’s standout features is the full hair salon, thoughtfully included for wedding preparations, special events, or guests simply wanting to enjoy a professional-grade space for getting ready. It’s especially popular with bridal parties and families preparing for important occasions.

When it’s time to unwind, step outside and refresh in the private pool, ideal for slow afternoons with loved ones, sunny days with the kids, or peaceful solo swims. HOUSE RULES
* Check-in: After 3:00 pm
* Checkout: 10:00 am
* No smoking
* Strictly No parties or events
*Strictly No Schoolies bookings
* Pets are allowed (special requirements are in place for this. Please refer to the additional rules below)

ADDITIONAL RULES
*As per the Short Term Legislation Act 2020 NSW, all guests are required to obey these rules. For extra guests/day visitors, we must be informed for liability purposes.

*In compliance with applicable legislation, we are required to enter a Short Term Rental Agreement with Guests upon booking. This will be sent 2 weeks before check-in.

*This is strictly a no-party property. We do not allow parties/events of any sort. The maximum amount of guests allowed to sleep in this property is TWELVE people, however, we do allow day visitors of up to SIX people. No more than a maximum of EIGHTEEN people are allowed in the property at any given time.

*Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission.

* All children must be monitored at all times around the pond area. The booking holder and their party agree to indemnify Getawayz and the property owner against any accidents leading to injury or death.

*This home is a strictly no-smoking property. If any of our cleaners find any form of cigarette ash, butts or smell cigarettes in the apartment, we could issue a $500 fine.

*This is a domestic residence and we love our neighbours. We do not allow loitering or loud noise outside of the premises or inside of the premises. We ask for minimal noise especially after 9 pm.

*STRA Rules - By booking this home you automatically agree to all the STRA terms and conditions that are applicable to guests. You also agree that if you do break any of the house rules you will be asked to leave and no refund of the unused nightly rates will be returned.

*Check-in/Check-out - We cannot stress enough the importance of checking out on time. Our regular check-in time is after 3 pm and check-out time is before to 10 am. If you wish to have an earlier check-in or later check-out, please reach out to us first. Please note, there may be a charge.

*Pets - We are a pet-friendly property. However we only allow pets weighing up to 10kg. We ask all our guests to contact us for approval of pets before booking and include your request in the reservation form as there is a pet fee of $110 per stay to cover the cost of extra cleaning and disinfection.
- Please do not allow your pets to go on the furniture.
- Please keep your pets leashed at all times outside as the property is not fully fenced.

*Changing of Dates Terms & Conditions
- Requests to change booking dates may only be accommodated if check-in is more than 1 month away.
- This is subject to approval and we reserve the right to decline any requests.
- Please note that there may be a surcharge to change the dates.
- Any changes to bookings are subject to approval and we ask all guests to reach out to us first.

THINGS TO KNOW:

* Checkin details will be sent either the night before checking in, or the morning of check-in for security reasons.

* We only provide 1 set of keys for each stay. We do not have extra sets.

*Please note, this home has 4 security cameras. All are located on the exterior roofing around the property. Rest assured it does not invade your privacy in any way as it cannot see into the home itself. We just want to make sure that the home is safe as well as any guest that stays here!

*The 2 king beds upstairs can convert into 2 singles. Please let us know upon booking if you wish them to be split.

*The home has 2 full bathrooms and 3 half bathrooms.
