Didn't love the check in process. We had to stop by a management office after driving 7 hours and there was only a 2 hour window to do so. We were told if we were late, we wouldn't be able to check that day. I don't remember reading anything about the road to get to the house in the description. It is long and very windy, at some points it is only one lane. The last 700 feet or so is gravel. If you are a nervous driver or you don't have a 4 wheel drive car - a sports car could not get there, I wouldn't suggest this house. We had the right kind of car so after our first drive up the mountain, we were comfortable with it. It feels very remote but it's just about 15 minutes' drive to shops, attractions and Smoky Mountain National Park. The house was nice, the pots and knives were dirty, pots could use replacing. I think it's hard to police the overall cleanliness of everything single item in the kitchen when you are a VRBO host so we just cleaned everything before use. Other than that the house was in good shape. I wouldn't sit outside at night, there was evidence of bears. However, the game room in the garage can keep you busy all night. There was plenty to keep everyone entertained. We never turned the tv on. Overall enjoyed our visit.
