Acerca de este alojamiento
Legere Legacy in Cape Tormentine NB. Our winterized cottage centrally located.
We have a cozy, smoke-free, pet free, 2 bedroom (+ sofa bed) 4 season cottage set on 10+ acres on the Northumberland Strait in Cape Tormentine, NB. Enjoy the view of the Confederation Bridge as well as sunrises & sunsets from the cottage, deck or cliff side.
Centrally located for all your Maritime sight seeing attractions (1 hour drive to Moncton & a short drive to Nova Scotia or PEI).
No minimum number of nights or cleaning fee. On-going updating of amenities.
In the summertime:
Enjoy the outdoors by using some of the provided outdoor games (such as badminton, volleyball, lawn darts, horseshoes) or bring your own. Bring your kite and take advantage of the winds in the vast open space.
Use the stairs down the cliff to the shore. The stairs may be removed during the winter months, so depending on the weather, stairs may not be reinstalled until late May or early June.
Take a swim in the Northumberland Strait. During low tide, take a walk along the beach as you search for sea glass and sea shells. Or play in the sand. In April-May and October-November, you can legally dig clams . At high tide, fish off the rocks on the beach. Or join the locals at the nearby wharf for fishing. No license is required for fishing in tidal waters. Talk to Terry for advice or assistance in clamming or fishing.
Explore the wooded area on the property. Or take a walk along the lane way and pick wild raspberries and blackberries when in season. Wild strawberries grow in various spots of the open area of the property.
The deck is ideal to sit back and relax with your favourite beverage while you enjoy the view of the Northumberland Strait with PEI across the strait and the Confederation Bridge off to the left. Watch the local fishing boats coming and going to/from the nearby wharf as well as the occasional cruise ship passing by. In addition to the local birds, ducks and geese, you may also spot an occasional seal. Closer views now available from the chairs on the platform leading to the beach stairs. Enjoy watching sunrises and sunsets. On land, you may encounter some of the local wildlife as they explore the property.
Once the sun goes down, spend some time star gazing with the telescope. Or just enjoy being able to see the stars with your own eyes. And then relocate to the fire pit area (if Fire Burn restrictions allow) to enjoy a fire. (Bring your own wood, or purchase bundles from the nearby campground.)
In the wintertime:
Bring your own snowshoes or cross country skis to enjoy the great outdoors. Or go for walks to enjoy the fresh country air.
If you choose to stay indoors, there are books, puzzles and games as well as a TV equipped with several streaming services. To keep you warm, there is the minisplit as well as baseboard heaters and a space heater.
Inside:
The well equipped kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, stove and microwave as well as a drip coffee maker (coffee & filters supplied), Keurig machine (bring your own favourite K-cups), kettle, toaster, blender, air fryer, InstantPot and a variety of pots and pans. The cupboards and refrigerator are stocked with a variety of spices, condiments, sauces and other staple items for guest use, if they so wish. But there is still space for your own food.
The 4 piece bathroom includes a full size jetted tub/shower as well as full size washer and dryer (laundry detergent and anti-static sheets supplied). An abundance of towels and cloths are provided. Soap and shampoo are also available.
Bedding (sheets, comforters, pillows) is provided for the 3 beds: queen, double & sofa bed (opens to double bed). Extra comforters and blankets also available for colder nights.
A TV (with Fire Stick for streaming and Chromecast for casting), DVD player (and small selection of movies) are available as well. A selection of board games, books and jigsaw puzzles are available for evenings and rainy days. Some outdoor games are also available as well as water toys. A printer is connected to the wifi if you have the need to print.
A full size dining room table is available for indoor dining and a picnic table as well as patio table for outside dining. A BBQ (propane gas) & in the summertime, lawn furniture are also available for your outside enjoyment. There is a fire pit, but you will need to bring your own firewood, or purchase from the store at the Cape Tormentine Beach Campground or other nearby establishments.
In addition to the mini-split (providing air-conditioning as well as heat), there are electric baseboard heaters as well as a room heater if the nights or early mornings get chilly (remotes in basket with remotes for media equipment).
In the summertime, a selection of fishing rods will be available on demand for the use of guests. If you are here during legal clamming time, Terry will be able to advise you.
