Acerca de este alojamiento
Luxury 4-bedroom, 3.5 bath waterfront retreat. Hot tub & Chef's Kitchen!
Long Lake Retreat is a newer, fully custom waterfront home where high-end design and true cottage comfort live side by side. It’s the kind of place you settle into quickly: coffee on the deck while the lake stays glassy and quiet, long afternoons on the water, and evenings that end in the hot tub or around the fire with the shoreline lit softly in the background. The home is beautifully furnished with comfortable, upscale pieces, warm reclaimed-wood accents, and a ton of glass—so natural light and lake views are part of almost every moment.
On the main floor, the kitchen, dining, and living spaces flow together in a way that works perfectly for families and groups. The living room is bright and open with large sliding glass doors and expansive windows that pull in light all day and open wide to the outdoors. Step outside and you’re on the large main-floor deck—set up for easy lakeside living with a BBQ and lounge seating that’s made for slow mornings, sunset drinks, and relaxed dinners. Inside, a striking floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with a wood-burning insert gives the space that cozy “cottage at night” feel.
The kitchen is built for real meals and easy hosting—thoughtful, high-end, and functional—so the group can gather while dinner’s on without anyone feeling crowded. Central A/C and strong Wi-Fi keep everything comfortable year-round, whether you’re fully unplugging or mixing in a bit of remote work.
Sleeping is set up to give people privacy without separating the group too much, and every bed is fitted with a Douglas mattress and finished with comfortable, high-quality linens. Bedroom 1 is on the main floor with a king bed, close to a full bathroom and the laundry (perfect for longer stays or families). Also tucked privately behind a cleverly hidden door on the main level is the primary suite (Bedroom 2)—a true retreat with a king bed, a walk-in closet, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake. It also has its own walkout to the main-floor deck, which is a small luxury you’ll use constantly—step out quietly in the morning with a coffee, or take in the view at the end of the day. The ensuite has a spa-like feel, with a walk-in shower, heated floors, and dual sinks, each with a heated mirror and built-in lighting.
Upstairs, you’ll find a second lounge with beautiful lake views—ideal for movie nights, a quieter hangout space, or giving the group a second place to spread out. There’s an oversized sectional, a large Smart TV, and a wet bar with sink and wine fridge/bar fridge that makes evenings feel easy. This level also includes Bedroom 3 with a king bed and a walk-in closet, plus a full bathroom with dual access (you can enter from the entertainment area or directly from the bedroom). This bathroom also features a heated mirror with built-in lighting and a shower/tub combination.
The lower level is true ground level, so it doesn’t feel like a basement—bright, open, and connected to the outdoors. It’s set up for relaxed fun with a rec area, a ping pong table, and a seriously good collection of board games/books for rainy days or slow nights in. The rec room has sliding-door access that makes getting to the hot tub simple, and Bedroom 4 also has its own sliding-door walkout, plus a twin XL over queen bunk and a walk-in closet—a great setup for kids, teens, or a mixed group that likes a little extra separation. This level includes a convenient 2-piece powder room.
Outside is where this place really becomes a “stay.” The large hot tub faces the lake, the firepit is positioned for long, comfortable evenings under the stars, and the property lighting is tasteful at night—warm and understated, not harsh—so the whole space feels calm and elevated after dark. Down at the shoreline, the private dock makes it easy to spend the day swimming, lounging, boating, or exploring the lake chain, and the water is deep off the dock, making it especially great for swimming. Long Lake is part of a scenic two-lake chain, which makes it a great spot for boating and fishing adventures, and the cottage includes two stand-up paddleboards so you can get out on the water and explore at your own pace.
And when you want to pop into town, you’re close enough that it’s effortless—Haliburton is a short drive 15 minute drive for groceries, coffee, bakeries, restaurants, shops, and anything you might need during your stay.
Long Lake Retreat is best suited for guests looking for a peaceful, high-quality getaway. We love hosting families and mature groups.
❄️ Winter Travel Disclaimer & Guest Prep Tips
Travel to, from, and while at the cottage is at the guest’s own risk. During the winter months, road conditions in the Haliburton Highlands can be challenging, and all-wheel drive or 4x4 vehicles are mandatory for safe access.
Please be aware that driveways, decks, steps, and pathways may become slippery or snow-covered. Guests are expected to use caution at all times.
While snow removal is maintained as best as possible, the property owner and its representatives are not responsible for slips, falls, injuries, or accidents (including those resulting in death) related to winter travel or conditions.
That said, the cottage offers a truly magical winter experience — from cozy nights indoors to snow-covered trails and frozen lake adventures. With proper preparation, you’ll be able to enjoy all the beauty and activities the season has to offer.
This is a pet free cottage. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
To help you enjoy your winter getaway safely and comfortably, we recommend bringing:
• 🚙 AWD or 4x4 vehicle for navigating snowy/icy roads.
• 👢 Winter boots with good grip for outdoor areas.
• 🧣 Warm layers & outdoor gear for exploring.
• 🔦 Flashlights or headlamps (days are shorter in winter).
• 🥫 Extra food & essentials in case of heavy snowfall.
• 🪵 Firewood if you’d like to use the outdoor firepit.
