Gorgeous Views & Lake Access!

This perfect lake retreat is perfect for your next vacation! Whether you want to get away for a romantic weekend, family vacation, or adventurous trip to Montana, this is the place for you!

Ashley Lake is a nice & quiet lake, with an incredible turquoise, blue color due to it's clay bottom. Huge trout and salmon inhabit its deep waters. Elk, moose, wolves, and deer are all found in this area.

The cabin has a large master suite with a king-sized bed with views overlooking the lake and it's own full bathroom. An additional bath with a shower is located on the main floor.
The black ottoman in front of the couch turns into a single bed, perfect for your kiddos or shorter guests. Turns back into an ottoman once folded.
Open Kitchen and Living area with bathroom adjacent to Kitchen.
The second "bedroom" is located in the living room. It is a trundle couch bed, with sliding doors for privacy. Downstairs with it's own entrance is another bedroom, with connecting full bath, full-sized bed, and washer and dryer. The bedroom includes storage and it's own dresser. This cabin sleeps 7 comfortably. Games, books, kid's toys and movies are provided in the small chest and shelf for guest use.

The deck with it's amazing views is equipped with a outdoor table and barbecue!
In the shed, we have pool toys, floaties, life jackets, and more! There is a large fire-pit outside to the left of the deck, perfect for sitting by the fire and roasting marsh-mellows and gathering with loved ones! We ask you provide your own firewood. We also have a small swing that overlooks the lake, giving you a comfortable and peaceful relaxing spot to sit.

Ashley lake is only 12 miles west of Kalispell. A quiet lake with very few boats on it. You feel like you have it all to yourself yet restaurants, shopping, Glacier National Park, Flathead lake, and many other activities are only a short drive away. If you are looking for some peace and quiet in a very scenic mountain getaway then this is the place for you.

Please note: We do charge for extra guests, and extra pets. If your pet leaves behind muddy paw prints, we charge an extra fee for carpet cleaning. Please message the VRBO Manager for more details.

Please be patient with Wi-Fi, it's a little slow!

NEW - We have two kayaks for rent if you want some added fun to your stay! 25$/day for each kayak. Please message Abbey (VRBO Manager) for more details on how to book, etc.

A bit of lake heaven

Loved the peace and views! Swimming in the lake was brisk and perfectly refreshing. We enjoyed the sun on the dock in the mornings, drinking our tea by the lake. I’d stay all summer if I could! Thanks for sharing your cozy cabin and letting us have a bit of lake heaven too!

Montana Family Vacation 2022

Rabbit Hole exceeded all of our expectations. We had a wonderful stay! Abbey was very accommodating and took care of all of our needs. The property is managed well and a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle. The internet was spotty, as we were informed ahead of time, but we actually appreciated the time to unplug from all devices and focus on family time on the lake. We really enjoyed our stay and the remoteness and peace of Ashely Lake.

Girls Trip from MN

Six nurses trying to get away and relax while exploring GNP! Loved everything about this cabin! Except for the fruit flies :( Tried to tell the handler but pretty much just said it was norMal and to put out apple vinegar! Hahaha… sorry we dont travel with any! ;) So that was pretty annoying-all the little knats everywhere. Beautiful sunset tho!

Fun weekend getaway

This cabin was perfect for a quiet weekend at the lake. We loved being right on the water and spent a lot of time on the porch just enjoying the view. The cabin itself is clean and comfortable, and stocked with just about anything you could need!

Perfect cabin on the lake

Great little cabin. The view is amazing from the deck and waking up in the extremely comfortable king size bed. Kitchen is tiny but well appointed (except we couldn't find a cutting board). This side of the lake gets nice afternoon sun and has a steep slope into the lake. There's some great day use areas across the lake by the campground that we took our dogs to for some "beach" time. Town is not terribly far, but I suggest bringing all supplies and staying in. Definitely recommend.

Family get away

I have been trying to find a place on this lake for several years...worth the wait did not disappoint! This lake is absolutely breath taking ! The weather was not the best but the cabin was so well stocked with books, games, and movies it was great! Property was very well stocked with essential things. It was great, we will definitely be rebooking for next year! Thank you so much!

Many great memories were made on this trip. The lake and surrounding area were awesome. Abbey was great at getting back to me quickly when I had questions. And check in was flawless.

Ashley lake fun

The property has private and beautiful views of the lake! We had a great time eating dinner on the deck, swimming, paddling and trying to catch fish. Water was nice temperature for our little one to swim in. There is no beach but a nice dock to get on and off kayak/paddle board. The property is on the steeper side of the lake so lane and lake access are steeper than the other side of lake. Nice amount of beds and privacy for everyone. We enjoyed are stay:)

Family Vacation on the lake

Beautiful location. We had a great time. There are quite a few stairs (which we were warned of) and getting to the dock could be difficult, for those traveling with littles or older adults. House provided everything we needed to have great week.

Beautiful location, had everything we needed for a getaway location. Internet is extremely slow but able to do a little browsing. No air conditioning but we knew that and brought our own fans. Host was very kind and responsive.

Perfectly beautiful!

It was perfect way to end our trip. After days of traveling and hiking it was peaceful and beautiful. Having the kayaks were awesome. Views were beautiful. Away from hustle and bustle but close enough.

Fun time at Ashley Lake

We had a great time at “The Rabbit Hole”. The cabin was clean. Plenty of bed options for our three boys. The water is beautiful, clear, and a warm 75 degrees. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to visit again!

Rabbit Hole getaway

We loved our stay at the rabbit hole! It had everything we needed and then some. We loved the remoteness and being just steps away from that gorgeous lake! Abbey (the property manager) was as fast as lightning in responding to any inquiries or issues we had. We will definitely stay here again the next time we come to Montana!

Cozy cabin by the lake

Tranquil and calm location for the whole family getaway about an hour drive from west Glacier entrance. Cabin was fully stocked with everything necessary and more.

Quiet retreat

Love this little cabin on the lake. Perfect views, wonderful access to the water, reclusive and hidden. We had a great time exploring the area, enjoying beautiful Ashley Lake, and enjoying the wonderful deck and property, all right on the water.

Great lake cabin

We had a great week there, spent quality time with family. There is no signal at all, so very relaxing view. We made a mistake with the dates and didn't check out in time, however the owners were very understanding and we appreciate it!

Lovely Cabin, but there were lots of bugs.

We went there in late spring/early summer so unfortunately we hit what I assume was bug season. There were many bugs everywhere, which was annoying. Also the house could have been cleaner. We cleaned many things when we came in because we felt that they weren't clean enough. The lake is beautiful and we loved watching the sunsets and even a sunrise. We tried fishing but we didn't catch much. (I think that's related to my fishing techniques though). things to consider: - The road out to the cabin is paved half of the way and dirt the other half. There were many potholes on the road and we bottomed out a couple of times. If you have a car then I would not suggest that you try it. We had a small SUV. - The internet is very weak out there. Personally I liked that my wife wasn't stuck on Facebook all of the time, but if you had hopes of working remotely then forget about it.

Beautiful lake!

Our stay was absolutely delightful! We were lucky to get some warm weather and sunshine in early May and enjoyed swinging and sitting out on the deck overlooking the lake. Great communication with the property manager and thoughtful touches around the cabin. Thank you and we hope to be back!

Just close enough to still be Away!

My wife and I enjoyed this amazing little cabin! About 30min of a beautiful drive outside of Kalispell. Close enough that it wasnt a bother to be away, but far enough to be out and to yourselves. No cell service at cabin but basic internet service provided. Was great to stay connected but also help to keep you off your phone and enjoying the amazing sites Montana has to offer. Thank You!

Kraig and Jen Trippel are owners of Cutting Edge Excavation in Kalispell MT. We just recently bought this cabin so we could have a spot to retreat during the summer with our family and share with guests. We enjoy camping and traveling when we are able to get away from work. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do!

Our daughter Abbey Nelson is the Property Manager of the Lakehouse. She cleans the cabin & handles all bookings online. She is very outdoorsy as well and enjoys spending time at the cabin whenever she can! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Abbey or the cabin owners.

Perfect mix of cabin living and lake retreat! Still have that cabin feel while being out on the lake. Gorgeous views right off the front porch, and surrounding trees to still give you that privacy. Very quiet location, but still close enough to town. This cabin is perfect for your family if you love simple and quiet living!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The front porch is the best thing about the whole house! The amazing view off the deck overlooks the lake and the beautiful mountains that surround the lake. You can listen to the loons all over the lake, and if you're lucky you'll see so much wildlife up here! We hope you love it as much as we do.
