Your own private sauna, ice bath & hot tub retreat — just 5 minutes from Matakana.

Perfect for couples or a relaxed weekend with friends, this cosy cabin is designed for slowing down, recharging, and enjoying something a little different.

Start your day with a coffee on the deck, head to the estuary or beach, then come back for a sauna, cold plunge, and soak under the lights.

Walk to the estuary, or take a short drive to Omaha Beach and Matakana Village.

This self-contained cabin offers a relaxed, stylish space to unwind. Inside, you’ll find a comfortable living area with a large sofa, along with an art desk stocked with supplies. The space also features a well-equipped kitchenette with a sink, two-burner hot plate, air fryer, toaster, 90L fridge, and kettle.

Please note, the kitchenette is designed for easy, light meal preparation — ideal for breakfast, snacks, or simple dinners between enjoying the spa and exploring Matakana.

Laundry facilities are available in the main house.

The separate bedroom features two queen beds and opens onto its own small sun deck — a quiet spot for your morning coffee or an evening wind-down.

Step outside and you’ll find your private spa deck, complete with a four-person sauna, ice bath with a continuous ice machine, outdoor shower, and hot tub. There’s also a bar counter for relaxing while others enjoy the spa. At night, the space lights up to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Please note: The cabin sits within a spacious backyard, with the main house nearby (home to a friendly owner who respects your privacy). While the cabin is close to the main house, it has its own private entrance and dedicated spa area. Most guests find it a comfortable and private space, but if you’re looking for complete seclusion on a standalone property, this may not be the right fit.

Pets are welcome, so your furry companion can enjoy the getaway to.

There’s plenty of easy parking just across the street by the tennis courts, and a bus stop nearby with connections to Omaha, Matakana, and Warkworth. Scenic cycle trails are also close by, making it easy to explore the area without a car.

I’m based here in Matakana and love everything this area has to offer — from the beaches and estuary to the local markets and slower pace of life. I’m often out surfing, foiling, or kayaking, so I really appreciate how easy it is to get outdoors here. Hosting has become something I genuinely enjoy, especially creating a space where people can switch off, try something new, and make the most of their time away. The spa experience is a big part of that — it’s something I love using myself and enjoy sharing with guests.

I chose this neighbourhood for its incredible proximity to the estuary and Omaha Beach. Just a short walk away, the estuary is perfect for a swim, paddle, or launching a kayak from the boat ramp, and it has a really relaxed, local feel. Omaha Beach is only a few minutes’ drive, so you get the best of both — calm waters and open beach. It’s an easy, laid-back spot where everything feels close and accessible.
