The Space:

Koutu Hideaway is a warm, private guesthouse tucked behind the owners' home on the quiet Koutu peninsula. The cottage sleeps four - a queen bed in the main bedroom plus two single beds in the lounge - so it works well for couples, small families, or two friends travelling together. The main house sits between you and the water, giving you a private, set-back base while the lake is still a short stroll through the property.



Inside you'll find a comfortable lounge, a full bathroom, and a simple kitchenette designed for light meal prep. The kitchenette has a microwave, fridge, and electric jug, plus full crockery, cutlery, and glassware - everything for breakfast, snacks, and reheating - though for hot meals you'll be heading into town. Rotorua's cafes, Eat Streat, and the supermarket are all about five minutes away by car.



The bedroom is bright and quiet with a comfortable queen, and the lounge doubles as a second sleeping area with two single beds. The bathroom is spacious with everything you need. Fast WiFi (504 Mbps), a hair dryer, and heating make sure you're comfortable year-round.

You also have the run of the fully fenced backyard and the property's private beach on Lake Rotorua. The main house in front of the guesthouse stays separate and private, so your stay is undisturbed.

From Koutu you're well placed to explore Te Puia, the Whakarewarewa Redwoods Forest, the Government Gardens, historic Ohinemutu Village, and the Polynesian Spa.
