Cod Cottage, a quintessential kiwi bach in Duvauchelle Bay, Akaroa

Relax by serene waters! Awaken to native birdsong. Just an hour away from Christchurch, this is the perfect weekend getaway or stay longer if you want to soak up all the local delights. You will find plenty to keep you entertained. This quintessential kiwi bach is wonderfully positioned to enjoy all the activities available in Banks Peninsula! The cottage is just a short stroll to the local pub, store, the Crooked Creek Golf course, fishing, water craft, safe swimming, Onawe historical reserve, and other walking tracks. Akaroa town is just a 10 minute drive away and hosts a variety of attractions- wineries, dolphin watching, horse trekking, quaint shopping and a vast array of restaurants boasting local produce.

Or simply sit seaside, sipping on a wine and having a gastronomic experience with the local fish and chips.

The cottage caters for 6 people comfortably. There is a pullout in the living area for an extra 2 guests if absolutely required although we do not recommend it! The cottage is only 60square metres!

Plenty of flat off-road parking and a public Boat launching ramp just across the bay.

Please note this is not a serviced property. We rely on guests leaving it as they found it so everyone can enjoy it. You will also need to bring your own towels, linen and personal supplies. If you would like a more catered and sophisticated option, the local Hotel has serviced Motels.
