Hill Country Retreat w/ Hot Tub & Views

Enjoy your stay watching deer, birds, sunsets, stars, and relax. This is an executive-level home centrally located to New Braunfels, San Antonio, and Austin. Just 10 min to Canyon Lake and Guadalupe River.

This is a Casita (guest house)with a separate entrance) it has one bedroom, one pull-out couch, and one air mattress. There is one bathroom with a shower with a bench seat. There is also a kitchenette with a stovetop.

There are boat and jet ski rentals for Canyon Lake and you can go tubing or canoeing on the Guadalupe River. Other area attractions are Guadalupe State Park, Natural Bridge Caverns, Schlitterbahn, Fiesta Texas, Wimberly, Luckenbach, Whitewater Amphitheater, and Fredericksburg is about 45 minutes away. Plenty of parking

We have a dog run if you want to bring your puppies. There is a 100-dollar-per-pet fee. Our onsite property manager (who stays in the mother-in-law's quarters which are separate from the main residence) will be able to help answer any other questions you might have.

Just stayed for work but the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Hosts were very nice, even left us freshly baked cookies that were amazing. Would definitely reccomend staying here if you're in the area.

The Casita was clean, spacious and accommodating. Host were prompt on information and provided clear instructions. This is a great place to stay if you’re attending a wedding at Halls Hollow. Short 15 minute drive.

Family reunion

The house and location were lovely.. It was great for our multi-generational gathering. The hosts were prompt to answer questions we had and were very hospitable. It was an easy, beautiful drive to New Braunfels, Canyon Lake and Gruene. We hope to have the opportunity to return.

Wonderful attention to detail, absolutely spotless, beautiful hilltop home. Perfect for my husband’s birthday. Close to Canyon Lake. Greeted with homemade cookies - the hosts were fabulous.

The BEST Hosts

Michael & Joanie were the absolute best hosts I could have never even dreamed of asking for. They did so much that they didn’t have to do to make me and my fur babies feel at home. The casita was wonderful. Very spacious and had a fully equipped kitchen, which was great. I loved every moment being there and would highly recommend anyone to stay there. It was everything I needed and more. We will be back.

Excellent family getaway

We loved our stay here! This beautiful home is excellent for a family get away. The property and the hosts exceeded our expectations. If you have little ones, you know it can be tough to travel. They have everything to need from cooking tools and utensils to a pack and play for bedtime. There are even board games and streaming devices in all of the rooms. There’s also lots of room to run and play. If you have a chance, sit and enjoy the sunset from the bench swing overlooking the hill country. We truly enjoyed our stay here!

Amazing property!

The pictures don’t convey how beautiful the house and property really are. There is more than enough room for 10 adults to enjoy a stay at the property. Bedrooms were large with comfy beds. The kitchen and dining rooms had plenty of space for our large Thanksgiving feast! Owners and the on-site property manager were great to work with. Easy communication and friendly service!

Amazing Spacious House

We stay at numerous VRBO properties and every time it can be a real gamble of what you will be walking into, and hoping that it’s not just good photography. This property is even more amazing than the pictures. The house was so spacious and plenty of outside space as well. House was vey secure including a gate to enter the property. On top of that communication and response time from owner was top notch. There was absolutely nothing I could complain about with this location. Highly impressed!! Recommend for any large group.

We were very impressed with this beautiful house and property! It was perfect for our group and very spacious. Great location as well, about 20 minutes from tubing and 10 minutes from canyon lake. Would love to rent this house again.

Mini family vacay

We enjoyed our stay at this rental property. The location and house was very beautiful. I would say the fridge and house was not as clean as we figured it would be, but over all it was manageable. Lots of space for me and my family. We enjoyed the beautiful mountain views and the beautiful canyon lake which was very close by. The house had everything we needed to feel welcome and comfortable. I would recommend this rental to my friends and family and hope to be back again soon!!!

Nice but not an accurate description

When we got to the property it was very nice but we could tell there was someone living in the guest house that is attached to the back of the house because there were cars and we could see dogs in the windows barking at us. This house is right on the patio in the back. In addition when we walked in to the house it was clean and very nice however we only counted 4 bedrooms when the listing said 5. There was also a refrigerator full of food and a pantry full of food so you could tell someone lived there. There was a room at the front of the house with double doors that we love led which must have been the 5th bedroom. When I asked the owner about it I was informed that their property manager lives there and is at work. He was supposed to be moved out the Sunday prior to our arrival but did not. At this point I was pretty upset. The owners did give us a refund however I believe they should have notified us prior to our arrival so that we could have had the option to make other arrangements rather than waiting until we got there and then had to try to find somewhere to stay at the last minute. I gave good reviews for the home itself as the house is very nice. The cleaning lady that was there before us did not do a very good job of cleaning. I have 1 star for communication because they did not notify us ahead of time about the person living inside the rental home nor the person living in the guest house. They were however good about responding in a timely manner after we got to the property and reached out to them about how upset we were.

The listing had 4 bedrooms originally. The renters that lived in the guest house were identified on the listing since the house has been listed. We provided a full refund. The renters have now moved out and the new property manager is in the mother-in-law quarters.

Beautiful home and neighborhood, but a disappointment

This was an absolutely beautiful home and neighborhood. The disappointment was being told the property manager who was living in the home would be moved out before our stay. He was not. Therefore the 5th bedroom we thought we'd have (an additional one on the main floor for my mother who cannot manage stairs) was not available. Mom got the master bedroom while the other 8 of our group slept upstairs. Although we thought we had enough bedroom space, we now didn't and needed to utilize one of the fold out beds, which was broken. 2 of our guests slept on the floor with the mattress. The home was not as clean as previous reviews stated, especially in the kitchen area. All has been pointed out to the owner and he assures he will look into (and hopefully find a new cleaning service). The amenities state the home is wheelchair accessible. Although the rooms are very spacious, there are 2 steps going into the front door and 2 steps going into the back door. Mom was on a walker, and sometimes is in a wheelchair, so we had to help her with these. The lighting system in many areas is confusing. When leaving on a light for vision at night, we awoke to the lights automatically turning themselves off. The front porch is wonderful to sit and enjoy the view of the hill country, or the lighning/thunderstorm which we encountered, or the bright stars on a clear night.

We have a beautiful home that we can host you in so that you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the hill country.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Hill country flair with a relaxing atmosphere. A back porch made for sitting and a front swing in an old oak tree to watch the sunset and sip some hill country wine. You have your own entrance and covered parking spot. This Casita has one bedroom, one sleeper sofa, and one air mattress.


White water amphitheater is just 20 min down the road as is access to the horseshoe which is a fun 1 to 1.5-hour float.
If shopping is your thing we are only 45 min from the outlet stores in San Marcos.
Want local music head on down to Gruene Hall only 30 min away and the oldest dance hall in Texas.
Want some history head down to the Alamo in about 45 min you will be there. While you are there you should head over to the River Walk and enjoy some cool breezes, good food, and great shopping.
If you want to stay for a while we are close to local grocery stores.

We do have our onsite property manager in the mother-in-law quarters that are separate from the main home.
