We found a lot of the reviews on the property to be very accurate. Mainly, it’s a great location. It’s very walkable to get down to main areas like River Street and City Market, but we found that there were so many great smaller shops and restaurants right near the apartment. There is definitely delayed and minimal communication with the host. Would recommend this if you are looking for a less expensive place in Savannah to stay for a quick trip.

DO NOT STAY. Paid for 2 nights and only stayed one, only due to the fact of getting into town at midnight. The place was barely swept, long hair on floor, one roll of toliet paper, holes in the ceiling in living room and bathroom, the rear door had no curtians and wouldnt lock, no spare sheets at all, along with gainy stains on the pull out, which also had no sheets on it. And to top it all off, the rear ac vent was leaking water onto the floor. Reached out to John twice and finally got a reply a day later.

Underwhelming

This place had the bare minimum or less for all the amenities. There were no sheets for the pullout couch. The unit was only stocked with 2 sets of towels for our group of 3. The host was apologetic and had us get towels from the first floor closet, but if we wanted more towels there was going to be a fee. All of the soap was watered down. The baking sheet was too large for the oven. There were holes in the walls and ceilings, including one above the shower which was a bit concerning. Everything just seemed slightly dirty. Overall the place has potential and a great location.

1800s Apartment

Cute apartment but could use some maintenance. Also used as a storage area so that was odd. Great location.

Nice but needs some up keep

There was a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom. Only a few utensils in the drawers. We only had 1 and 1/2 rolls of toilet paper, when asked for more, we didn't get a response. Also would have liked to have more then 1 towel per person for 6 days.

Ok if all you want is a place to sleep

The bedroom/sitting room is as the pictures show however if you like to unpack your clothes for a few days stay, there's no dresser.The kitchen is poorly equipped for even basics like cooking breakfast. Only 1 mug, a rusty kettle and pitted pans that couldn't be used.As others have noted, the host isn't responsive.The wifi network and password provided at check-in didn't work, took the host over an hour to respond with correct information.Similarly my request for additional toilet paper and another mug took 12h for a response and almost 24h to receive.

We arrived to a filthy apartment late at night. Property manager (john) was prompt in responding, but did get me off of the VRBO app and communicated via text instead. Had to wait about 40 minutes for the cleaners to come and then another

Great historic place within walking distance!

This place was great and I’d highly recommend staying here vs. a hotel to get a better experience of what Savannah truly offers. It’s within 5 minutes of Forsyth Park and free parking right in front. The place is clean, has almost everything you’d need (silverware, detergent, towels, etc.), and was a great place to relax and lay your head. Our only issue was getting in as we couldn’t figure out how to get the key but John replied swiftly and we figured it out.

Would not recommend

While the location is great, this property was extremely disappointing. Primary concern was the lack of security- downstairs door needs to be replaced, upstairs door does not properly lock and can be pushed right open even after securing it with the code and lock on the inside, and the window in the bathroom has no way to secure it whatsoever. There were also holes in the ceiling in the bathroom, which is another major red flag. My husband and I booked the property for 3 nights but only spent the first night here, as the bed was also absurdly uncomfortable. When I brought up my concerns to the property manager, I got no response. Very unprofessional and a complete waste of our hard earned money, unfortunately.

Overall good location and nice place, but bad communication with property manager

Stayed here for a week with my friends on spring break and the apartment is in a decent location and is nice inside, but the communication with the property manager was terrible. Not once did They respond to the several questions we had. For example, the door to the apartment room did not Lock, so we had to leave it open the whole time. (The passcode given didn’t work) and the passcode to the lockbox that would get us into the building also didn’t work. Tried messaging and calling the property manager several days during our stay and got 0 responses. Luckily no one walked in and stole our belongings. Very disappointed with respect to this, but the place itself was clean (except for a friendly lizard we encountered in the bedroom!) unfortunately would not recommend if you are looking to stay at a place with a responsive property manager.

The place is definitely located nicely as far as historic district and accessibility to Savannah. John is a lackluster host unfortunately. He seems to be bothered with questions or problems… Who knows maybe that’s just his personality. The place was not exactly clean. A lot of the necessities you would think it would be on site were not. C

Great stay in a great location

We were very happy with our stay. Great location and good communication/response with host. The only thing that I would be sure to advertise on the site very well is that the house is on the second floor with a large flight of steps. If it is on the site, I did not see it. The steps could be a definite barrier for those who may have orthopedic issues. Otherwise, it was great and I would recommend to others!

Loved It

Overall, the place was gorgeous and I loved the view from the bedroom windows. Everything was clean and neat for us when we got there. The only thing missing was salt in the kitchen cabinet lol. I also wish the host got back to me throughout the week as well. I messaged a couple of times and still haven't gotten a response. When we did communicate, though, the host was kind and understanding.

Mother-Daughter Trip

Mother and Daughter trip before starting college. Best trip we have ever had! We did a ghost tour, visited a haunted house and ate lots of good food! We even branched out to Tybee! Thank you for our stay.

Thanks to the cleaning ladies we were able to enter. We had been given the wrong entry codes to both doors. I couldn't get a hold of the owner. Other than that our stay was wonderful.

Great, But…

Super great location, beautiful interior, really really responsive property manager! But a couple of misses. The AC didnt work very well - which is pretty important in Savannah during the summer time. There are room fans available for each room for added coolness, but just a heads up. We also only had one clean towel, the other was balled up in a hamper, so cleanliness/house keeping was questionable. We made it work and had the best time on our trip, but knowing those factors are a big deal for some wanting to share. Have to say incredibly nice and responsive PM. Thanks for an incredible location and a beautiful place to stay!

AMAZING property and location with a TERRIBLE property manager!

From our first inquiry the property manager was VERY RUDE. I simply inquired about property issues other residence faced and John, the manager, was immediately aggressive about he doesn’t read reviews and even offered a refund, confident I would only give a bad review (which he doesn’t read anyway). After getting Vrbo involved wanting the refund offered due to his attitude, which never happened even after he suggested it, my spouse and I chalked up and headed to Savannah hoping for the best. I was extremely happy with the property upon entry! The location was perfect, just a few blocks from Forsyth Park. The issues others claim appeared to be fixed, thank goodness, and we had a great vacation. It’s ashame such a beautiful property has an awful manager. I do recommend anyone to stay at this property but fair warning regarding communication with John.

STAY AWAY!!!

Do not let the pictures fool you, this is a terrible property that is not cleaned and the "host" is an incredibly rude person who hung up on me when I first contacted him. You can see the patterns in the comments here. Dirty, unresponsive, broken items. After hanging up on me the "host" moved to a text only system where he lectures guests on being polite. He also said I made his life harder because I dared to question the cleanliness of the bathroom. So expecting a clean property when I arrive and expecting the host to actually clean it if it is not clean is bad for business? The property is neglected with huge weeds out front and I found hair in the drain when I arrived, and sent him pictures of the unclean sink in the bathroom and he blamed it on hard water stains and then continued to berate me over text. Yet, I was able to clean it in a few seconds using the cleaner left in the bathroom cabinet. The shower does not work properly and floods the tub and does not give decent water pressure because the cheap faucet cannot change from tub filler to shower. That is why all of my showers made me stand in a foot of water. This was AFTER he came and fixed the tub that was not draining properly. Somehow he missed this when he supposedly cleaned the bathroom. Hair caked onto the return air vent, mold at every AC vent, ceiling leaks, lights and outlets that do not work. No instructions on how to use the lock into the unit. No key for the back door to the weed-filled "courtyard" that should be an emergency exit. The dishwasher was not emptied out, the bed sheets had stains on them, and the rug in the bedroom is FILTHY. Are these the "high quality linens" advertised? The closet is full of random stuff and there is no room to even get to the three hangers to hang up your clothes. The building is a typical neglectful Savannah landlord but if it had been clean and the host been responsive and polite it could have been a good experience.

Savanna trip

The house was clean and in a good location. However, the lock on the front door downstairs as well as the front door to the apartment and the back door of the apartment did not lock! We could not get the door to lock no matter what we did. We tried to contact the host and still haven’t received a response. There were only two towels in the entire house and we had 3 guests. Also the pull out bed was completely broken. Our third person had to sleep on a broken pull out and there were no sheets or anything to put on it.
