Gorgeous, serene 3 BR/ 2 BA fully furnished home located in the historic ghost town of Burke, Idaho. Built in the early 1900's and newly remodeled. Located 7.5 miles from the town of Wallace. Centrally located minutes from 2 major ski resorts. Secluded hot tub, wood stove and all the comforts of home. Garage with mud room entrance for your use. ATV and SNOWMOBILING right from the house with lots of parking available. You can also enjoy hunting, fishing, skiing or just take a walk along the creek. Bike the world renowned Hiawatha Trail or hike the Polaski trail. Sleeps 8. Pets welcome.

Labor Day weekend getaway

Adorable little place had everything we needed for a short one-night stay. Owner messaged us to let us know the house would be ready a half hour late, not a big deal but we were thankful for the communication. We were able to park in the garage which made unloading the car super easy. Chose this house specifically for the hot tub which was a little dirty on arrival, but a couple scoops with a net fixed that. We took a walk up the road to check out old mining buildings and take in the beautiful views. Hope this place stays on Vrbo so we can plan another trip soon!

Interesting

For a historic renovation, the owner must have a sense of design. It has a feeling of art in terms of decor. The patio was lovely. Owner paid attention to detail. One suggestion though, please remove the wasp nest above the garage. They build them so quickly, I'm sure it was an oversight. Those darn pests!

Quiet location to get away

This house was a bit funky, but in a good way. It was a little bit of a maze to explore, lots of room, huge kitchen, a great porch (with hot tub) and yard. The house is right on the road, which was unexpected, but traffic wasn't too bad and you didn't really notice it much. One thing to note: none of us had any cell phone reception, we didn't see a home phone, and the internet wifi was spotty and slow. We could not do wifi calling, but we were able to send messages online. Not a crisis, but just something to be aware of. Overall, good stay!

Mountain Retreat.

Whole house was clean. ATT service works there if you are near a window or outside. Hot tub is amazing. You will not regret this house!

Great location

The house is cool and the location is great. The cleanliness was poor however with ants around and I even found a slug in the dishwasher no joke. Had to wash dishes before use as I kept finding dirty coffee mugs and pans. There was an old doing in the sink with no new ones. The kitchen is poorly appointed. Some new pans would be a good move along with a proper knife block. The hot tub was dirty and the water was green. We loved the fireplace and the gas fireplace in the kitchen was great. We liked all the different bedrooms. The internet was poor but maybe the weather had some effect. A DVD player with a remote would help plus for how cheap dvds are, buy some more!!! We would stay again though and really enjoyed the isolated location. The map should be updated with location as the address does not google well. I’m familiar with the area so we knew where it was.

Nice quite spot

Great little house with a fun hot tub and nice quite location. Perfect place to have a small family get together and a great spot to relax in the hot tub after riding the Route of the Hiawatha.

Quiet and relaxing get away

We had a pleasant stay overall. There were a few issues. Some things need attention, minor things like a cabinet door is in need of maintance and the garbage disposal wasn't working. The reason I gave 4 star on cleanliness was due to dirty dishes that we found, which may have been due to a previous guest. We enjoyed biking the Hiawatha and were going to take in the Pulaski trail, unfortunately smoke had come in overnight, due to wildfires. We did not have any problems with the wifi or our phones, that other guest reported. One bathroom did get locked with no one inside, but there was a key, thanks to a review that was posted. The beds were very comfortable. The property manager responded to an email quickly and easy convenient check in/out process. It was a much needed reprieve and a good opportunity to enjoy the surrounding beauty of Wallace.

location off by 6 miles!

Find a nearby place, that is worth your money better. This whole house is filled with mothball like smell at extreme level and I think it is a failed attempt to cover up the mold smell this place is already having. At one point, we thought of leaving the place but it was already late and we couldn't find a place. The bedroom placements are quirky (entrance from garage for one bedroom!) and one of the bathroom is very small. And the address listed and location shown in the Google maps is absolutely misguiding (offline map in car worked for my friend but he could not reach us over phone). This was 7 miles from i90 Wallace exit instead of the advertised 1.5 miles. This was big trouble specially with the poor cell coverage in the area. We were stranded driving around for an hour at 10 in the night and that was scary. The host later told us that Google maps doesn't work but she could have given the driving directions right in the first communication. I have shared the GPS coordinates link to her to avoid confusion for future guests. I am sorry I am not finding any reason to give any more than a 2 star review other than a friendly host..

Would not recommend or stay again.

Grew up in the area so familiar with area, but extremely disappointed with this place. Not very clean, photos misleading, one bathroom not shown is awful, two of the beds are on the floor, one of the bedrooms is thru a door they suggest stays closed at all times, because it opens into the garage! Weird set up, and house smells like moth balls, no real AC, two fans but one small and dirty, the other one broken. I’ve stayed in several VRBO’s and first time I’ve left a bad review, save your $, go somewhere else.

Enjoyable small town stay!

We loved our stay here! Loved the history of Burke and the beauty of the atmosphere. We enjoyed walking around Wallace, they had many choices of small shops, bars and restaurants to spend time in. It was nice to stop and relax in the hot tub and the small town feel of the overall atmosphere just added to the relaxation. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great place for family in a quiet area adjacent to the city

So what to say. Great place with responsive hosts and centrally located for whatever you want to do. The burke town site is worth visiting. What I loved the best is no big tv so we focused on each other instead of diving into technology. The host gave us a background on mining i did not know and the memories of watching my 76 year old mother do the 15 mile hiawatha trail was priceless. She fell 3 times and kept going and than enjoyed the hottub. We got to be with family make memories and bbq so it was good.

Fun Location and super cute!

Loved this little cabin! Although be careful with back restroom as someone accidentally locked it and then the 7 of us just had use of 1st bathroom! ;) but other than that, great cozy stay!

Comfortable and Secluded

We stayed for 3-nights as part of a two week road trip of skiing. Our family of six fit comfortably. The wood stove, outdoor hot tub, laundry, and grill were a nice plus for us. Easy communication with the owner, no issues. It is an older place, but was clean, had a nice newer kitchen, and plenty of charm. This is a secluded location up the canyon road that has a fascinating history, which made it more memorable than other places we stayed. We would stay again!

February Getaway

We were looking for an out of the way place without many people as a getaway for a few days. This place was perfect with the hot tub, wood burning stove, forested mountain range, two feet of snow, and the quiet surroundings. A quick clarification on communications, we have Verizon and we did not have cell service. However, the cabin does have really fast internet and Wi-Fi. That combination worked perfectly for us. A great place if you want some peace and quiet without distractions.

2nd stay

Stayed at this property a few months ago and wanted to come back to see it in the winter. We walked up the road to see the abandoned mining buildings, sat in the hot tub while there was 2 feet of snow just outside the porch, and stayed cozy by the fire in the wood stove. Had a great time again, love this lil house.
