The best view in Pirate's Cove. This five bedroom, four full and one half-bath masterpiece offers a an elevator, a top level open great room and master suite and four additional main level bedrooms (one offers a jack/jill bath), the other bedrooms have inclusive full baths. WIFI internet and cable television. A screened porch, top deck with expansive view, main level deck with hot tub and fifty-five feet of dock space. The elevator services all three floors and is accessible off the right carport in the hallway. Located in the exclusive Pirate's Cove community in Manteo, NC. Pirate’s Cove offers a outdoor pool, world class marina, restaurant, tennis courts, kids play area, fitness center as well as canals that are great for kayaks and boat accessibility. Bicycles are welcome and a great way to navigate the campus and never leave the gated community of Pirate’s Cove two miles from downtown Manteo and two miles from Jeannette”s Pier Beach! One owner home since 2001.

Pirates Cove Getaway

The location and community were great. Manager listened and reacted to our concerns. The house however did need a little TLC, but still a beautiful home and great location.

Beautiful and relaxing

This beach house was beautiful. I loved how it backed up to the water with a deck/walkway circling the neighborhood. The walk around that was little over 1 mile. Definitely worth a walk after dinner for the exercise. Lovely view of the sunset every evening from the balcony.

Nice area

Nice area, we had never stayed this far south but we will def stay down this way again. Loved the house just could have been more clean, it seemed like the cleaners missed the whole top floor & dirty dishes and laundry left, there was no vaccum for us to use, only a small handheld one with no attachments. Also the kitchen didn’t have any pots big enough to boil corn or crabs… elevator was very handy and loved the walkway around the development! owner was friendly and responsive!

My Husband rented this place for our family for my 53rd Birthday. We had a magnificent time. The home was beautiful and spacious. We truly enjoyed our time there. From the beginning the owners were great. They let us know that someone was coming to fix a toilet the next morning, the repair men were there in time and fixed it. We had no problems. I will definitely be renting it again. And suggesting it to others for their getaways.

A very spacious home in a premium gated community

We loved the home and the gated community. This is a very spacious home with a huge kitchen dinning area that seats 16 and gas 20’ high cathedral ceilings. With large windows and views front and back. There are wrap around decks on the second and third floor that can be accessed from either floor or the ground. It is a five minute drive to the very large public parking area at Jennette’s pier. And there are showers and toilets there. Never had and difficulty parking there. The community recreation area has a pool, tennis, arcade and bar.. The owners communicated well.

Hammock 54: Winner!

First time in OBX and this house was perfect for 9 family members. The property was clean and spacious! Beautiful views from the decks (sunrises, sunsets, fireworks). Don't be fooled by staying in Manteo (on Roanoke Island)...you can be anywhere on the strip within 15 minutes and not have to deal with the craziness that may come with party houses and loud late nights. The property owners certainly love this house - we cooked, grilled, played games in the humongous living room and sat out on the deck just watching boaters cruise by. You are 5 minutes away from a CVS, Dunks and the grocery stores, Overall, wonderful experience!

Wedding at Pirate’s Cove

Overall the house is great for a stay for a wedding at the Pirate’s Cove Marina. It is very close to the pavilion. The only problem was when we got there the property had not been cleaned and the sheets and towels were in plastic bags in the laundry room. We got there at 5pm and called the manager. The cleaning people got there at 7:30 and It took until 10 pm to finish but they did not vacuum everything. My grandson who is 7 1/2 wanted to go to bed early so he was not able to sleep because of the vacuuming. But the house is great especially the elevator. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils.

The property location is excellent. It was cleaned but had minor things that were not clean. Can use some cosmetic repairs. Host was excellent. Would stay here again.

Excellent family stay

We had the entire family with us - grandchildren of all ages /‘and home was very accommodating- well stocked. Staining on carpets and water damage but the home was very comfortable. Beds are double outside of master king size bed. Loved the elevator. Could use a baby gate on upper floor. Wonderful time. So worth the investment. Lovely marina with lots of amenities. Also a sense of safety within the marina.

Hammock 54 is a delightful place to stay. It is somewhat handicap accessible with an elevator.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Hammock 54. It was a lovely house. I have a son in a wheelchair and he was able to be be very independent. He enjoyed showing in the outside shower so that made it more accessible for him. The bedrooms are spacious and living area was very large. The kitchen was very manageable for making meals. The adult children (early 20’s) sat on the screened in porch every night to play games and hang out they also enjoyed the hot tub every night. The owners were very accommodating and checked on us to make sure everything was ok. We would highly recommended staying in this house.

Fun!

Great house with plenty of room to spread out on the main floor… Gorgeous views! We brought our boat and Kept it behind the house. Also enjoyed fishing and crabbing right off the dock. Guest bedrooms seem to be full mattresses so it may be a bit tight for some. Only real downside was the outdoor furniture seems to be falling to pieces after years in the elements (understandable!) Overall, We’d love to return!

Overall this is a very nice property with a large fully stocked kitchen, living area, and outdoor deck. The bar area and ice machine on the first floor was an added bonus. The master bedroom was large and roomy. The four other bedrooms served their purpose. We spent a large amount of time on the back deck enjoying the weather and the views. I cannot review the hot tub as it was inoperable for our entire visit. The owner did call out for repair three different times during our stay but each time the fix only lasted a few hours. This was disappointing as we were looking forward to using it each night only to find it not working. Our main issues with the property during our stay was that it wasn’t cleaned prior to our arrival and we had to call and wait for an emergency crew to come in to clean- they did a great job but due to size of house, did not complete until 10PM. As mentioned, we were unable to use the hot tub during our stay. A few tubs and sinks were clogged and did not drain properly in the bathrooms. Minor issues with the property are bed types in 2 BRs are not as listed, some broken deck furniture- chairs & swing, carpet on main floor is stained throughout. Overall this is a nice property that needs a few updates. I believe this property is a relatively new rental so I am sure a lot of the issues will be resolved as renters provide feedback.

For the price, we expected better

The house is large and in a safe, quiet neighborhood near beaches, restaurants and other attractions. The neighborhood has a small sand playground for kids just a few minutes’ walk from the house. The living/dining area on the top floor of the house is quite spacious with great views, and there is an additional sitting room on the second floor. The kitchen appliances all worked well (except that the water filter and ice maker on the fridge weren’t working), and the wet bar in the living area has a beverage fridge and a separate ice maker, which was quite nice. We enjoyed the hot tub, which was clean and worked well. The owners provided detailed information for check-in and check-out, along with lots of helpful tips and suggestions about the surrounding area. The beds were comfortable, and house does sleep 10, but the listing specifies a room with two double beds when they are in fact small twin beds. We were disappointed by the level of cleanliness and upkeep. The showers and tubs seemed not to have been cleaned well and some barely drained. We had to rewash towels and silverware upon arrival. When we told the owners about this, they said the cleaning crew usually does a good job but had a limited window before we arrived. Furthermore, the pantry in the kitchen was very dirty, and while it’s not apparent from the photos, the carpets throughout were stained. Given the $275 cleaning fee, we definitely expected better. Additionally, the porch swing was broken and the hooks holding up the hammock were badly corroded.

Pirates Cove Treasure

Wonderful property with everything we needed and more. Beautiful views from the deck that the online pictures do not do justice to. Very nice gas grill for cooking dinners. Will certainly return when we get the chance.

We had to book super last minute and this was perfect for us. My Grands were with us so the elevator was super convenient and the house was great. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub too.
