Idlewood Cottage - Mountain Retreat w/ Covered Porch & Fireplace
Located just minutes (3 miles) from the many restaurants, shops, and galleries on Main Street, this Highlands Home is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the mountain air. Convenient to hiking trails and waterfalls, guests will enjoy the large private yard, complete with expansive decks, and outdoor fireplace and fire pit.
Idlewood cottage has four bedrooms and two and a half baths, and was lovingly renovated to provide modern and spacious living and sleeping areas. The comfortable living room features a beautiful wood-burning fireplace **indoor fireplace currently unusable**, smart TV, and opens into the dining room. Lots of natural light permeates all of the rooms. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking tools, service pieces, and everything you will need, including paper towels, trash bags, dish washing detergent, and coffee filters – just bring your groceries!
The master bedroom suite is located on the main floor and features a King-sized bed, smart TV and large bathroom with vintage claw-foot tub & a walk-in shower. A second main floor bedroom also has a King bed, and is next to a full bath located in the hallway. There is also a washer and dryer for guest use.
The second-floor features two bedrooms and a small half-bath. Both bedrooms have twin bedding (four Twin beds in all).
Each floor has its own HVAC, so everyone can be comfortable. We also have great internet!
The outdoor space is private and beautiful. From the wonderful landscaping to the wall of rhododendron, guests will enjoy the peace and tranquility of the natural surroundings. A deck offers shaded outdoor seating and a new gas grill. The adjacent fire pit provides a place to roast marsh mellows or just to relax and enjoy your favorite beverage. We even have 6 camp chairs for guests to use around the fire pit. A new large covered deck with fireplace was added in summer of 2022 to expand guests options for outdoor enjoyment!

[All of the homes managed by Highlands Vacation Rentals have wifi internet access(speeds may vary based on different providers), basic kitchenware & dishes, linens provided, and a starter set of amenities including: 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom + A set of personal shampoo, conditioner, hand & body soap (also per bathroom), 2 paper towel rolls, a few kitchen trash bags, a kitchen sponge, some dish soap and a couple of dishwasher and laundry detergent pods. ]
CANCELLATION POLICY: Our cancellation policy (effective for bookings confirmed after April 1, 2024) is outlined below:
For reservations that are 21 days or less, A reservation cancelled ( by email receipt ) between 0 - 45 days prior to arrival is not eligible for a refund. If reservation is cancelled more than 45 days prior to arrival, guest shall receive a refund of all payments made* less a cancellation fee of 10% of the total cost of the reservation AND the cost of any trip insurance if purchased.
*Refunds do not include third-party service fees as those are determined by the booking site and we do not control how those funds are processed.
For any reservations that are more than 21 days, No refund will be given unless the property is re-rented over the previously booked dates.
You may purchase Travel insurance to cover your trip for cancellations. Contact Highlands Vacation Rentals for details.
