BIRCH POINT on LONG LAKE-AWESOME WATERFRONT SETTING-SLEEPING BEAR DUNES

Birch Point is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath cottage located on the west end of Long Lake in Benzie County. The cottage has everything needed for a couples or family vacation. This is a private, serene setting on an all sports lake with amazing wildlife! Enjoy fishing or canoeing/kayaking past loons and sandhill cranes. Across the street you can hike the old Indian trail to stunning views of Lake Michigan and the Manitou Islands and swim and lunch on the beach. Lake Michigan beaches and sunsets in beautiful Frankfort and the dune climb in Empire are must do's!

The area also boasts several golf courses, including Crystal Mountain and renowned Arcadia Bluffs. Tube down the Platte River. Take a drive to Traverse City or Glen Arbor. Try your luck at the casinos. Come enjoy the fall colors and salmon fishing. Lots to do in what GMA in 2011 voted "The most beautiful place in America!"

This home was amazing! It had everything we needed, we loved using the kayaks and fishing rods, and had a fire almost every night. Cozy and perfect for a week away! Linda was a great host and very communicative and friendly. We hope to be back!

This was a break in a beautiful place with a family member. The property is lovely, the house is great, and so much to discover in the area small towns. I’m too old to do the dune climb by my standards, but the hiking trails (one almost out our door kept us enjoying ourselves. Great people we rented from and can’t say enough good things.

We really enjoyed our stay at Birch Point. Check-in was easy. The cottage was extremely clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We were able to use the kayaks, which was a plus. The owner was very friendly and responsive. We would definitely rent this cottage again.

Beautiful, Peaceful and Surrounded by Nature

My Wife, daughter and I shared a relaxing week at this wonderful spot. We made good use of the kayaks, played golf visited some of the local beaches and could not have had a better time. The host was available and helpful when needed and made sure we had everything we needed. One of the best VRBO experiences ever.

Middle of everywhere

Such a great location to go exploring in any direction, including hiking trails to beautiful Lake Michigan just across the road. Nice clean accommodations with everything needed for a great family vacation.

Wonderful!!!

We enjoyed our stay so much! This place is a gem. The house is so clean and the lakefront property is exactly as pictured, with canoes and kayaks for use. The property manager was very responsive and an amazing host. We felt so welcome and would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Lovely property

The location was perfect for our small group: close to hiking, to a favorite restaurant, and by a beautiful lake. The cottage was very clean, the beds comfortable, and the kitchen well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the sunrises and reading by the lake. We hope to return!

Lake House Vacation

This is the second year we stayed here and loved it as much as our first. Super house for lake activities. Kayaks, canoe, fire pit, fishing poles. Highly recommend Manitou for eating.

Beautiful Setting

This beautiful cottage is exactly as it shows in the pictures. The lake was so much fun for our kids and provided endless hours of entertainment. The house had all we needed and more! We will be coming back again!

Fall Family Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Long Lake. Sitting on the deck watching the sunrise in the morning was awesome. The bedrooms are huge and the kitchen well stocked. The lake was beautiful and great for kayaking, and the trailhead across the street offers an easy hike through the woods and dunes to Lake Michigan. Owner’s stayed in touch if we needed anything. Great stay, would definitely come back!

Wonderful!

We’ve been coming to the area for more than 25 years and this home was the nicest we’ve ever stayed in. The property is perfect for a family to get away and unplug. We loved being within walking distance to the Old Indian Trail. We used it almost everyday of our trip! The house and property are extremely well maintained and very clean. It truly felt like we were staying in someone’s home and not a rental property. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Fantastic cottage!

This little cottage is a dream! Beautiful lake property with a lovely yard, super clean home, and all you need for a wonderful week in Michigan! Linda the property owner was only a message away and easy to communicate with. My family LOVED the lake and the private feel of the cottage. We also loved fishing on Long Lake! The house was clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen for cooking. Would definitely recommend for those visiting MI! We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again, thank you!!

Wonderful Place for our vacation!

This rental house is Wonderful! Great beds, and Great sheets! Very clean and there was everything we needed as a family to make some of our meals. The setting is beautiful as it’s on Long Lake. Our family loved sitting on their huge back porch overlooking the lake. The owners left recommendations for their favorite restaurants, things to do in the area, etc. They were also available if we had any questions. We will definitely be back! Thanks Bob and Linda

Favorite Vacation Home!

We love Birch Point! We loved it so much that this was our second stay, and definitely not our last. The property is peaceful, quiet, and has lots of wildlife! The home is super clean, super comfortable and is completely stocked with everything you need to have a great week. From the kitchen to the kayaks outside! We love to sit outside on the dock in the morning and drink coffee. There are lots of hiking trails around and places to go, and not a far drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Linda is very friendly and easy to get in touch with in regards to anything to do with your stay. 5 stars, highly recommend!!!!!!!

Super Lake Vacation

We had a wonderful time on vacation here. The owner Linda was friendly and very helpful. The house is clean, on a pretty lake, and well furnished. We used both kayaks and canoe numerous times. We were surprised at the amount of fishing equipment on hand which we also used. Linda had an outside fire pit ready for us to just light with a match. The locale is within sort drives of everything we were looking to do in the area. The welcome package was a nice touch. Great vacation!! We will stay here again and recommend highly.

Amazing summer get-away

My husband, 2 adult children with their spouses, and I stayed here for a week. I couldn’t have asked for a better set-up. The house was exceptionally clean, kitchen extremely well stocked and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. The location was ideal: on quiet Long Lake, close to Lake Michigan, between Frankfort and Sleeping Bear Dunes. AND if that weren’t enough, the owners Linda & Bob couldn’t have been kinder, more helpful, or more generous. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, and I will be back.

Perfect family lake house!

We stayed at this lake house for four nights and we honestly cannot wait to come back! It was excessively big for our family of four, very comfortable and incredibly clean. It was well appointed with everything you need in the kitchen, as well as for the lake (kayaks, canoe, dock with ladder, firewood for the fire pit, lots of chairs, small sandy beach area). The lake was very accessible, clear, and peaceful. The house itself was the last of three on a dirt road and surrounded by trees. You truly feel up north here. And the location is perfect! So many hiking and biking trails nearby (including one within walking distance), as well as small towns, bigger lakes, and Lake Michigan, all practically right out the back door. And Linda is fabulous!! Great communication, early check-in offered, and thoughtful welcome gifts included (not to mention a very handy local list of things to do, places to eat, and very easy check out instructions). And the house was impressively clean when we arrived. I cannot say enough good things about this house and our experience here. We will definitely be back!

Very clean and very well stocked!

We were impressed immediately at the cleanliness of the house - from the counters to the floors to the drawers even. And as we looked around, every closet, pantry, and drawer had the items you would expect to find in your own home, and are likely to forget to bring along. For example, cling wrap! We needed it to cover some leftovers and there it was! Plastic sandwich bags for our packed lunch? Same drawer. How about laundry detergent? Also provided. Ice cube trays? Check. More towels than you would ever need? Yep - clean and folded on both levels. Firewood? Yep - in the shed. Speaking of the shed, you will be pleased to find fishing poles, life jacket, bocce ball set, Cornhole game, a fishing net, extra chairs, paddles and many other useful items ready for your use. The kayaks were so nice to have on the peaceful lake and my kids enjoyed the big yard with a fire pit and Adirondack chairs, while my wife and I loved hanging out in the massive porch with comfortable chairs and beautiful red flowers blooming in all of the planter boxes. I think having the owners right up the road makes such a difference as we could really sense the pride of ownership and just general ‘niceness’ of the property. Definitely not like one of the ones owned by a property management company where they just do the bare minimum. Finally, the location is quite literally across the street from a lovely National Lakeshore trailhead with a loop hike that takes you to Lake MichigaN
