Our host thought of everything their guests might need during their stay. The chalet was beautiful and inviting. It was very clean and well stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware, spices. etc…the drawers and cabinets were labeled with what items were stored in them. This was extremely helpful. The floor plan was perfect for our large family group to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Our host provided clear instructions regarding the chalet, and responded within minutes to answer any questions we had. Our family had a wonderful time and would definitely stay there again. Book your stay with them…you won’t be disappointed.

This is the perfect house for a family vacation. Easy access to the ski hill & a fire pit with chairs in the back yard to watch the skiers go buy :)!

Family vacation

We spent Monday to Friday with 11 of us at the house. We were very comfortable and house was wonderful. It was without a doubt the best stocked home we have ever stayed at. The only thing we would say, it go to the pool at Lakeview, the other location was not very nice.

Great Place

Our group has rented here before and the house didn’t disappoint! Shannon was great to work with. The house was great for our group! The we loved the new chairs in the basement and the kitchen was the perfect size. Can’t wait to stay here again next year!

Short Stop Success

We rented this gem last year for a ski weekend and came back again for Superbowl Weekend this year. Had three families with kids and it was perfect. Had a slight snafu with the WiFi upon arrival and the owners got back to me within the hour to fix the problem! Plenty of room and so great we never had to drive anywhere all weekend. Kids had a blast with the game room downstairs and so did the adults! Will book again for sure!

Great Location

We had a blast. Very easy to communicate. Plenty of space for 12 adults on a golf trip. The back deck and fire pit we’re amazing after a long day on the course. Would definitely choose this property again!

Shanty Golf Weekend

Planning a weekend away with the guys for golf? Look no further. Location was absolutely perfect (10 minute drive to every Shanty Creek course). Home was spacious, clean, and comfortable for all. Check in/out was quick and easy. Both Shannon and Michael were great with communication. Can’t thank them enough for the wonderful stay and memories, if we get back to Shanty Creek for more summer fun this will be our first option to stay!

This home is in the perfect location at Shanty Creek and has all the amenities you can imagine. Our family absolutely loved it and we plan on returning in the future. The owners are very responsive and super easy to work with.

Short Stop Lodge is the Best Stop at Schuss

This is the BEST ski in ski out house on the mountain. The home was well equipped and has great space. Two fireplaces, an outdoor firepit, an arcade game and a sauna. Looking forward to coming back!

My family and I just completed a week at the Short Stop and it was great!

The cabin was well furnished and had ample sleeping accommodations for our party of twelve. Location was great, 10 minutes to downtown Bellaire and 15 minutes to Torch Lake. I highly recommend the Short Stop for a family vacation.

Amazing Vacation Home

A group of friends and I stayed here for a golf trip and even though it rained A LOT, we were able to keep ourselves busy and still have a fun time thanks to this great property. The house was super clean with a true "up north" rustic cabin feel while still having all of the space and amenities we could ever need. I will definitely keep this place in mind for other vacation stays!

Perfect location

Great location and property if staying to ski. Perfect ski in/out making it ideal for families. The property manager was prompt on getting back to us on any questions we had while at the property. Would 100% recommend.

Mike and I first purchased in the Schuss Mt area in 2012 and instantly fell in love with the community and local activities available. After remodeling another property in the area, we kept our eyes open for a true ski in/ski out. We were lucky enough to purchase this property in 2017 and have been slowly updating to bring all creature comforts to those that share our cabin!

We fell in love with the location (one of the few true Ski in/Ski outs) - with amazing views of the slopes and fall foliage. Things got even better once we learned about the history: The house was previously owned by Mickey Stanley who played for the Tigers and had a pivotal role in helping them win the 1968 world series as they asked him to come in from the outfield and step in as "shortstop". Being that we are also huge fans of the local brewery SHORTS and the very nature of rentals being for a short stay - we immediately named our cabin "Short Stop Lodge"
