Since the 1800s, this historic farmhouse has stood proudly atop Opossum Hollow in Hocking Hills, Ohio. It offers a peaceful country retreat, ideal for families and friends looking to unwind and reconnect. Surrounded by the fresh air of the Appalachian foothills, it’s a true blend of rustic charm and modern comfort—an experience you won’t want to miss.

Fully renovated in 2018, the farmhouse combines timeless character with contemporary amenities. The 1,200 sq ft home sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms and one full bath. A spacious wrap-around porch overlooks scenic barns, a private fishing pond, and the rolling hills beyond.

Inside, the main floor features a king bedroom and a full bath with a freestanding tub for soaking or showering. Upstairs, guests will find two twin beds, a queen bed, and another king bedroom, each offering views of the surrounding woods or pond. One upstairs room includes a walk-out balcony with treetop views—perfect for morning coffee or evening stargazing.

Outdoors, enjoy the privacy of a wooded patio complete with a hot tub and fire pit. The home was lovingly restored with a focus on sustainability and repurposed materials, creating a space that’s both thoughtful and welcoming.

Beautiful historic home in a beautiful scenery

We stayed here for 3 days to do some sight seeing and hiking! The house is beautiful and nicely decorated! It was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need and we had plenty of towels for everyone to shower and enjoy the hot tub! Unfortunately we dealt with some storms and rain but the amazing wrap around porch offered an amazing place to watch the storm! All in all this was the perfect home away from home!!!!!

Great get-away

Overall, we had a great time. We did have some issues with the hot tub, but we were able to get it to work after looking up some error codes. The water pressure in the house is not great, but otherwise everything was wonderful! The house was clean, easy to find, and perfect for our weekend.

Weekend getaway

Perfect little getaway for our family. We loved fishing in the pond and even caught a large snapping turtle. The hot tub, oversized porch swing and fire pit were also on our list of favorites. The house was so cute with charm and character. We’d love to return

Winter Getaway

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Farmhouse! We loved the beautiful view and the quiet location. It is a short drive to most attractions in the area and the kitchen worked perfectly for cooking our own meals. If you visit in the winter, I recommend bringing slippers because it is chilly. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend it!

3,5 Wochen als Arbeitswohnung

Wir haben 4 Wochen in diesem Haus mit 4Erwachsenen in diesem Haus gewohnt. Es hat alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit funktioniert. Der Kontakt zu den Eingentümern war Top - Danke Keri! Wie einmal das Wlan ausfiehl, war nach kurzer Zeit jemand da um es in Ordnung zu bringen. So muss es ein. Die Lage ist nah am Highway 33 (2minFahrt) um schnell Anbindung zu haben und weit genug von der Strasse weg um in aller Stille auf der Veranda zu sitzen. Kann ich bedenkenlos weiterempfehen!

Weekend Refresh

There were 4 of us for girlfriend getaway and we had a ball! Our arrival was a little eventful as we had trouble getting our VERY loaded Honda Civic up to the house. Keri sent her husband over and he showed us to keep to the left side of the driveway and we had no more problems. House well stocked with everything we needed to cook, clean up and RELAX. We were actually glad the hot tub was not under an overhang as we had the most beautiful view sitting in it looking at the stars. Already talking about going back next year. One safety improvement suggestion; put some kind of anti skid strips in bathtub. It's a gorgeous tub and rather slick. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely amazing home

We rented this beautiful home for our friends wedding weekend. We were able to get ready and take breathtaking photos around the property. I wish I could give this 10 stars, the home is exactly as described and has moved into our top five favorite homes we’ve rented. I usually try to find something because nothing is perfect, but I honestly can’t think of anything. We will definitely be taking a family long weekend here again, I can’t wait for my kids to come this time.

House and property were very beautiful

The house has beautiful and the kitchen was awesome. We did a lot of cooking during our stay. Fishing in pond was a great plus. We saw deer in the yard.

Bachelorette Weekend

Honestly I couldn't of asked for a better getaway!!! The Fern Hollow was perfect for a homey feel and vacation space all in one!! I really appreciated how our property manager was a "text" away and answered any questions we had quickly! We all talked about coming back already for another Hocking Hills stay! I would highly recommend booking here!!!

Perfect vacation home in the Hills

1800’s Farm house was decorated beautifully with modern touches. Everything was clean and the home was turn key ready for a family vacation in Hocking Hills. Good location, nice fishing pond out front, great relaxing porch with plenty of room inside. The upstairs bedrooms were a little warm as the AC was stressed with the high 80s temps(not the houses fault). A couple fans upstairs would have been great. Also looked but couldn’t find a simple broom. The back patio and front porch accumulated lots of sticks, twigs, and various other crud that would have been nice to sweep off. Overall, this clean, safe, quiet house is close to grocery stores, flea markets, the parks, tubing and restaurants. I’d have no issues staying here again if I ever come back to this area.

Owner was terrible to work with!

The property was poorly updated, nails were sticking up on the steps and they have uneven. Also the mattresses need replaced in the upstairs room. We were charged extra for the hot tub to be cleaned when it was dirty when we arrived there. Their shower is very hard to get in and out of, it needs something to hang onto when your getting in and out. We requested and received extra toilet paper but were told that we should only need one roll. Also there was no hand soap in the entire cabin, come on now we are in the middle of a pandemic, we need soap. The cabin has many cameras and it feels like your being watched all the time. I would not recommend this cabin .

My family selected the farmhouse based on location and the house photos. Let's just say, we were not disappointed in our choice. The house was immaculate and close to local attractions. Thank you so much for a lovely relaxing stay!

Amazing Property!

It simply exceeded all expectations! We were looking for a secluded place where our family could relax and also be close to the Hocking Hills area. The Fern Hollow Farmhouse was perfect! Beautiful property, super clean, and comfy. Check In/Check Out was contactless, but Keri was very helpful and always available if we had any questions. We also enjoyed the Hubbs’ fireworks! 😊 Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us!

Girls get away

Great place for a girls get away! The place is so nice and the hot in was a huge perk. Just need to replace batteries in the remote and the remote for the fan in the king size bed room. Other then that it was lovely!
