Northstar Gold Bend Modern Cabin

Our goal is to make your stay special and memorable. Your first impression of our “Hunker Hut” in the mountains will be a lasting one as you look out at the view of the Northstar Mountain. This is where you’ll take a deep breath and start to relax.

The Gold Bend Townhomes are very close (less than a 1/2 mile) to the Northstar Village, ski slopes, restaurants, recreation center, and shopping. There is a free shuttle service (use the app) near our property to the rec center, the village, and the golf course. Our guests have access to the Northstar Recreation Center (ping me for work arounds on guest fee) which has beautiful pools (family & adult), tennis courts, a fitness center, hot tubs (family & adult), bocce courts, and a game room. The Northstar Village has excellent restaurants, shopping, ice skating in the winter, roller skating in the summer, a two theater cinema showing newly released films and live music.

Our remodeled (bathrooms, kitchen, fireplace) 2 bedroom, 1.5 BA is the perfect spot for you and your family and friends to enjoy a wonderful stay in Tahoe. It's a cozy property that is upgraded, clean, and a perfect spot to plant roots and enjoy what Tahoe has to offer. It has a fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, gas fireplace, large 70" SMART TV in the living room as well as SMART TVs w/Amazon firesticks in each bedroom and Spectrum Wi-Fi throughout. There is a washer and dryer and a sleeper sofa in living room.

We have a very family friendly location with puzzles, board games, children's books, a pack n play. For those of you that like to cook the kitchen is stocked with organic spices, condiments, and an extensive amount of cookware (including a crockpot and pancake griddle) and most anything else you'll need. You will have access to an outdoor storage locker that is located right by the front door to store your winter and summer items. For your use you will also find in the closet sleds for the winter and inflatable rings/rafts for the summer that we're happy to share with you during your stay. The back of the unit faces open space trails and forest. This open space has an extensive trail system for hiking and mountain biking during the summer. In the winter it's great for playing in the snow or doing a bit of hiking with snow shoes.

Northstar is a short drive to historical Truckee, Lake Tahoe, and Tahoe City.

Great Northstar location

This cozy two bedroom condo has nice furnishings and a very well outfitted kitchen (a must in my book!). Good wifi access and tvs. We enjoyed the outdoor deck for morning coffee and evening wine. And the location in Northstar is excellent, not in the village but easily accessible by shuttle, bike or on foot (in summer).

Just gets better

This is our second stay at this condo for skiing. The location can't be beat, reliable shuttle (by app only and worth it for winter) to village and the location avoids some of the traffic mayhem of lower Northstar Dr. The condo has quality furnishings and is uncluttered but cozy. The owners have improved instructions since our last stay. Hooks, yes.

Loved Our Stay

Stayed here with my husband and our two kids aged 4 and almost 2. Great rental!! Kitchen is well enough stocked and I appreciated host having a pack and play so we didn't need to bring ours. Views from balcony were great and kids loved looking at the animal tracks in the snow each morning. Shuttle service was easy. Great communication from host. No issues and would stay again.

Perfect quick getaway!

We had a wonderful time at this Gold Bend condo. You get the proximity to the village but also the access to the pool and rec center amenities that you don’t get if you stay in the village like we have before. There happened to be a power outage the minute we rolled into town, and Stephanie couldn’t have been more communicative and helpful. She was accessible even with other little questions we had throughout the stay. The kids loved the bunk bed, everything was nicely updated, smart TVs in every room, and everything you may need was available to us. We would definitely book again!

Second time renting and happy again!

This was our second time renting this unit for the weekend. Just as before, the process was easy, owners are very responsive and we had a great weekend! The kids loved (again) sledding on the hill behind the condo...we spent hours outside sledding and having snowball fights during the day and a quick, 5 min shuttle ride allowed us to enjoy the Village in the evening. Great condo and we’ll be back!

Well-appointed, comfortable condo

This condo had everything we needed for hanging out, watching movies, and cooking on our ski trip. Thank you for having a full size nonstick skillet! The master bed was wonderful but the top bunk mattress needs a refresh. Note that you have to get the app to reserve the shuttle - calling doesn't work anymore. We would come here again for sure, very happy with it.

Absolutely perfect!

Everything about this condo was perfect! The owner communicated so well making the process the easiest I’ve ever had. The unit was everything I would want in my own home. I didn’t wish for anything. The location near Northstar was so convenient, we were home and back to the village faster than friends staying within the village itself. I’d rent this unit every time we plan to visit.

Very nice cabin, perfect kitchen and Entertainment

The cabin is great and very cozy. the kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything for cooking. Amazon Alexa in living room and every bedroom for easy entertainment control. One star minus because the master bathroom was not properly cleaned. We noticed the shower glass door was nearly blind because of lime and the bathroom sink was forgotten to clean. Toilet was clean. Unfortunately the guest fee of the recreation area in the village increased to 10$ per guest per day - which is in my eyes a big too much for a few hours of swimming. So overall we had a great stay. thanks a lot for this experience!

Great condo for families with kids; fast response from owners

We decided on Thursday that we would like to take advantage of a week's worth of snow to head up to Tahoe for the weekend. We used the book online option at 10pm on Thursday night and received the confirmation email from Kristen at 7:45 AM the next morning. Her instructions were friendly, complete and very prompt. A bottle of Pinot on the kitchen counter was a nice greeting. The unit is well laid out, well furnished, updated and very comfy. We loved having a hill behind the condo and spent much of our time playing in the snow and sledding down the hill with the sleds which were in the guest locker by the front door. The balcony off the living room overlooks the hill, so it's easy to be in the condo while the kids play in the snow. In our downtime in the evenings, we enjoyed curling up by the fire and watching one of over 55 movies which were provided. The kitchen is well stocked with everything from spices to a blender to pots/pans for pretty much anything you plan to cook. The location provides quick access to the Village Village at Northstar for eating out, ice skating or upscale shopping and King's Beach is only about a 10 minute drive...making trips to the grocery store very convenient. We've stayed in condos in The Village before and we really liked that we were only a half a mile away from the amenities of the Village, but at the same time we were out of the chaos of the Village, which provided more play options for the kids. The added benefit is that renting this condo is at least $100 less per night than renting a similar one in the Village at Northstar and it is just as updated as any other condo we have rented. All in all, we'll definitely save this condo in our favorites on VRBO and we're looking forward to spending another weekend here.

Family Recharge

This is a great property and ALL of us really enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and well stocked for cooking and entertaining for all age groups. Breathe Easy and Relax

If you’re anything like me, spending considerable time checking photos, reviews and descriptions to ensure a comfortable stay in a nicely updated, clean, affordable vacation destination, with timely owner response, than you can bookmark this spot as a great choice! We spent five nights here during the summer. The place was everything we needed in a two bedroom with a spacious comfortable living/dining area, nice forest view from the balcony, updated kitchen with new appliances (everything you need to prepare meals), comfortable beds, and updated baths. Stephanie goes the extra mile to provide a lot of helpful extras like cooking spices, foil, baggies, dish soap, basic condiments, and a well stocked kitchen (better than most) for both baking and cooking (check the oven drawer for baking pans). We cook a lot of our own meals, due to diet restrictions, and the kitchen did not disappoint. I needed a vegetable steamer. Yep. Then a cheese grater. Yep. The list goes on. Very enjoyable to use! While the bathrooms are on the smaller size, they are clean and nicely remodeled and really all we needed. She provides sample size toiletries and a hairdryer too. The Recreation Center, to which you have access for an $8 per person daily fee, has a really nice main pool with lap lanes, couple kiddie pools and splash area, at least 3 hot tubs of different temperatures, a game room (pool table, ping pong, arcade games, air hockey, and shuffle board), playground, and recreation activities (we made tye dye shirts on our visit). They have snacks too. It is set amidst the trees and beautifully landscaped making it feel secluded even though the village is right next door. Gold bend condos are a street or two over from Northstar Village (2 minute drive). The village has restaurants, shops, skate rink (roller skating in summer), and a few other activities. While Northstar is not near the beach, the drive isn’t bad and the cost savings made it worth it for us. It’s about a 12 minute drive to Kings Beach, which is the closest public beach. My son also wanted a pool so this way we got both. Owner responsiveness is also a high priority for me in case needs or problems arise and Stephanie is timely in her responses and very accommodating. She was easy to work with and handled all our needs. All in all you can’t go wrong here!

The condo was clean and cozy and conveniently located near North Star village. (Only a short shuttle ride away)! Stephanie provided us helpful information before our stay, and was very responsive. Going to try to stay here again next time I come to Tahoe!

Easy weekend cabin

Some friends and I went up for a quick ski weekend. This was our first time at Northstar and the cabin was a great place to stay. It was minutes from the resort and there was a free shuttle. Close to the parking spaces too. Very clean and professional inside. Lots of little touches that made us feel at home. Would recommend!

Well stocked, lovely condo near Northstar

We loved the kitchen and all the thoughtful touches. It was relatively easy to get to Northstar Village with the shuttle running all day. The gas fire was much appreciated, and what a comfortable bed! Our only request would be for Gold Bend to put cinder down on all sections for the parking lot, given that it could be icy. Otherwise, loved it!

Great Getaway

We had a great stay with our family of 4. Townhome was very clean, comfy and well equipped. Although we did not do a lot of cooking, the kitchen was better stocked with cookware and utensils than many places we have stayed. View from the back deck was awesome to watch the snowfall.

Weekend getaway

Cozy condo, perfect for a family of 5. The condo was just at described. Very clean and had everything we needed from spices, pans and pancakes griddle. Too bad the Dixie fire was going on and the Air Quality was not good because we would have enjoyed long hikes around Northstar. We did visit the Northstar Recreation Center pool and the kids had fun. We also played board games and watched movies. We sat and enjoyed the smoky view sitting in the porch and one of the nights we were able to see a bear walking by. We are definitely coming back. Thank you so much.
