Our Cottage is on Whitaker Bayou minutes from Sarasota Main St. downtown

Adorable Canal Front "Fisherman's Cottage" is located in old Sarasota. Newly remodeled three bedroom/2 bathroom house just north of downtown and walking distance to Ringling College. Enjoy kayaking and paddle boarding (rentals available) onto Sarasota Bay right outside the backyard. Fully stocked house for short-term renters with linens, shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent, paper goods, and starter coffee/tea/creamers. Bring your clothes and toothbrush only! Please note this home is on a quiet residential street, so it is not an appropriate rental if you like to stay outside talking late into the night (10 pm is city ordinance for quiet enjoyment).
Please Note***All touch surfaces and floors are being cleaned with an EPA List N sanitizer. ALL sheets, comforters, blankets, towels, bathroom mats, floor mats, seat covers, mattresses, and waterproof pillowcase covers are machine-washed in hot water between EACH stay. We also provide all NEW toiletries (hand/body soap/shampoo/conditioner), tissue boxes, lotion, dish soap, sponge, and salt/pepper - everything unopened and unused.

My stay at Fisherman Cottage

Overall nice property with the outside overlooking the small waterway very nice . Plenty of outside seating with a nice small pavilion as well!! Geoff , the owner , was very friendly and accessible. He came by from time to time to check on us and see if we needed anything .

This place is a gem!

My husband and our daughter stayed at this place for a week, and it was absolutely marvelous. Geoff is very responsive, attentive to detail, and the house is very clean and delightful on the inside. On the outside, in the back yard adjoining the bayou, there is a wonderful gazebo with trailing bougainvillea. There is a fire pit in the middle of the gazebo that we sat around and sipped wine and talked for hours. It’s also very close to the airport! I can’t say enough positive about this place! We loved it!

Great vacation!

Loved this location! Close to lots of sights, but, quiet at night! Everything was clean and inviting. Back yard was your own little Oasis. Geoffrey was fantastic and I got to meet Duke! Will be back for sure!!

Beautiful place!

This place is amazing for a relaxing getaway! The backyard is stunning and great place to sit and have cup of coffee in the morning. The property is also short distance from amazing restaurants that the host recommended. Definitely would come here again!

Fabulous!

Mike is a great host and very responsive. His place was exceptionally clean and well equipped with everything you would need to have a great stay! The back yard is lovely with beautiful vegetation and landscaping. There are many areas to sit in both sun and shade. Mike’s recommendations of restaurants and things to do were excellent! Great stay!

Perfect Oasis

The home was clean. Comfortable, inviting decor. The home is equipped with everything you need for a wonderful, relaxing stay. The Back Yard is AMAZING. Such a peaceful space to bring a book, play your music (quietly it is a neighborhood) and just enjoy the FL sun or shade, the back yard provides both. The host was wonderful. I hope to stay again soon!

We stayed for six days in the Fisherman Cottage. It was well appointed with all you need for a family or romantic stay. Beds were comfy, back porch and patio were clean and inviting. Geoff is there promptly if a need arises. We had a great time and highly recommend it!

I plan on retiring to this home in the next few years and take tremendous pride in this quiet, cozy, relaxing home.

Imagine you are up in the morning sitting on big comfortable chairs under a gazebo, drinking your coffee or tea. Since the wifi is out there, you might also be catching up on some emails. You cannot help but notice all the flowers and native plants surrounding you, and since you are sitting 30 feet away from the Whitaker Bayou, you notice fish splashing in the canal. You quickly realize you are in Florida when you see all the tropical birds walking. No, this is not a hotel but a little piece of paradise.
