"The Mad Cat Inn" is a guest house located on our 10 acre estate that gives you quiet serenity, lots of open green space, plenty of parking (including for your boat if you are boating at nearby Alum Creek Reservoir).

Feel at ease! You are safe! We have a CASPR unit inside which removes 93.19% of all viruses!!

13 minutes to the state fairgrounds, 5 minutes to Polaris Fashion Place, 17 minutes to The Ohio State University and 20 minutes to downtown Columbus or the world renowned Columbus Zoo!

The space
• Located between two quiet neighborhoods.
• Balcony with awesome view of the property.
• Access to hot tub, basketball pole, and fire pit.
• Fully equipped laundry room containing a washer, dryer, ironing board and folding table.
• Off-street parking: Three parking spaces in front of the house, additional parking upon request.
• Living room contains a 50” 4K smart television.
• Every bedroom has it's own individual smart TV.
• Fully equipped kitchen.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire guest house with the exception of one small storage closet.

Outside of the guest house, you will also have access to some of our exterior amenities, including our hot tub, fire pit, patio, and basketball hoop. You are also welcome to take a walk or play games in the fields on the back 8 acres of our property.

All exterior amenities of the estate are shared with the main house, so you may encounter us while you are using them.

Other things to note
CHECK IN: Check in is at 3 PM or later.

CHECK OUT: Check out is at 11 AM.

PARKING: There are three well marked parking spaces directly in front of the guest house. You are welcome to use any and all of them.

There are five cameras that film the exterior of the property around the main house, and one that films the front door of the guest house. These cameras are exterior only and do not film any private areas. The interior of the house is monitored by NoiseAware, which will alert us to sustained loud noises during our quiet hours.

We absolutely had the best time at The mad cat inn. It was just fantastic. The property was beautiful. The house was clean and well maintained beds so comfortable. Doc and his wife Carrie have thought of every detail to make your stay just super relaxing. We had our dogs with us and the dog park was amazing. Also the toy barn was so cool the kids loved all the toys and cars etc they stayed busy all day. Hot tub super clean also. We will be back for sure. Thanks again for everything.

Such a great stay!

I own a cheer gym, and got called to do a cheer camp for Olentangy High School. I rented the Mad Cat Inn for my coaches and I. The property is absolutely beautiful. Everything was just as pictured online. The beds were very comfortable which was a huge plus. We used the hot tub both nights which was very relaxing after a 9 hour cheer day. There are so many options for dining in the area, as well as shopping. Would definitely be back to the Mad Cat Inn!

Amazing Stay

Beautiful, exceptionally clean, great location, awesome amenities for the whole family! Close to the zoo, waterpark and so much more. Doc and Carrie are amazing hosts! Would highly recommend and hope to come back some day!

We needed to get away from our crazy neighborhood fireworks, and this was perfect.Located at the halfway point between our favorite CBUS area brewery and downtown, so the location was spot on.Very comfortable space, though large for the three of us lol - spotless, and again just very comfortable.Ideal for your active four legged friend - a spacious area - with balls/frisbees/poop bags & water - and an additional area for a longer quiet walk.Carrie & Doc were interesting and fun to talk with, and asked several times if we were comfortable or needed anything - we did not lack for anything during our stay.I don’t usually enjoy talking with the property managers or hosts where we stay, but Carrie & Doc were pleasant and low key - if we have reason to visit again, we’ll check first to see if Mad Cat is available.

Great Place for a Family

Great setup for family and kids

Our family rented two units for an extended wedding weekend and it couldn’t have worked out better for us. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, and the toy barn was a huge hit. Will definitely look to stay here again when visiting Columbus relatives.

One of the BEST places we have ever stayed in

This property was a last minute booking for us, as our last property canceled on us 5 days before our trip. The owners are SO nice and answered all my many questions quickly, I would always have a response from Doc w/in 2 hrs. The owners who also live on the same piece of land as the STR's they have (there are 3 str's available). Each STR has a private outside area with a gas grill and seating. there are 2 large fire pits avl for use and the owners supply the wood to burn in them, these pits are shared between the STR's ( great way to meet some new people) there is plenty of seating for everyone.. Each unit has it's own private HOT TUB... How good it felt each night after being out at Sonic Temple Music festival and standing most all the time, If using the HT late at night just be very respectful at night of others and owners (noise wise), Now the unit we stayed in the Mad Cat Inn unit....WOW is what came to mind first. This place is stocked with everything you could need. I always lug everything with me (dish soap, laundry soap, dryer sheets, K-cups / coffee grounds, teas, S&P, spices, garbage bags, TP, Paper towels, mini lotions etc) I was shocked to get into the property and find I didn't need to bring any of these items! The owners make sure it is ready to go! 3 LG size bedrooms upstairs, 2 baths all on 2nd fl, a small deck to sit on from 2nd floor hall, I have rented many places over the years and this is one of the BEST, If we visit the Columbus area we will book again!

Short stay but great

We only stayed for two nights but it was a great stay. We needed something that we could bring our dog to and this was perfect. The owners are very nice. The fenced area for dogs was great. Beds are comfy and the place was clean. We will keep this place in mind for future stays for sure. Thanks Doc, for your hospitality. My 4 year old also had a great time playing with all the toys in the barn.

Airport trip

Needed an overnight near escape room, food, nail spa,& in route to airport. Run by Lovely people around for assistance. I believe they made their own board game so that was neat to see. If we had more time we would’ve given it a go! The bedrooms were comfy and the amenities were plenty.

Amazing property!

Spent the weekend with my 2 best friends and our kids for a little mini vacation together. We couldn't have asked for more on our stay. The rental was perfect for us with the 3 bedrooms and very clean. Loved the personalized Mad Cat Inn coffee, the stocked kitchen and the extra toiletries in the bathrooms. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. The kids absolutely loved the toy barn and begged to stay at least one more night, saying it was the coolest place ever lol. Close to Alum Creek Beach which was also very nice. Doc and Carrie really thought of everything and were friendly, sweet and amazing hosts! We would definitely stay again and might make this an annual tradition. Thank you Doc and Carrie for everything!!

Last minute getaway

Beautiful property and fun for all ages. Our teenage boys loved the toy barn! We grilled burgers and sweet corn on the patio and it felt like home. We were surprised with all the extras too like coffee/filters, laundry pods/dryer sheets, some seasonings for cooking and even a makeup washcloth which is a genius idea. Thanks for making our trip special after the hurricane ruined our Grand Cayman plans. Definitely will stay again sometime.

Doc and Carrie could not be better hosts! There are so many fun things to do on the property… fire pit, tons of yard toys, and a really big fenced in dog park. The grounds were immaculate. Even with all that fun, we still got a very quiet night’s sleep. What a gem in Lewis Center!

My family came into town for my daughter’s graduation from OWU. It was the perfect location, Doc and Carrie were so wonderful, the perfect place for our family to enjoy the celebration together. Mad Cat Inn was great

We greatly enjoyed out stay at the Mad Cat Inn. The unit was in great shape and had more than the usual amenities. Doc is one of the best owners I have encountered. Very responsive, cares for the property meticulously, and just a nice person. We all enjoyed it and strongly recommend it.
