Features a private patio with beautiful mountain views, renovated bathrooms, a convenient kitchenette, and an in-unit laundry room (no living room). Hosts live upstairs (the home pictured is sub divided, with no shared living spaces). The saltwater pool and spa are shared with the detached guest house (The "Buena Creek Guest House") 100 ft away, which can also be rented separately if available (inquire with hosts).
This listing advertises the entire subdivided bottom floor of the main house, fully walled off from the upper level with its own private entrances and amenities. We—your hosts—live upstairs along with our 2 children, giving you total privacy while still being available if you need anything. We are usually off doing activities during the weekend, and in work / school during weekdays.
Inside, you’ll find two large bedrooms, including a master suite that doubles as both a bedroom and living space with nearly 450 sq ft of room to relax. Please note that there is no separate traditional living room, as the master suite serves that purpose. The second bedroom features a pullout memory-foam king sofa, allowing the room to function as either a bedroom or an additional lounge area.
The suite includes two full bathrooms (one en-suite with the master bedroom, and the 2nd in a shared hallway), a convenient kitchenette with an oven and range hood, electric stovetop, dishwasher, and a full-size refrigerator and freezer. Enjoy the convenience of a private laundry room with full-size washer and dryer. Step outside to your private patio, perfect for enjoying the hillside sunsets and peaceful surroundings.
Entertainment and comfort are covered with two 50" smart TVs, high-speed internet, Netflix, utilities, and parking for up to two vehicles. The master suite includes a king bed and a pullout sofa for additional sleeping flexibility.
Guests also have access to our resort-style saltwater pool and hot tub, both controllable through a user-friendly smartphone app. The pool is heated with a solar system, during the spring and summer and early fall months, while the hot tub is available year-round for relaxation. You can swim year-round, the water just might be very cold in the Winter months and chilly in the early Spring/late summer. The jacuzzi requires gas heating, and we kindly ask for $40 per use (up to 2 private hours) to cover our heating costs. The jacuzzi can be reserved by either the primary house renters, or the guest house renters, and the host will help coordinate between the 2 units if there are conflicts.
This home is one of two rentals on the property. The second is the newly built Buena Creek Vista Guest House, a detached separate home located about 100 feet down the hill. It has its own parking, private amenities, and does not interfere with your views or privacy. The only shared space between the two rentals is the pool area. Guests should expect the possibility of another rental party occupying the Guest House during your stay. Have a large group? Book both together! Inquire with the host if you do not see the combined listing for both properties together.

Guest access:
Guests have full private access to the entire lower-level suite, including both bedrooms, two bathrooms, the kitchenette, laundry room, and your own outdoor patio. You’ll also have access to the shared saltwater pool and hot tub, heated seasonally and controlled through a smartphone app.
Areas not accessible to this rental include the front yard, backyard, rooftop deck, and driveway of the separate Vista Guest House, as well as the private backyard located behind the main home, which belongs to the hosts. The Vista detached guest house can be rented separately of this unit.
All other spaces connected to your suite, as well as the shared pool area, are fully available for your stay. Hosts live upstairs with separate entrances, ensuring privacy while remaining nearby if needed.
The neighborhood:
Neighborhood is right across the street to several soccer fields, recreational areas, hiking areas. Multiple vineyards are within a mile of the property as well. Nearest neighbor is well over 300 ft away, so the unit is very private.
Getting around:
Hosts recommend having a vehicle on premise. Within 3 miles, there are multiple train (Amtrak) stops which can also be used to travel to coastal San Diego destinations.
Other things to note:
Guests are allowed to use pool and spa. Solar Pool heating is only effective from April - October (not heated during winter). Spa can be heated at any time and is $40 extra per day of spa use (up to 2 hrs). This is to cover the heating costs.
Interaction with hosts:
Hosts live in the upstairs portion of the house with two children. Children are at pre-school during weekdays and out of the home until about 7 pm each weekday. Hosts typically are out of the home for most weekends as well. You won't see us unless you want to chat or have issues with the house.
