Not far off from the Sierra Blanca mountain range, this comfortable and stylish two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin is ideal for small families and couples!

Everything about A Climbing Cub speaks of comfort, charm and coziness. Wood floors and beamed ceilings add to the rustic charm. The spacious living room’s colorful accents and corner woodstove give this space a feeling of light and warmth. A distressed leather-upholstered sleeper sofa is an inviting spot to curl up and enjoy your favorite show on the large, flat-screen cable TV. A farmhouse table with room to seat eight offers a great spot to enjoy a family meal or board game. The small but complete kitchen is super-stylish with granite countertops, gleaming stainless-steel appliances, and enough cookware and utensils for you to prepare everything from a country breakfast to an afternoon snack.

To ensure you and your family are fresh and ready for the amazing activities the area has to offer, A Climbing Cub has two roomy, comfortable bedrooms furnished with queen-size beds and cable TVs. Both full bathroom have stylish fixtures and are well stocked with clean, fluffy towels. A Climbing Cub is easy to access through a front deck level. Out back is a large, partially covered deck with comfortable seating, a gas grill and incredible mountain views, making it an ideal setting for hosting a barbecue.

Beautiful relaxing home

My 4 friends, spouse, and I decided to have a couple's get away. We were limited in choices of cabins that would accommodate all of us, but we are glad to have found this one. The accommodations were very comfortable. We would stay here again.

Where do I begin… No disrespect to the owner what a blessing and luxury it must be to own a cabin in Ruidoso, NM? However the property needs a significant amount of TLC, is in no way in rental shape. The cabin was dirty, floors, spider webs everywhere, greasy forks, blender full of dried food left over from last use. Using extension cords for permanent wiring which is a huge fire hazard. Two queen beds were terrible considered driving home a day early to avoid sleeping on bed another night. TV in one of the was not hooked up to cable or app so basically of no use. Plus dealing with V-Trip in Ruidoso was a nightmare there customer service transparency and policy were extremely frustrating to endure. Issues with pet policy, additional fees and their method of collecting those fees. Been stay in cabins Ruidoso for over two decades… This is by far the worst experience Weber ever had I would not recommend this cabin or dealing with V-Trip to anyone.
Extension cord spliced into light fixture wiring in most rooms.

Climbing Tree

We really enjoyed our stay!! It’s convenient to everything! The stairs are no joke. There is not or we just didn’t see how to turn on any lights at the ground level. It was dark when we arrived. We used the flashlight on our phones. Parking is tight. 2 cars is definitely the max. The decor was nicely done and warm. We will go back!!

Filthy sheets with feces on sheets. Was upgraded to great property. Climbing Cub property should be deleted from property offered and house keeping employee should be immediately fired.

Good location

Be prepared to climb a lot of steps! The listing states that it has a dishwasher but it doesn’t. It also has amenities as granite, handicapped accessible which it doesn’t have. The porch has a gate which was great to keep our dog in.

Nice cabin, exorbitant "admin" fees, below average customer service

I'll start with the good. The cabin itself is GREAT! We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was awesome and a welcome respite from the heat back home. A word of caution.... if you have trouble climbing stairs, this is NOT the place for you. I am less and less a fan of VRBO. As soon as you book, they transfer your trip to some other company. That company, of course, adds on more fees. The fees for this rental were outrageous and practically doubled the amount we had to pay. By most any standard I would think that counts as exorbitant. I will seek other options in the future. We were NOT impressed with the local leasing office. We got there early and we knew we were early. We didn't want to check in early, but did want to drop by and see if we could go ahead and sign anything or pick up anything. The leasing office is several miles from the cabin. I was told they couldn't do anything right then because the cabin wasn't ready and to come back later, which was okay since I was early. When I went back closer to check in time, I was expecting to get keys since I had to show up in person. NOPE! I was given two sets of door codes. One in case I got there early. The other was the main code that I would use after 4:00 and for the rest of the trip. I was also given an info packet which could have easily just been left at the cabin. I get not being able to check in early and that wasn't a big deal. I do NOT appreciate having to drive all the way across town twice to get a code that could have been emailed or texted to me and that didn't even work until check in time! A ridiculous waste of time and gas, which was a HIGH when we took this trip! Finally, the brochure they gave us was NOT welcoming at all. It seemed like every line ended with, "Or you will be charged a penalty." It was like they were looking for a reason to charge us even more money on top of the outlandish fees we had already paid. We spent the whole trip hyper vigilant to make sure we followed all the directions to a T to avoid more charges. The cabin was really nice, but I'm not sure I'll use VRBO again at all and certainly won't deal with the ridiculous rules and petty instructions from that local "service" company.

awesome place if you want to get away for a little bit, wish it was more into the forest and didn't have that many neighbors.... the area a little cluttered BUT the cabin itself makes up for it. beautiful place overall.

Cute Cabin

This is a cute cabin, beautiful New Mexican decor, andnice overall space. Well stocked kitchen including salt, pepper, coffee filters, sugar, etc. Lots of towels! Two nice decks, and a gate allowed us to let our dog out without fear of him getting out. I would definitely stay here again. Please note, however, that there are stairs up to the property and some are not in good shape.

Great cozy home with fenced backyard!

Had a great time in this cozy and well decorated home! The deck is large and a great place to hangout and stargaze. The open family room and kitchen was really nice. Will definitely stay here again in the future. Only suggestion, add some solar lights to wood staircase railing. Staircase is an awesome feature to the home but hard to see at night.

Climbing Cub

Very peaceful and well decorated place to stay. Enjoyed the fireplace and the two patios. I was able to shut a gate and keep the pups from getting out. Close to town. The only draw back is climbing all the stairs. I’d do it again, I would just pack lighter.

The cabin is beautiful, very cozy and comfortable. You have everything you need supplied.

Very clean, well kept cabin. Decorated in SW style, very cozy and inviting. We felt totally at home and comfortable. Quiet neighborhood with deer visiting midmorning. Close to downtown Ruidoso and surrounding attractions. Will rent again in future and highly recommend.

As high as the reviews are it still exceeded my expectations. It really is a great place. During the holidays the cabin had a beautiful Christmas tree. What you see is what you get and more.

Mountain Retreat

My wife and I enjoyed the cabin so much with the big front deck and fenced in back yard. The artwork inside was awesome!! Bedroom, fireplace, kitchen, and living room were all cozy and perfect to hang out in after a day of hiking and exploring. Neighborhood was peaceful and super cool.
