Accommodations
The first step at Porte17 leads to a cozy 18m² entryway, featuring a coat rack, an armchair with a coffee table, and a hand sanitizer dispenser. The first door leads to a guest restroom with a sink.
The second door opens into a breathtaking living space, with 135 m² of floor area and a ceiling that reaches up to 6 meters in height in some places. The traditional wooden framework, brick pillars, metal beams, and the imposing workshop doors—one made of wood and the other of iron, dating back to the building’s origins—immerse you in the authenticity of the space.
This room features underfloor heating throughout and several air conditioning units. There is a sitting area with a 190-cm Samsung TV offering cable channels, internet access, and Netflix. An imposing coffee table and two large corner sofas, which also serve as extra sleeping spaces, complete the space.
There is a dining area. A 2.90-meter solid oak table is perfect for your most indulgent meals. It is surrounded by comfortable fabric chairs. The adjoining black kitchen flows seamlessly into the staircase, creating an even more harmonious look. When you open the cabinet doors, you’ll find a microwave, an oven, a sink, a dishwasher, a stovetop, a bean-to-cup coffee maker, tea, and a refrigerator stocked with welcome drinks before your arrival.
This open space also includes the game room. There’s a door on the back wall, but let’s not worry about that for now—we’ll come back to it later.
For now, I invite you to step back into the bar of your childhood with authentic café games, a vintage Banzini B60 foosball table, and a pool table—both equipped with real Franc coin slots (so you can play for free now). The wall-mounted Bluetooth speaker will set the beat for your evenings, and to keep the laid-back vibe going, there’s a bar table in the room in front of the glass wall, offering a breathtaking view of the 17m² indoor pool, heated to 29.5° year-round—you’ll have no excuse not to take a dip.
The pool area also features a Bluetooth speaker, heated flooring, and a ladder for easy entry and exit from the water. The white pool liner, the walls clad in white marble, the Venetian stucco, as well as the metal beams of the roof structure and the glass roof ensure a chic appearance. A passageway through the wall transports you to an entirely different atmosphere, keeping in mind the purpose of this property: relaxation. You’ll find a 3-person spa heated to 37°, a sauna, a walk-in shower, and a restroom accessible to guests with limited mobility. Illuminated cornices will lend the decor a more intimate and sophisticated feel.
The 40 m² outdoor terrace is adjacent. The patio furniture is just waiting for you. It features a pergola for shade and ashtrays for smokers. Fences ensure privacy and comfort.
Let’s take a few steps back—when we passed through the game room, we didn’t pay much attention to that famous door. Let’s take a look.
A magnificent suite lies hidden behind it—we’ll call it the “Bird Room”—featuring a king-size bed, a wardrobe, underfloor heating, air conditioning, a TV, and all the comforts you need. There’s also a separate toilet to avoid having to get up in the middle of the night, and to top it off, a magnificent bathroom with a mirrored towel warmer, a resin sink, and a beautiful walk-in shower measuring 0.80 x 1.10 m.
Let’s head back one more time to the living area.
At the top of the stairs is the second suite, which we’ll call the “Sky” bedroom. It also features a king-size bed, a TV, a closet, and air conditioning. The “Sky Room” opens onto an open-concept bathroom, where you’ll find a magnificent freestanding bathtub, a resin sink, and a toilet area with a discreet door.
In a nutshell, Porte17 is an authentic, chic, and relaxing place.
