Spacious Charming Hyde Park Cottage - Walk Everywhere!

Location, location, location! Welcome to our Historic Hyde Park cottage blocks from Bayshore, steps to Bern’s Steakhouse, and a short walk to Hyde Park Village and numerous restaurants and watering holes!!! This charming 2/1 (queen/twin), second story carriage house is in the heart of Historic Hyde Park and SoHo, and is a perfect getaway for the vacationer, remote worker/professional, Tampa Convention Center visitors (2 miles/easy Uber), MacDill AFB visitors, parent of local college kids, or locals who want a “staycation” in the city.

The 850sf cottage is on the 2nd floor above the garage in a detached building from the main house. There is a flight of stairs behind the outside door, and another lockable door at the top of the stairs. We are open to longer term stays; please inquire via the message string. Please ask about amenities in our well-equipped kitchen. The master bedroom enjoys an upgraded Nectar queen mattress. Enjoy the plush Turkish cotton bath towels!

The cottage has a private entrance, well-equipped kitchen, full-size fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, central heat and air, fast WiFi with enhanced security with automatic VPN, hardwood floors throughout, new living room furniture, a smart TV, assortment of board games for rainy days, plenty of storage/countertop space, and off street parking. The cottage has two bedrooms with a queen in the master, and a twin bed with a desk and reading chair in the small bedroom. We provide YouTube TV (cable substitute), and all the other popular streaming services are available with your logon credentials. Don’t forget to log out before you leave! In addition, the Samsung TV has numerous viewing options.

Off-street parking is generally available in the driveway as the owner uses the rear garage door alley entrance for vehicle access; the owner will advise on the message string should he need the driveway during your stay. A BBQ grill is available for guest use on the back patio; directions are included in the House Manual. Guests are welcome to use the outdoor furniture on the back porch of the house.

We are close to the Tampa Convention Center, MidFlorida Amphitheater, Amalie Arena, Raymond James Stadium, Armiture Works/The Heights Public Market, downtown, Tampa International Airport, Ybor City, Tampa’s downtown Riverwalk, Hyde Park Village, and MacDill AFB. Busch Gardens is about 20 minutes away, and Pinellas County beaches are about 45 minutes away.

Great Spot!

This was my second time at this property, and, just like the first stay, it was awesome. I go to Tampa often on business, and having a place in a great neighborhood, close to work it such a pleasure. Devin and Pam are also awesome hosts!

This place is a real gem. Perfect for my wife and I. Our intent was to stay and visit our grandson, who lived 8 minutes from us. We cooked a few home grown meals while there and kitchen was well stocked. it was clean, cozy and comfortable. I’m sure his mom and dad will be inquiring about this place for future visits. The owner was super friendly and answered all our inquiries quickly. You can’t go wrong with his place.

We thoroughly enjoyed the little apartment during our stay. Devin and Pam were great hosts. They made the check in, stay, and check out process a breeze. The cottage apartment was easy to access, very clean, and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone!

Hyde Park Carriage House Gem

This wonderful carriage house is in the middle of it all. I highly recommend a stay here. Although our stay was for work purposes, what little time we had was wonderful. Hyde Park is a gorgeous neighborhood and I highly recommend a visit.

UT College move in. Weekend stay.

This was the very first rental property we stayed at when we first came to Tampa 2 years ago to move our daughter into U.T. and it set the standard for us. It is a beautiful home in a safe, quiet, beautiful neighborhood. Walking distance to Bayshore Rd and several fine restaurants nearby. University of Tampa is only a few minutes away. I highly recommend this property. Devin and Pam are great hosts.

Wonderful sanctuary to rest while moving dry out of college dorm.

Very clean and inviting. Plenty of room to relax. Wish we had more time relaxing, hopefully we will return in the fall. Host was very attentive. Safe neighborhood.

Perfection

Our first stay in the area since our son moved down to Tampa. So clean, comfortable beds, amenities are top level.. and we easily walked around the corner and had a choice of restaurants. I worked out daily and felt save on the sidewalks at all times. I cannot say enough about this place and the owners. We will be back!

This is near everything and yet quiet.

The place has plenty of room and everything you’ll need for a stay of any length. The gracious hosts are excellent communicators and very accommodating yet mindful of your privacy. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent Stay in Hyde Park

The perfect location!

From start to finish, we enjoyed our stay at this great property. Devin is an amazing host and has the home setup perfectly with everything you need. Super close walking distance to Berns and many other great restaurants. Hype park is an amazing area and we will never stay any where else when we visit Tampa. Great Home Base for Exploring Tampa

My husband and I had 3 days to explore Tampa and the cottage was a perfect home base. Really nice walkable neighborhood with restaurants and coffeeshops close by, easy access to the highway and a comfy bed to come back to at the end of a long day. We would definitely stay here again!

I'm a Tampa Bay native and renovated my c. 1925 Craftsman Bungalow that I have owned for 30 years in Hyde Park, S. Tampa in 2017-2018. During this time I lived in my detached 2br/1ba garage apartment. Back in my house since 2019, I have shared the cottage with travelers for 6 years! I have hosted several folks from around the world in my home via Couchsurfing, so I'm familiar with the hosting concept. I frequently use this online community as well as short-term rentals to stay with locals when I travel the world. "See the world" and "collect experiences over things" are my mottos!
