Cozy 2 bedroom lakeside cottage with stunning views and lots to enjoy - no matter what the season. Relax in the living room with wonderful view of the lake, large 50 inch flat screen TV, wifi, and games. The large well equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking meals to eat in the dining area with view of the water or you can grill on the deck. A laundry room and half bath round out the downstairs. Upstairs, a luxury king bed in master with TV and balcony. Two twin beds in second bedroom upstairs can convert to king. Upstairs hall bath with large bathtub and shower combo. Queen pullout sofa bed in living room gives you a little extra sleeping space for two more guests. Great amenities, awesome lake views, and so much to do in the Hood Canal/Shelton area makes this house the perfect getaway. 3 flights of stairs from house down to dock on lake.

Absolutely wonderful property and excellent owners. SO clean, comfortable, maintained, & thoughtfully prepared. Softest towels I've ever had in a vacation rental by far. Really it feels like the owners put a lot of consideration into the big and little things that make a difference. We had abit of a hiccup with the thermostat but the owners were super responsive and got a fix in place as soon as it was possible to do so.There are a LOT of stairs down to the dock, but kept in good repair, just keep in mind for any mobility challenged guests. We had a great time with our own kayaks every day, but they do have kayaks and life jackets there in the boathouse if you need. Will definitely stay again, thanks so much Kate and John!

We loved our four‑night stay! The cottage was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. Waking up to the lake views was incredible, and evenings by the fire were a highlight. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!We just returned from a wonderful four‑night stay at this lakeside cottage, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The home is spotless, well‑equipped, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and the living space was cozy yet spacious enough for our group.The highlight was the setting—waking up to serene views of Lost Lake each morning was unforgettable. We loved spending time around the wood-burning stove in the evenings, and the private dock made it easy to enjoy the water during the day. The stairs down to the lake are a bit of a workout, but the reward at the bottom is absolutely worth it.The location was also perfect: just a short drive from Seattle, but it felt like a peaceful retreat far from the city. Communication with the hosts was smooth and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.After four nights here, we left feeling refreshed and already talking about when we can come back. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.

Summer respite

A friend and I gave our sons a break from the city and on-line games, and they delighted in the lake and swimming. Being able to use the kayaks was a great opportunity. This property is meticulously maintained, and very thoughtful.

Get Lost at Lost Lake

The pictures of Kate's place don't do it justice. Everything was immaculate, new/proper working order, every necessity and detail you could think of was provided for which made for one of our most extremely comfortable stays at a VRBO. Even tennis balls and dog bowls for our 4-legged family member. We loved the friendly, small-town feel of the neighborhood. Going for walks, fishing, bbq'ing on the deck, reading a good book, and playing board games together were the only things on our agenda and we loved every minute of it. Many adventures were had and the kids now have many fond memories to come home with. We hope to return soon! Thanks, Horn family! -Ko & Rhoda

A peaceful retreat

It was our second time to stay here and we really love it. We appreciate that Kate and family have thought about every little thing in the house. We were able to take advantage of the kayaks this time and explore the lake. The place is very quiant and peaceful. If you want a home away from home, this is it.

Unforgettable Christmas weekend

The Christmas weekend at Lake Lost was an unforgettable experience. The home was decorated for Christmas. When we arrived, Friday, the landscape was green and beautiful. Saturday, December 25, we woke up with snow, and the landscape was white. Our days at the Cottage were full of enjoying the view wherever we were, living room, dining room, and bedroom. There is a good space around the Cottage where we could enjoy the snow and take a lot of pictures. The Cottage is very well equipped, with all that we need for the weekend. We cooked, we prepared a beautiful Christmas Eve table, with the fireplace on. Saturday, even with the snow, when it stopped for an hour we made an amazing barbecue on the balcony, that barbecue was epic! The shower and beds were also very good, we slept very well. Sunday, we needed leave, with a lot of snow (and Kate helped us get on the road safely) with the memory of a great weekend and thinking when we can go back to the Cozy Lake Cottage.

Tranquil and beautiful

The house is exactly as seen in the pictures. The decor is beautiful and has everything we needed. The welcome treats were a nice thing to come into. The host is great with communication when needed. The views of the lake was everything my soul needed to get away and decompress. My husband and I plan on coming back next year a bit earlier in the year to enjoy all of the amenities the boat house has to offer.

Lake Cottage Review

This place was so perfect for our family vacation. It was clean and welcoming. The lake was so beautiful and my family appreciated the use of the Kyaks. We never had to leave because the house had everything we needed for the long weekend. Kate was easy to get ahold of and she was very accommodating. Thank you Kate for opening up your home to us.

We stayed in this lovely Lakehouse for three nights. Very relaxing. Comfortable beds. Everything you need. Enjoyed the kayaks another lake toys. We would return here in a heartbeat!

This is definitely a property we will visit again!

The lake view was beautiful, very peaceful and cozy place to stay. We were very impressed with the set up and layout of the home. This was probably one of the most clearly thought out locations I’ve stayed. From fishing poles & floaties, to dishes, serving ware, pots and pans, all the way down to the smallest detail, such as outlet plug ins in the bedrooms with multiple plug ins and USB outlets for phones. It encompassed all the modern conveniences. I was also in touch with the property owner a couple of times, regarding check in and other small details. She was fast to respond and very kind, helpful and welcoming. Our friends came to visit for dinner and loved the cabin as well. They are now talking about booking a stay. This is definitely a place you don’t want to miss!!

Wonderful!

We loved this cozy, special place on Lost Lake. We came with our three kids and had a great time. Waking up with that gorgeous lake view every morning was priceless! The house is clean and every detail has been thought of. All of the special touches were noted. We would definitely recommend this place and will would love to return!

Relaxing Cottage with everything you need

My family and I absolutely LOVED our time at Kate’s cottage. It was very clean and comfortable for the 6 of us plus my 2 dogs. I was impressed with all the small details that made our stay so much better! We loved the outdoor space also! Had a blast using both fire pits and kayaks. Lost Lake is a peaceful place to escape to! Wonderful Lake House

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was as advertised, with creature comforts (wifi, new washer/dryer, 2 new Smart TVs) that make it easy to stay "plugged in" or choose to unplug. The owner was accessible whenever we called, and the lake is a hidden gem.

Lost Lake Gem

Never been to that area before but I can see why people live or have 2nd homes on that lake. Home is compact but once you add your ability to go sit out on the 2 levels prior to dock, you have all the space you could need! Place was immaculate, communication flawless. Will be back!

Amazing home and location

This house was fantastic, we rented Kate's home to celebrate my fiancée's 40th birthday with our dog. The home was incredibly clean and well stocked with plenty of kitchen items for cooking up a good meal and baking a cake (brought my own cake pans). The views of the lake are amazing from all of the deck spaces and the bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable! Kate was very helpful and communicative and provided all the info and photos we would possibly need, she even offered to let us shift our dates due to the snow if we needed to! I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a good lake getaway, I'm sure it would be fantastic in the summer, only thing to note is that there are lots of steps. But thats what makes for the great views!

Here for work

House was 5 star everything- they left an amazing arrival package of goodies. Such nice sheets, appliances, tv channels , huge bath. Would love to come in summer but saw sun and rain and snow. Was gorgeous and nice to come back to every day from work. Only FYI is lots of stairs to lake and in house, not for the weak knees! and lots of loose dogs on walks. Highly recommend.

Peaceful Vacation on the Lake

We had a wonderful and relaxing vacation here. Our weather was rain, wind and some snow one night. We had a few breaks in the weather and we took a daily walk with our 2 pups. There were many friendly 4 legged friends we got to meet. One would join us every day for the walk, we eventually found out her name js Remington. The house is well designed for comfort and the hosts have done a great job in the little details that make things cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked for ourselves all week. We would love to come back in the Summer as well to be able to get on the lake and enjoy some outdoor fire time.

Our family purchased this lakefront cottage as the perfect weekend get away. We enjoy everything about lake life during the summer and quiet cozy weekends in winter. There is lots to explore by car and on foot in the surrounding area between downtown Shelton, the Hood Canal, and Olympia. We hope you love it as much as we do. Welcome to lake life!
