Ski-In/Out Luxury Lodge/Panoramic Sky High Views/Beech MTN

Retreat to the spacious deck of this newly renovated mile high cabin and indulge in the spectacular mountain views of Grandfather mountain, Sugar mountain, and the backbone of the Appalachian mountains. This perfectly located home is nestled steps away from the wonderful slopes of Beech Mountain Ski Resort. The space features an open-concept layout and has all the amenities to make for an incredible getaway!

Every window of the newly renovated "Eighth Wonder Lodge" offers stunning mountain views (5280' elevation) and is only steps aways from the ski slopes of Beech Mountain. During the winter it is the perfect location for skiing and snowboarding, while the other seasons offer an ideal getaway for hiking, mountain biking, and sightseeing.

When you step inside, the open concept upper floor features expansive glass doors and windows offering long range panoramic mountain views. The fully furnished kitchen and cooking area with bar space extends into the living room where the magnificent stone gas fireplace provides a cozy environment after a long day of skiing or outdoor activities. Step outside to the 2 level outdoor deck and utilize the gas grill to prepare a meal or enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor furniture.

On the lower level, 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms provide the utmost privacy for guests. The master bedroom is equipped with a king sized bed, Roku TV, washer and dryer, and private sliding door access to the exterior deck. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sized bed with Smart TV, while the 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds, a Roku TV, and Playstation 4. Hulu and Netflix are provided for streaming. Each room is equipped with individual wall heaters to allow you to have the perfect temperature for your stay.

Local attractions including Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk Winery, Grandfather Winery, Tweetsie Railroad, Sugar Mountain, Linville Caverns, Whitewater Rafting, Ziplining, and Sugar Creek Gemstone Mine and Mystery Hill are only a short drive away! Brick oven pizzeria, Holy Smokes BBQ, Town Sledding Hill, Freds General Mercantile, and 5506 Sky Bar (top of Beech Mountain) are all within walking distance.

** The winter climate can be extremely cold and snowy, so plan accordingly. 4WD/AWD or snow chains are HIGHLY recommended**

We had a wonderful trip. We went my my sisters family. We have teens and little ones. It was a great location for me teens to take off on the slopes on their own. They came and went all week. We also have little ones so we walked down to the sledding hill each day as well. Highly recommend Brick oven pizza and their arcade. The host was very responsive within minutes. Make sure if it’s winter you have 4 wheel drive. Even if it doesn't snow, the wind blows the snow from the ski lift snow make and it snows at the house.

I typically spring for a hotel but with limited options in this little ski town we went for the vrbo option. Jessica the owner is super responsive and I can tell she has put the work in to make her vaca rental super cute and cozy. She doesn’t skip on toiletries and had the unit even decorated for Christmas. It’s in a great location and you cannot beat the sunset and sunrise view.

Wonderful experience!

My family and I enjoyed our time in this rental. It was comfortable, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. The updated bathrooms are very well done and the owners have thought of everything including board games, extra blankets, and a binder full of nearby attractions/helpful information. Communication with the owner was exceptional and she always answered me immediately through VRBO. Most importantly, the location cannot be beat and we were able to enjoy the ski slopes right outside of the front door of the rental. We will be back!

Everything was perfect

The house is beautiful with everything we wanted. Large, open kitchen\living area, cozy beds, super-nice bathrooms, & plenty of hot water! It was very cold during our stay but house was very warm & the gas logs mage it even better. The views were amazing. We could just walk out to the slope. We had a question & called the owner who answered our call & was very kind & helpful. Overall, everything was perfect.

What an amazing cabin!!!!!

First time visit to Beech Mountain, and it was amazing! I’m so glad we found this property. Perfect location for ski in/ski out convenience, amazing views, cabin had everything we could ask for, and more. The fireplace with picturesque mountain view through the windows was my favorite. The owners responded immediately with any questions that we had. Perfect perfect perfect is all I can say. We cannot wait to come back next year!!!! If I could give more that 5 stars I would.

Scenic location near the top of Beech Mountain

We absolutely loved our time here. We make a trip to the mountains a few times a year and have stayed in several different locations throughout Banner Elk and Beech Mountain. This locations was by far our favorite. We will be looking to see if the one is available when we come back this way!

The perfect ski in/out with a view!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Eighth Wonder Lodge. The house was clean and updated, with excellent views and a very short walk to the slopes. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and had plenty of space, and the kids loved the bunk beds! Each room has its own heat so you can adjust to suit your ideal temperature. Be prepared to wake up to a gorgeous winter wonderland when the snow making machines are on. We are looking forward to our next trip to Beech Mtn and will definitely stay here again!

Dream vacation spot!

I wish I could give this house more than a 5/5 rating!! The owners were very responsive and flexing to help us with whatever we needed to accommodate our family and three children under the age of 4. The house is so cozy and open making room for lots of visiting and a stunning view from the porch overlooking the mountains. The proximity to the slopes of Beech Mountain Ski Resort were perfect and gave our family lots of flexibility when trying to ski and entertain the kids. Can’t recommend these owners and this house enough!! Will absolutely be renting again :)

Excellent location and comfort to ski in n out

The bbq grill was not operational. The propane hoses were all disconnected. No place to unpack clothes for any length of stay. Only have clothes bars to hang. There is plenty of room in MB to have a dresser, would have been convenient. Make sure u have 4 wheel drive. I saw many people stuck n I pulled 1 neighbor car’s from being stuck. Beech making snow n it all blows into these himes n mail road.
