Lake Escape - Private Getaway near Tygart Lake State Park

The Lake Escape is a charming getaway nestled adjacent to Tygart Lake State Park: a retreat that offers year 'round opportunities. This cottage is private yet steps away from the features of the park. Our property is situated just 0.8 mi from the Lake Marina, 0.4 mi from the swimming area, 3 mi from the Lodge Restaurant, and adjacent to hiking, biking, picnic areas and playground. Whether you are looking for peace and relaxation or prefer outdoor adventure the Lake Escape welcomes you.

Being a remote location, the house has water supplied by a well which can at times have a sulfur smell to it. For those who are used to public water this may be unfamiliar. It is safe and there is a large water dispenser and water supplied for drinking for those that prefer.

We have stayed here the last 2 years at Christmas time to meet up with family. The house is perfect for having our family being able to gather and have our Christmas dinner and gift giving. The house has everything to cook a large Christmas dinner. There is so much seating that everyone is comfortable. The host has always been very available. We know we can just arrive at the house and everything we need is there.

Get away stay

We had a great time here. Well stocked, had everything we needed. Lots of room inside and out, enjoyed the fire pit. Tygart lake lodge had good food. Valley falls was a great place to visit. Would definitely go back.

Tygart Lake Vacation

This lake is one of the best kept secrets in West Virginia. Love the area the house was set up perfectly and in an excellent location. We will be rent this in the future.

It was great place to stay. The house was cozy and had enough room to spread out. The communication was quick and easy to work with. I’d like to go back when it is warmer and the lake is full.

Honeymoon Stay

Long weekend at a great stay. Not far from the lake and trails. The house was clean and neat, peaceful and quiet. We loved the Scrabble board hanging on the wall, it made for some subtle competition. Would definitely rent this place again!

Family get together

The property was amazing. We love the proximity to the marina as my husband and son love to fish. We really enjoyed the deck and fire pit. The interior is very spacious and comfortable. Excellent stay.

Beautiful property, extremely quiet setting, fall leaves provide a gorgeous backdrop, very comfortable and clean accommodations, stocked with coffee and tea, even providing guests with some chocolates and candy as a welcome surprise, great place to stay, we recommend this property wholeheartedly

As avid travelers we have had the opportunity to see many parts of the world, but as lifelong residents of West Virginia we have found Tygart Lake one of our favorite spots for relaxing getaways, out of mainstream and full of adventurous opportunities. Our enjoyment of this area is what we want to share with you.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Lake Escape is very unique to Tygart Lake as it is one of a very limited number of properties that lies within steps of the State Park, as close as you can be to the amenities offered by Tygart Lake.
Lake Escape offers the shortest walk to the Swim Park (4min) and Marina (15min) of any dwelling near Tygart Lake. Multiple hiking trails are within a few hundred yards of the door.
The property is secluded in a wooded setting with lots of wildlife and privacy, and yet just a few hundred yards from the park road, nature center, and large play ground.
The lake road is an amazing, shaded, level road for exercise and recreation.
