MOUNTAIN BEAUTY AWAITS. MINUTES FROM BRYCE RESORT.

Welcome to your mountain getaway, The OROS RETREAT. OROS comes from the Greek word meaning mountain. We had been looking for over two years to find a mountain house to call our home away from home. The OROS is it for us We invite you to share our mountain experience with us.

Completed renovated in late 2021, OROS is a short 5 minute drive from the well-appointed Bryce resort, that features your desired outdoor pursuit for any season: skiing, hiking, mountain biking, ice skating, trail running, fishing, snow tubing, frisbee golf, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, golfing, pickleball and tennis.

Every wish-list item is met with an amazing upper level fully equipped kitchen, elegant primary suite, two more large bedrooms, an open concept great room, a screened in porch, and a wrap-around deck with seating and a grill. The newly designed finished lower level boasts a large second primary suite (4th Bedroom), with a spacious comfortable sitting area. The sitting area is situated with an office space with wifi printer to meet your business needs. The basement level also features a game room with foosball, board games, arcade with 60 old school games, large TV, and a Harry Potter bunk for the child in everyone. In NOV of 2022, we finished walk-out area with an elegant patio and landscaping to finish off our third (3) outdoor space location at OROS.

Nestled on the edge of a quiet cul-de-sac with MANY natural escapes and enough parking for 6 cars, OROS is easily accessed from Northern Virginia at 1.75 hrs, Washington DC at 2.0 hrs, Harrisburg, VA at 35 minutes, and Woodstock, VA at 20 minutes.

We enjoyed our stay - loved that everything was stocked. I thought I had brought everything we needed, and didn't even thing of making French Toast - and there it was Vanilla and Cinnamon! Family loved that I was able to make that for them. Kids have a blast in the game room - close to the slopes - very enjoyable!

Beautiful property and location

Excellent communication and hospitality from the owner. The house has been recently remodeled and is really nicely furnished. Near a lot of great parks and Civil War sites. I would definitely bring my family back here.

Great place to gather and enjoy nature

We really enjoyed staying here, the house was nice and spacious, there was plenty to do at the house and in the area, and Christine and Alex were welcoming and prompt with responses! The kitchen and dining area were great for large families to gather to cook and eat. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and inviting to stay in. We were really happy with our stay!

Great Property, great stay

The house was amazing, there was so much for our party of 10 to have all the room we needed! The kids (and adults) loved the play room specifically the arcade machine. Alex and Christine were great at communicating with us and making our stay great. The proximity to Bryce Resort was a huge plus so we could go skiing. Would 100% recommend and we can't wait to visit again during the summer time.

Great comfortable place, great location

Really enjoyed this place. Was quiet and very roomy. Description and photos were accurate. Had a large group and never felt crowded. Two large living rooms allowed everyone to spread out. Also, nice easy drive down to the ski resort (5 min or less as long as didn't miss the turns) so made it really easy to get back and fourth. Would definitely stay here again.

Holiday ski weekend

The house was very clean with nice upgrades and fully stocked with everything one could need. There was plenty of room for our teens to have their own space away from the adults. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property.

Perfect family getaway

Absolutely wonderful layout was perfect kids played in the gameroom in the basment most the time. Parents relax up stairs cooked on the grill made a fire outside in there beautiful burn pit excellent layout by the way. 5 minutes from bryce resort where we snow tubed that was nice and clean place was absolutely clean nice freshly remolded beautiful home higly recommend.

OROS Retreat for the Win!

Alex and Christine’s mountain home is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The children were able to have fun in the game room while my wife and I relaxed upstairs. Beds and bathrooms were top notch and the open kitchen design was perfect for everyone. The restaurant-like seating was a huge hit for the kids! We would highly recommend their home if you are looking to spend some quality time in the Bryce Resort area.

Great Thanksgiving getaway

This was the perfect place for our family to stay during Thanksgiving! Coming from Florida, it was such a a wonderful experience to be surrounded by the beauty and serenity of Bryce Resort. The house was the perfect size for our group of 8; having bedrooms both upstairs and downstairs gave everyone enough personal space and the common areas were well equipped. Traveling with three small kids (ages 1, 3, and 5) is no easy task but OROS had everything we needed from kids utensils, to books, toys, and more. There was a wide variety of activities and experiences conveniently located that we all enjoyed. We will never forget our time here and highly recommend it to anyone considering a mountain getaway.

Young Family of 5

Quiet, beautiful views, mountain air, wooded lot. Baby friendly (9 month old) with fun (wooded lot, game room and 2 TVs) for our 8 yo and 11 yo. Burgers and hotdogs on the grill and even built 2 camp fires for s'mores. Took a few walks along many of the rarely used streets - there are several available 2-mile loops for some moderate exercise.

Weekend getaway

Very nice place with a well-stocked kitchen with appliances and plates. We had eight adults and we’re plenty comfortable in the large living space. Loved the screened porch and the outside space with a fire. Only negatives were the spider webs and the rats nest inside the grill cover (but it is, after all, in the woods) and the misunderstanding of the futon as part of the bunk bed and not a separate sleeping area.

Wonderful space for relaxation in the woods

We absolutely loved our stay at this clean, spacious, well equipped cabin in a gorgeous wooded setting. Highly recommend!

Great location and very quiet.

We loved the house. It was perfect for our family and the gameroom was a big sucess. We were however a little dismayed that the house was not very clean when we got there. Whoever the owners have cleaning the home should know that the floors were dirty and there was dog hair on the furniture especially downstairs and under the beds. Also, there was only 2 wash cloths provided for a family of 8. Overall we loved our stay and hope stay again.

We are a family that loves adventure and loves the mountains. If we could play at Bryce Resort all year long, we would. However, work, sports, activities and other things prevent us from being there as much as we would like, and so we wanted other families to experience the fun and joy of the house, Bryce Resort, and Shenandoah Valley. We completed gutted the place and finished the basement to make it comfortable for families to stay and play together. We want everyone to enjoy it as much as we do and we would love for you to be our guest.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We fell in love with the Bryce resort area the first day we visited it. It is a little gem in the Shenandoah mountains. We love this particular property because it is only 1.5 miles from the resort, yet feels remote surrounded by woods. It is also on a flat piece of land with ample parking and easy access for the little ones and older ones. We also loved the lay out, there are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms which makes it comfortable for 2 families or various friends and then also has two open areas for together time. The kitchen area is open to the great room upstairs and the game room/family room is a great location to spend time together downstairs.

The layout makes easy access for both little ones and older ones. The family area on the ground level features a 65" Smart TV, sectional sofa, along with a Foosball table, old-school arcade with 60 game options, corn hole, and plenty of board games for families and friends to unwind and spend some fun time together.
