Beautiful 1 bedroom condo on top floor with superb view of ocean and year round sunsets. This condo is in the oceanfront complex of the Kona Reef on the top floor. It is an end unit and has windows in each room for view and cool breezes. There is a Master bedroom, a kitchen, living/ding area (with a sleeper sofa) lanai, and modern bath.
Fully equipped with full kitchen, washer and dryer, living room, dining area, and bedroom with queen bed. Nicely upgraded with new appliances, new cabinets, new flooring, remodeled bath, and freshly painted.
After flying thousands of miles, you deserve a clean comfortable unit that you can enjoy for your stay. This condo will fit that requirement.

Condo was perfect. We've stayed in 6 other units here and it was one of the best. Everything we needed and the lanai and view were the best part. Great communication with Ken and Jim. Would definitely come back

We had a wonderful week. The condo while not perfect was very comfortable and in a great location. We even saw some dolphins this morning before we left. Thank you for the rental.

Family reunion

The unit is comfortable the balcony view is beautiful the location on Ali’i drive is close to town and within walking distance. We were surprised by the amount of traffic noise at night on Ali’i Drive, nothing that can be remedied but something to be mindful of. We enjoyed our stay.

Big island

We love the Kona reef property but had a few issues with the unit we rented. There was no indication that the bedroom was NOT air-conditioned and it was miserably hot. There were no instructions for the TV and had to use our you tube account And the sofa bed is way past needing replaced. In spite of all that we had a wonderful time on the big island

Great view - lousy maintenance -

The view is great. The condo is poorly maintained. The sofa bed is unusable. The so called mattress is toast - no support, no filling just a bag of springs unsuitable for even a dog. The deck chairs and outside sliding door metal is completely rusted. The deck paint has failed in places. The AC works good for the living room and kitchen but does nothing for the bedroom at the other end. The bedroom even with ceiling fan and counter fan is always hot. The bed is on the too soft category for me. The bed frame at the foot had legs that stick out which cause me multiple toe injuries in the night. There is food in the fridge- left overs that are up to two years expired. The kitchen faucet is totally loose. This has been reported in previous reviews up to two years ago. The bathroom is pretty good but a vinyl seal for the shower is laying loose. A power strip in totally rusted and does not work. A bedroom clock does not work. The living room including the couch looks decent but as mentioned the sofa bed is unusable and should immediately be replaced. This problem has been in reviews for years also. It seems the management/owner of this condo does not care to fix this up as they keep getting it rented due to the amazing ocean view. The complex itself is pretty nice. There are many other good view condos in this complex that have better reviews/maintenance etc.. It is about a .4 mile walk to town. I recommend the little back road closer to the beach - no traffic and not as dangerous as up by the main road. I would not rent again this unit or again from this particular property manager Kenneth Peters. When I tried to contact him via the VRBO link the link did not work. Do not rent this unit - it needs a lot of work.

Ocean view condo

This condo is well loved . Could use some updates . The patio furniture should be replaced Dumpster is not convenient . The elevators were very useful as far transporting luggage . Easy walk to shopping and restaurants . Pool and hot tub very nice 👍 there were plenty kitchen amenities. Also plenty of bathroom amenities. Had a adventurist week in beautiful Hawaii and spent a lot of time in the balcony looking and listening to the ocean !

Overpriced poorly maintained but nice view

My mom and I stayed at this condo for a week in February. It ran about $XXXX for the week and I understand it’s Hawaii, but it was lacking in many ways. Upon checkin- the locks need graphite. The key could hardly get into the lock. The checkin info from VRBO said the WiFi login and password were on the router. Untrue. Had to text the owner for that info. He messaged me the next day. No dishwasher pellets so I called the phone number of the condo on-site office (info in the condo) and was told they don’t manage the unit I’m in so call the owner. The condo was clean but there was so much unorganized STUFF in the pantry, there was no place to put our groceries. The kitchen faucet is loose and wobbles back and forth when you turn the water on and off. There are cords everywhere! With today’s technology, about 70% of those cords could be eliminated. The condo is in need of a serious update. My sister stayed in a really nice condo closer to the downtown area, same cost and hers was about twice the size, set up for guests and also had a stunning view. Save your money and rent a vacation rental that is up to date and maintained.

Wait til you see the sunset and the whales from this condo!!

Kona reef F 21 We vacation frequently and have stayed at several VRBO properties. I would have to say that the other reviews are spot on for this condo. And, the view and location are outstanding. The owner (Kenneth) is great to work with and the on-site maintenance guy (Jim) is right there if you need anything. These were our favorite aspects of staying at this unit. *The location and view are #1 *Comfortable bed *Lots of pillows *Plenty of hangers *Plenty of fans *AC in the living room *The bathroom is very nice and the shower is great. We are tall so we loved how high the shower head was on the wall *The towels are thick *There are lots of supplies and toiletries available to use *Felt safe * I have to add the location and the view one more time☀️ When we walked to downtown Kona, we used a nice, quiet side street behind the condo instead of walking on the busy street above the entrance. This made it very quick and easy to get downtown!! This review is from February/during whale season: One morning we were enjoying our coffee and the view. We were just relaxing and then we saw 5 or 6 dolphins playing in the water. They were right in front of the condo for at least 20 minutes. They put on quite a show and then happily swam away. Then, an hour later we saw whales breaching (completely out of the water) about the length of a football field, directly in front of the complex. Being that this is a top floor unit, made it so we could see everything.

Great Location in Kona

Definitely recommend Kona Reef condo. The property has nice amenities to make the stay comfortable. The pool and patio are well kept. A small beach area is just steps away. The proximity to town restaurants and shops is walkable too.

Great view, great location.

Totally enjoyed sitting on the lanai watching the waves, the ocean, the surfers, the ships, the pool. Sunsets were awesome. Location is great, it was a short walk into Kona for breakfast, lunch and dinner, shopping,. The downside is that the back of the unit, where the bedroom is, is near Alii drive, which is very busy. and kind of noisy. The unit was comfortable. Well equiped to the point of being cluttered. The bathroom is small, owner stuff occupies all the space in the small vanity. Kitchen is well equiped but no space for our stuff. Bedroom has a dresser that was avialable, but the closset was half filled with owner stuff. Enjoyed the A/C, we didn't know Sept-Oct was the hot time of year in Hawaii. There must be a half dozen or more remote controls in the unit. Took us a while to figure out what worked what. Some instrucrtions or notes would be helpful. The place needs some maintenance/cleaning. The front entry has a screen door with a deadbolt on it We got locked in the unit because the deadbolt on the screen door broke in the locked position. We called Jim, the maintenance man, he came as quick as he could, but it was still about 20 minutes. If there was an emergency, such as a fire, this could have been dangerous. The screen door to the Lanai is badly corroded and barely functional, needs to be replaced.

Beautiful condo!

My husband and I loved our stay here! The condo was beautiful and very clean. Very well equipped with essentials and more. The complex and pool area was well maintained and the grounds were nicely landscaped. Location and views were great too. I would choose this again! Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Best of times

My husband and I joined our 3 daughters and their families … we all rented our own condos… we loved our ocean view.. the grounds, pool and the Barbque were immaculately kept clean….our room was comfortable and even though it only had one air conditioner we were never uncomfortable . We absolutely loved being walking distance to downtown with shops and and wonderful resturants… would not hesitate if I ever returned to stay at the Kona Reef… thank you
