A 3-bedroom + loft, 3-bathroom log cabin for 8 in the Chalet Village community of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Morningside 1128 is great for fun family vacations and weekends with friends. It's just minutes from Ober Gatlinburg and downtown, so you can easily grab a bite to eat, watch a dinner show, or have fun at area attractions.

Windows stretch high and frame mountain views, and hardwood floors flow throughout. Enjoy classic mountain décor as you relax in the recliner, read in the armchair, and chat with family and friends in front of the big screen TV. On cool mountain nights, enjoy unwinding in front of the wood-burning fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen has an island, full-size appliances, and enough dishes for in-cabin meals – plus a table for 6 nearby.

The sunroom features checkers and lots of light, and the rec room has a pool table, a big screen TV, and a DVD player. Relax in the hot tub on the deck, toss burgers on the gas grill for cookouts, or take advantage of the community amenities! Enjoy 3 community pools, clubhouses with games, a fitness center, tennis courts, and more.

The foundation of the cabin is sinking. Trip hazards that are trying to be hidden by thick carpet, support beams that do not carry the full transfer load safely, shims were cut to help account for the fall in the foundation. The deck had integrity issues and was in need of replacement where the hot tub was out of service and locked out with a cable, which was not in the advertisement for the property. Room off the kitchen sloped down and to the right 3 inches from the sinking of the foundation. I contacted the company and was advised this passed the city inspction. It will not allow me to post a video but a checker piece can be turn upright and placed on the floor and it rolls down and the right of the cabin.

Spectacular

We enjoyed the spectacular views of the mountains from the balcony and a Mama bear and her 3 cubs kept us entertained for over an hour… loved the peacefulness and the privacy of the location..we will be coming back🤗

Great stay on top of the mountain

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon reaching the top of the mountain overlooking Gatlinburg I was very happy with the cabin and wonderful view that we had. Not only that but the beds and furniture were all very comfy. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Mountain vacation

Everything was had described, we had plenty of space for 8, and everything worked properly. We saw bears four times, twice which sitting on the deck. We couldn’t find the cushions for the chairs that went with the deck table, so we didn’t eat outside.

Good location, but everything else needs improving

The cabin is in a wonderful location, private at the top of the mountain. The cabin itself is run down and could use some upgrades: paint and wallpaper coming off, sheets ripped, stove top doenst work properly, one cable box broken and not replaced, another TV wasn’t working, only 2 working pool cues. Double check before coming to see what’s provided: many things are bring your own, like propane for the grill and coffee filters, which have been provided at every other of the 10 VRBOs we have used in the last 3 years.

Amazing views!

The views and proximity are really unbeatable here. We saw a family of bears right off the yard in the first two hours! The property itself was a bit worn down (I.e. ripped wallpaper and carpets, loose outlet receptacles, many screens not installed), but didn’t affect our stay at all. Went in the hot tub every single morning and night which was awesome. We couldn’t really figure out how to work the tv to get regular channels (mom wanted to watch American idol lol!), but for me I could not have cared less about TV. The views from the loft bedroom were quite awesome to wake up to and the meals on the deck were amazing! Would definitely recommend for the view alone!

Beautiful and secluded cabin at the top of the mountain

The cabin was a fantastic getaway for our adult family. GPS got us to the cabin easily. It's about a 10 minute drive up the mountain from Gatlinburg, but the roads are well paved. Unlike most of the mountainside, this cabin IS private. There isn't a neighbor within hundreds of feet, and only one within line of sight. Four bedrooms across three floors, a wonderful deck for sunrise and another deck for the hot tub. Everything is clean and working, although the stove burners can be a bit challenging to use (electric stove and the stovetop burners are a bit wobbly. Literally our only complaint. So much room to spread out, pool table, kitchen with pots and pans and silverware. QUIET and beautiful with amazing views. Definitely worth it.

Spectacular view, dated cabin

You can’t beat the views from this quiet, secluded cabin and the layout was great for our family with 3 adult children. All the reviews that mention concerns about maintenance are also true. The burners on the stove still do not all work. The kitchen faucet drips and sprays you when you first turn it on. Don’t plan to grill because the gas grill was so rusted out the gas lines and internal structure is not connected to anything. Most of the outside light fixtures do not work (we tried changing lightbulbs). However the cabin was clean and we loved sitting out on the deck and taking in the view at every meal.

Beware having to send credit card pictures

After i had booked and paid with vrbo, i recieved a text asking to send my id, a selfie, and a picture of my credit card. It gave me the option to opt out and i did. Day of trip, still don't have check in information. Call and the nonhelpful person informed me i had to send information or they would cancel without giving us money back. Reluctantly sent information. Arrived at cabin and was locked out. Called again and ended up having to send my credit card picture to this persons work phone. They said this was for security but it made us feel the opposite. I shouldn't have to send more information when ive already paid through vrbo. The cabin was beautiful and the views were amazing but we will never book with cabins for you again.

Absolutely Perfect

This was an amazing choice & we will book this location again in the future ! Really don't have anyone negative to post only some "maintenance" issues I hope gets passed along. There are numerous light switches - possibly label them! One burner on the stove didn't work. The solar light caps along the deck need replaced. The hot tub jets are weak. Couldn't get the porch lights on for the lower patio area. With those being said - THE VIEW was dead on. The pictures were possibly in the fall so the leaves weren't on the limbs and we worried our view was going to be obstructed. Not at all !! It was secluded with no nearby neighbors. Beds were comfortable. We were visited by a momma bear & her cubs. She laid on the patio outside the back door !! Everyone really enjoyed themselves. As I started out, we loved it and will book this unit on our next visit !! Thank you for the process & look forward to doing business again. DEFINITELY WORTH STAYING & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great location!

There is a lot to love about this cabin! Perfect location, only few mins from Ober, and an amazing view. Two different food places on the mountain deliver. The cabin is beautiful with plenty of room. The only issue we had was it needs some repairs. The air conditioner downstairs was leaking into the hallway. The downstairs had a mold smell, I’m assuming from the leak. Cabins for You was so responsive and immediately had someone come out. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do to stop the leak. Apparently the unit needs to be replaced. So we just tried to stay upstairs. There were also ants everywhere the first day (at least 100, those beautiful trees around the deck were covered in them so they came on inside). I called Cabins for You at 9 AM and two hours later they had pest control there! Very impressed with the way they handled everything. Hot tub was working and very clean. The house really could use a deep clean though, the bathrooms/kitchen were spotless but dust was everywhere. The fans were all coated with 2 inches of dust. They are very high up, like most cabins, but really should be dusted more often. Bedrooms and fireplace covered in dust, hard when you have allergies but not enough to ruin our week! Oh the BEARS—my family really enjoyed seeing them. They came every single day, even cubs! Amazing experience. Overall we really enjoyed staying here. I’m sure the owners will be replacing the air conditioner and resolving that issue. My only concern on staying again would be the dust bc of an allergy. If you have no allergies this is a very roomy cabin with a GORGEOUS view!

Serene and peaceful with an ever changing spectacular view!!

This place provided a serene, peaceful, atmosphere with a spectacular view. There was only one cabin above ours so it was truly peaceful. The bears did come out, especially when we cooked or ate outside and we did put up a barricade of chairs, just to safety purposes. Due to Covid, there were not a lot of spices, etc. So bring your own. Also, the stove seemed to have a short so the burners would not work well. There was plenty of space for all of us and I will miss the cabin! Great place to build memories!!

Incredible view with frequent bear visits

This cabin has the best view I've ever stayed at. We had frequent bear visits. One of them I believe has been fed before (do not do this!!!). The only complaint we had were being supplied zero washcloths. We were supposed to get a welcome package I believe, but none was there. Overall we had a great stay and will most likely return.

Great Location

Beautiful location, secluded with fantastic views. This is the best location for a view of the Smoky Mountains. We were glad to have selected this for our trip. Satterfield's is nearby and delivers great BBQ here. Overall nice and relaxing stay

Amazing location in the Smokey Mountains

You will fall in love with the smokey mountains with the stunning location and views. House has plenty of space for a large group. Could use a little updating of decor and kitchen supplies but everything was clean.
