After multiple attempts via email, text, and phone call, I was unable to get a hold of the host/contact. I know they communicate via email bc I was getting an email everyday previous to our stay, during, and even after asking us to reach out if anything was not up to par or if we had questions. I was never answered or contacted back. There were some small inconveniences at the Buckeye Hut:-super bare minimum supplies, cups, dishes, cooking pots/pans (if you need something, bring it, bc it won't be there)-super tiny body soap bar that only lasts for one shower-previous visitor left some underclothes in one of the bedroom dresser drawers-I question whether this cabin was cleaned previous to our arrival or only had towels and sheets replaced-couch was dirty and had tears/holes on both arm rests-fridge is too large for the space where it is installed resulting in the fridge side not being able to be opened fully without damage to the cabin wall-the hot tub was a little bit dirtyThe main complaint that we had, however, is that the fireplace was not operational. We had two necessities when booking our romantic cabin getaway: (1) a hot tub and (2) a fireplace. We had the hot tub, but there was a sign on the fireplace indicating that bc of a natural gas supply issue, it was not currently functional. I understand that this is not the fault of the host, but we really would have appreciated advanced notice about this amenity being unavailable. We would have looked elsewhere.
