Peaceful Country Home

Country house on 3 acres with a peaceful 1.5 acre private lake perfect for a getaway from the modern busy life or in the area visiting friends and family. Enjoy the small beach area during the day and relax by the firepit or build a bonfire in the evening! Cook a meal inside or outside on the grill or order out to make it even easier! On those rainy/cold days, enjoy games inside, air hockey table or watch a movie and light the fireplace.

(We supply the first propane tank for the firepit, guests must purchase refill if continuing use of the firepit)

Nice quiet place and town

Great stay and place. Location is nice and new paved roads out front. Location is in a weird spot to get to from the main road, will need to take super sharpe right, tough as party were on motorcycles.

Laid Back Getaway

My family had a weekend trip to the area for a wedding. This was our second time staying. We enjoy the little pond and porch swing. Having easy access to kitchen and open concept living room is great for kids.

Awesome Stay

We had an awesome stay at this lake house it was so cozy and secluded the best country setting ever truly enjoyed the fishing at anytime of day or night on the property Did not get to experience the paddle boat but it was exciting to know that the activity was available for outdoor enjoyment The neighbor's dogs came to visit however, the property manager took care of that immediately. thatimmediatelappropriately orsomething.

We absolutely loved this property! From the pond with paddle boat and fishing, outdoor seating with fire pit, front porch swing, horses next door and nearby dogs that came to visit it was the most perfect setting. Kudo's to the owners! Hopefully we will have a reason to come back and visit some day!

Perfect Vacation

This property was absolutely perfect. The kids enjoyed the lake much time was spent fishing, swimming, and paddle boating. The adults enjoyed the porch and great country views. My inlaws were able to come have a cook out. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Marissa!

Much nicer than staying in a hotel!

Couple with an older Mother. Much easier than room cards, elevators, getting dressed to go out each time when something is needed. We appreciated that the house was like home.

Wonderful retreat

This property is a perfect getaway, we absolutely loved it. Our daughter spent hours in the peaceful pond and on the little beach, swimming or fishing. We loved sitting on the dock listening to the birds and watching the sunset and the stars at night. The hosts have thought of everything you may need inside and out. The home is decorated beautifully and the beds are so comfortable! We are definitely planning on a return trip soon!

Return to the Midwest

A very clean and pleasant property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visit with our eldest daughter, her fiancé, and granddaughter. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate but it did not dampen the joy of spending time with our family.We really enjoyed the house and all amenities provided! We did have to replace a toaster, but it was nothing for us to do so. We hope to be able to book this property again!

Cornfield pond

This was a great getaway from the busy city. We used it as a halfway point on our road trip. The night sky was so dark we were able to see so many stars. The house had every light switch labeled which made things super easy. We enjoyed staying in the country and had lots of privacy. We even went for a swim in the pond.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Marissa is a quiet small town with a couple restaurants and gas stations but less than 15 minutes to a small city (Sparta, IL) where you can do shopping or enjoy dinner at the local restaurants. We are also close to the World Shooting Complex and Recreation. Throughout the area there are different wineries and parks or if you want to travel a bit further we are about 30 minutes from Belleville, IL or 50 minutes from St. Louis, MO. Something in particular you are looking to do, send me a message and I will be happy to answer any questions! We hope you decide to book with us and let our house give you the relaxation you deserve!

Our property consist of a 1.5 acre private lake with a dock and small beach area to enjoy. The front porch is the length of the house with a swing to enjoy the evenings and a firepit to enhance the ambiance of the sun setting and fresh air.
