Inaccurate Listing

We arrived at the apartment to find that it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests. The shower was blocked with clumps of hair, the bed was full of hair and the floor dirty. The biggest shock was the apartment itself. Not one image on the listing showed the apartment we were given for our week long stay. There were two of us and a dog in a tiny, cramped apartment. When we spoke to the owners, they gave use some "new" bedding which appeard to have questionable red spots on both pillows. Overall, I wouldn't recommend.

Propriétaires très sympathiques Déçu des prestations, pas d’accès à la terrasse depuis l’appartement il faut sortir pour accéder à une cour accessible à tous les appartements Il faut contourner les toilettes pour pouvoir fermer la porte Salle de bain minuscule avec le lave linge en plein milieu pas pratique pour se changer

Das Gute vorneweg: Die Gegend ist wunderschön und die Croissants unseres Vermieters einsame Spitze! Wir wurden auch sehr nett von ihm empfangen, die Vermieterin selbst war leider nicht da. So konnte er auch nichts zum Zustand der Küche sagen: die Oberflächen schmutzig und klebrig, der Kühlschrank sichtbar nicht geputzt seit der letzten Belegung. Der Rest war sauber. Im Bad wurden wir gleich auf die leckende Dusche hingewiesen mit dem Hinweis, wir könnten gern nach frischen Bodentüchern fragen, wenn dieser nass sei.. Die Aufteilung in Bad und Toilette ist sehr eng und ungünstig geschnitten, für große Leute nicht zu empfehlen. Schlafzimmer war soweit okay, Bettwäsche und Handtücher müssen mitgebracht werden, Kissen und Wolldecken sind vorhanden. Die Küche ist schon sehr einfach ausgestattet, essentielle Gerätschaften lieber selbst mitbringen! Die Wohnung für 6 Leute auszuschreiben, finden wir schon ziemlich verwegen. Ordentlich geputzt und repariert und mit gutem Wetter kann man sie sich vorstellen. Schade, letzteres hatten wir auch nicht und sind deshalb früher abgereist.

Good value

A cosy base for our holiday and suitable for a family of 4 as we were. Location is perfect and owners are friendly. Could do with some small renovations but overall represented value for money in this pretty little french village.

kleine, schöne Wohnung in wunderbarer Lage

Die Wohnung ist klein, etwas spärlich ausgestattet und die leckende Dusche ist ein Problem. Aber alles andere ist fantastisch. Für das Bilderbuchwetter (7 Tage Sonne pur) kann keiner was, aber die Vermieter waren unheimlich nett und zuvorkommend, die Lage des Dorfes ist umwerfend und dass man über einer Bäckerei und an einer Hauptstraße wohnt, merkt man gar nicht. La Giettaz ist ein schnuckeliges Bergdörfchen, die Alpen sind hier schroff und ursprünglich. Die umliegenden Skigebiete sind für Familien geeignet. Für uns alles top, kommen gerne wieder.

Great location but ...

This property would not, in my opinion, accommodate 6 people, at least not in comfort. There were only two of us staying and we had to keep one of our two suitcases in the lounge. The toilet was so small my husband, who is of average size, couldn't get in, turn round and lock the door! The shower tray filled up in about four minutes meaning that water escaped onto the floor. We bought a cheap towel to soak up the water and had very short showers. We explained this to the owner who indicated he was going to fix it so it may no longer be a problem. The other issue, and it may be my own fault, is that I did not know we were supposed to bring our own bedding. Even if we had known, English pillowcases would not have fitted the pillows provided. We made do the first night and then had to go out and buy bedding. However, we had a great holiday in this apartment. The owner and his family were friendly. We loved La Giettaz and recommend future visitors go to the Tourist Information who are, as always in France, helpful and can recommend good things to do in the area. We would also recommend eating/drinking at La Refuge just a few doors down the road.

Unkomplizierte Organisation, süße kleine Wohnung

Wir haben den Aufenthalt bei Fam. Parrot sehr genossen, v.a. die unkomplizierte Art und Weise, wie alles trotz eigenem Urlaub geregelt wurde. Die Wohnung unten ist klein, die Einriichtung eher einfach, aber es ist alles vorhanden und wir haben uns zu viert wohlgefühlt. Die Gastgeber waren selbst zwar nicht da, aber wir hatten die Schwiegermutter (nur Französisch) als sehr nette Ansprechpartnerin für alle Fragen. Die Lage ist schlicht traumhaft, dabei ist man in La Giettaz im Gegensatz zum Eventort La Clusaz abseits vom Rummel, stattdessen wird man morgens vom Hahn geweckt. Die Bäckerei direkt unter der Wohnung ist ein absoluter Pluspunkt, das täglich frische Croissant und Baguette in Windeseile auf dem Frühstückstisch. Höhepunkte des Urlaubs waren die Wanderung auf den Tete du Torraz, der Lac d'Annecy, der äußerst schnuckelige Badeteich in Flumet.
