Newly Remodeled Cabin in Hermosa Close to All - 1 Bed/1 Bath - Sleeps 4

Our cozy cabin sits perfectly hidden away in the Hermosa Valley. Halfway between downtown Durango and Purgatory Ski Resort, our home is in a prime location for all your family wishes to do and experience while in Durango.
Our cabin sleeps 4 with a king bedroom and sleeper sofa in the living room and 1 bathroom. We have books, games, smart tv and a Pac-man arcade game to keep you entertained while in our home. Our kitchen is fully stocked with all the comforts of home. Come and enjoy our cabin!

Our newly remodeled home is the perfect place for your next vacation. The rustic feel of the furniture and extra woodwork touches throughout will really get you in the mood to get out and explore all that our area has to offer. You'll love checking out all of the antiques we have decorating our walls, including on the facade of our home.

We are approx 12 minutes from downtown Durango and 15 minutes to Purgatory ski resort. There is plenty of great hiking trails within minutes of our home. PJ's grocery store is 5 miles down the road as is the newly remodeled Durango Hot Spring.

We cannot wait to have you stay with us.

Staying in this home ensures a parking space for one passenger vehicle. If you need space for a 2nd vehicle, you just need to contact me in advance and I will make arrangements for you to be able to park that 2nd vehicle.

Anything other than a passenger vehicle (ie - trailer, camper, etc) must also be advised in advance. It can most likely be accommodated but in order to ensure a space, you must let me know in advance.

***If you need a bigger home, please send me a message on here and I can direct you to the other properties we own that might work better for your family.

***Please contact me in advance of booking with pets. There will be an additional $25 pet fee required per dog. I'm sorry but there are no cats allowed. Dogs must be kenneled if kept inside the home alone.

***DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER IN OUR TOILETS. We have a sensitive septic system. Do not flush any wipes (baby wipes, flushable wipes etc) nor any feminine products in our toilets. Doing so will wreak havoc on our septic system and cause you to incur a $500 fine.

***All towles are to remain on site. They are not to be brought to the hot springs or on a hike or used to clean with. If the towels are stained, there will be an additional $25 charge for bath towels, $10 for hand towels, $5 for wash cloths.

***ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES ALLOWED. Your reservation will be cancelled and you will be forced to leave immediately if this rule is not abided by.

***No smoking of any kind is allowed inside the home. Doing so will cause you to incur a $100 fine.

Our Stay

Our stay was amazing and the house was beautiful, cozy and the scenery around us was breathtaking. You can see the train that runs above on the other side of the street and the Pinkerton hot springs is about a mile walk up the road which looked like a crayon exploded. Vita also was super helpful and so hospitable. I really appreciate her help.

46th anniversary

What a wonderful quaint place to stay. Close enough to Durango but far away from the hustle and bustle. We used the kitchen almost every night. We are new to the Vrbo experience so we had brought our own coffee, spices and stuff for cooking. Kitchen had cleaning supplies. King bed was very comfortable. Hostess kept in touch with us about work being done in the area so we knew what to expect as they were getting ready for heavy snow. We enjoyed our trip into Silverton and going to the Mesa Veda. Would stay here again! And very dog friendly.

Great lower budget place to stay.

Was good and as advertised. It fit our needs. The kitchen has no condiments and very little other basic ingredients like spices or oil. Also had very little cooking pots, pans, etc in general. So if you plan on cooking, come prepared. It isn’t on the listing, but there is also a propane grill outside. Place was great and other rentals were quiet and respectful. Very easy to get ahold of property manager.

Comfortable and cute cabin

Perfect little cabin. Fireplace with remote (gas fire?) kept the cabin toasty warm. Good selection of kitchen ware made cooking easy. However, oven mitts would be a nice extra. (But hand towels did the trick). The Christmas tree was a perfect touch for the week of Christmas. Our host was especially accommodating when we needed this place last minute. Thank you so much for your tremendous help!

Perfect little spot

We enjoyed a week at “the cabin”. We loved the deck and nice chairs for entertaining. Great place for our friends to gather and hang out to catch up. Loved the ease of going to Durango, perfect location. Lots of fans provided to stay cool. Most importantly, very clean. The bed situation. King size bed, very comfortable. Nice quality sheets and light down comforter. Pillows were also nice. Extra sheet set and extra cotton blanket in the closet ;) The kitchen is stocked very nicely with everything we needed. A medium size pan/pot WITH LID would be a great thing to add. Great paved drive/parking…looks nice and new. Such a neat little rustic cabin village. Loved the vibe and decor of the signage outside of each of the cabins. Huge bonus points for the pet friendliness of the property. We greatly appreciated being at ease with our little dog. Loved the kennels provided outside and the posts for the leashes on the deck. Quick response time when I reached out to the owner with questions, she was very kind. My only complaint was it was a bit small for what we’re used to. But for the price, can’t beat it. We will definitely go back again.

Great & Cozy Cabin

We absolutely loved our stay at Vita's cabin! The cabin was clean, the pacman game was so fun, and the location was perfectly placed between Durango and the National Forest! Vita and the property managers were also so thoughtful to leave us a little note and treat to congratulate us on our wedding! It was also fantastic that our dogs were able to join us in staying there! I do think it's important to mention the dog run is not so much of a run, as it is an outdoor kennel (maybe 8'x8'?). This house also backs to the highway, which made me a little nervous with my younger dog who is a little more flighty than my old boy. But those two details were minor in comparison to everything we loved about staying in this cute cabin! Would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay again! My family wished they had listened to me and stayed in one of the other cabins nearby! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Relaxing vacation

The cabin was perfect for my husband and I and our dog. Location was great, pretty much close to everything within 30 min or less. Weather made it all the more enjoyable. Manager always answered our questions and while we were there she came to see if we were going to be out because they had some work to do around the property but did not want to disturb us. A+++ service. The only thing that we were disappointed with was the way they described the cabin and the pictures they posted made it seem like the cabin was by itself in the woods. Otherwise everything was fantastic and we will recommend it to anyone and we may visit again.

Lovely place, great price!

Lovely spot, stellar view of Missionary Ridge. Wish it had been warmer so that we could have enjoyed the expansive deck and views! If more than two people stay, buy paper plates. House dinner ware is limited. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location for what I needed. Half way between town and Purg. Vita was very easy to communicate with and cabin was exactly as advertised. Super cute.

Great, cozy cabin!

This adorable cabin has everything you need for a cozy, comfortable stay near Durango. Best for a couple but pull out couch makes it good for families, too. Very dog friendly with a little dog run outside! Would be great for Fall leaf peepers (near the famous Durango to Silverton train) or Purgatory skiers. Host is very reachable if you need anything. Hope to come back someday.
