“Les Dômes” is a large family home located on the Coulmes Plateau, in the Vercors Natural Park. A unique haven of peace and greenery, nestled in a valley hollow just before the entrance to a large forest. The house is situated along a small 3-kilometer road that winds through the forest and meadows for 3 kilometers from the village of Presles. On the garden side, it faces a large meadow that slopes up toward the forest and the “serres,” small hills. It is also 400 meters from the famous Presles cliffs, well-known among rock climbers. These cliffs overlook the marvelous Choranche Cave, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Bourne Valley, which leads to Pont-en-Royans, “the gateway to the Vercors.” The story of Les Dômes is that of a man who, as a lover of the mountains, was walking through the region and stumbled upon the listing by chance while passing through Pont-en-Royans. He fell in love with this house and its setting—nestled between forest, countryside, and mountains—and gradually restored this former farmhouse into a bed-and-breakfast to welcome his 5 children and 14 grandchildren. For the past 15 years, the house has been the site of joyful and regular reunions for this large family!
The house consists of two interconnected sections: an 8-bedroom house with a first floor (kitchen-dining room, living room, access to a wooden deck), two upper floors, and a basement laundry room; and “the guesthouse,” a large living area with a second kitchen-bar, which opens onto the large terrace facing the garden and the rising sun, as well as the gravel terrace facing the setting sun.
