This inviting vacation home "The Bird House" includes:

* Two floors for separated privacy.

* Main level has open floor plan, custom kitchen, dining area, two bedrooms (one with king sized bed and the other with one queen bed and one twin bed); and lovely shared bath.

* Lower level includes queen-sized memory foam sleeper sofa, a twin bed, and HDTV. Mini-Kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, and dining area with bar-be-que grill just outside.

* Completely updated 2015 with all new appliances (including dishwasher and washer/dryer) and interior and seating and sleeping furnishings.

* Year-Round serious central heat and air throughout.

* HDTV (Dish Satellite) and WiFi internet access.

Best Christmas ever!

We had our second stay at the birdhouse and we were just as in love with it as the first time. We stayed for 10 days over the holidays and had a magical time enjoying the property as well as the wealth of things to do in the area. Franklin is the quintessential small mountain town and it never disappoints. We cannot wait to visit again. My ONLY gripe is the WIFi is insanely slow, so be prepared to truly unplug. This is just the way it is in the mountains, so I do not fault the Birdhouse at all

An amazing time, we already booked it again!

This is everything we had imagined it would be. Nestled in the trees, on a gravel road.... The house is just perfect. Everything we needed was well stocked and well placed. Having use of the garage door was great because I didn't have to worry about losing the key and it made entry and exit and lock up so much better especially going in and out with the kids. My 6-year-old daughter had an absolute blast on the second floor porch swing. We didn't see many birds because of the season, but we definitely saw enough places for them to perch, with cute little bird houses strewn all over the property. We are coming back in December and can't wait to spend a longer time enjoying this amazing property.

Perfect in every way

We enjoyed the bird house and everything was perfect! We especially loved the outside environment, exploring the forest and nature trail.

Good communcations from the host to include a notebook of recommendations. May have been an oversight on my part but didn't know main level has one bath for the two main bedrooms and the second bath is in the lower level with an open room. Also did not care for the extra 5th person charge when the property easily sleeps more, one bed was unused.

The Birdhouse is amazing!

The Birdhouse was a lovely place to stay at! It was very clean and comfortable with everything what we needed - convenient location. We appreciated the goodies left for us. We enjoyed the front porch with our morning coffee. We would definitely stay again!

A very nice home away from home!

We were very pleased with The Bird House. It was clean, spacious, and everything you need in the kitchen. Had an enjoyable time watching the birds come and eat on the upper deck. The Host was helpful with questions we had and answered quickly. Great Host!

Thanksgiving Stay

We stayed here for Thanksgiving, and it was perfect for us. The cabin was impeccably clean, there were goodies left for us, ie... milk, juice, muffins, bread, it was welcomed and appreciated. The cabin was easy to find, and fit our family perfectly. The owners were always very easy to contact, and got back with us very quickly. I would recommend this property to anyone, and would stay again.

Perfect Home Base

This vacation home was pristine inside! The owner had also left a lovely supply of food and beverages. Such a nice touch. While we prefer to be in the mountains with no other properties in sight, this was a great launching spot for our hikes and visits to nearby towns. Two thumbs up.

Great Location

The property was just as advertised. It had a great walk up the mountain, big porch with nice views and lots of windows, making the inside feel like a treehouse. The location was convenient to Franklin for grocery shopping and dining. The owners were super nice and helpful.

Relaxing get-away

We had a great time at the Birdhouse. We especially enjoyed the porch in the evening and wandering around on the mountain. Bruce checked in to make sure everything was ok, answered all our questions, and made sure there was charcoal for the grill. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Birdhouse is "birds"

The Birdhouse is in a very quiet, shady, and birds neighborhood--near the end of a lovely road at the base of a mountain preserve outside of Franklin, NC. It is very nicely furnished, and had the bulk of the food we ate "at home"--during our 5 night stay. We saw or heard over 17 bird species from the front, 2nd floor balcony--or a half mile country walk down the gravel road. The owners were very considerate--with the food in the frigerator, and the coffee on the counter. And when the trees needed to be trimmed for a service vehicle, they asked the local firm to do it without a chain saw, so we would not be disturbed.! This was a very peaceful, lovely house in nature--and the name accurately describes it. We hope to return in the future,--and feel very fortunate to have found it. Thank you so much!

Another fabulous stay

We stayed previously at the Bird House and really enjoyed it. So much that we came back this year. The house is very spacious and clean. Wifi and satellite TV are nice to have, and the welcome basket of goodies was very thoughtful. It's a beautiful property with lots of space to explore. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, owners have thought of everything!

First time staying in Franklin area. We booked here to be convenient to rafting and hiking locations we wanted to hit. Owners, Bruce and Lois, are very friendly and super responsive to anything you need. House was comfortable and roomy, loved hearing the sounds of the forest and stream nearby. Most surprising was to be greeted with a fully stocked fridge on our arrival! Tennis and pickle ball court (with private sauna!) was enjoyed by our sons and their friend. Fire pit area with views at the top of their property is worth the hike or kubota ride up the mountain. Definitely will book again when we're back in this area!

Cozy cottage in a wonderful location.

Cozy, beautiful cottage with all the amenities of home. The hosts are really wonderful people. They went to great lengths to make our stay comfortable. My mother forgot her glasses there and they were very kind to write to us about it and send it immediately. The home is a nice newly renovated home with all the modern amenities. The lush green surroundings, views of the mountains, sounds of birds chirping and the sound of water flowing in a small creek nearby make it an unforgettable stay. Franklin is a wonderful town in very close proximity to numerous hiking trails, outdoor activities, the Smoky mountains, Nantahala forest and much more ...this cottage is in a very convenient location to take off in many directions for anything you want to do. We were there for about 3 days. Our only regret was we didn't plan to stay longer!
