The appartment was really clean and so comfortable and spacious. Directions very clear and Jana was super helpful. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the old town and the views from the terrace to Mont Canigou are unbelievable especially at sunrise and sunset. A perfect retreat!

Geräumige, sehr gepflegte Wohnung in großartiger Lage

Wir haben zwei Wochen Anfang September in Janas Appartement verbracht und uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Groß, sauber, mit allen Annehmlichkeiten (vor allem auch klimatisiert, wichtig, da unterm Dach). Geht gut zu viert ggf. auch zu sechst. Zwei Zimmer mit eigenem Bad und noch ein separates Gäste-WC, riesiger Kühlschrank, moderne Küche. Unsere Gastgeberin war sehr nett, hat sich immer schnell um auftauchende Fragen gekümmert. Man ist in 50 m (!) am Waldrand und kann zu Wanderungen in die Albères aufbrechen, genauso ist man aber auch in 10 m im nächsten Restaurant. Und von denen gibt es in Laroque so einige, die man empfehlen kann. Bäcker und Epicerie zu Fuß 5 min. entfernt, ebenso der kleine Markt am Mittwoch vormittag. Strand (Le Racou) mit dem Auto in 15 min, in 20 ist man in Collioure, in 30 in Perpignan, die Lage ist wirklich einzigartig gut und Laroque des Albères ist bislang das süßeste Dorf, das wir am Fuße der Albères gefunden haben. Minuspunkte waren die etwas durchgelegenen Betten, das schlechte WLAN und die Tatsache, dass man für den PKW immer neu einen Platz suchen muss, teils auch 5-10 Min. entfernt. Ein- und Ausladen unmittelbar vor dem Eingang aber kein Problem! Der großzügige Pool nach hinten heraus (zwei Treppen nach unten) mit schönem Ausbllick und viel Grün drumherum war praktisch für uns allein, obgleich noch eine weitere Ferienwohnung und die Hauseigentümer da sein können (aber nicht waren). Wir würden wiederkommen.

Great flat in lovely village

We had a lovet time this summer. The apartment is big and spacious and it was no problem living 2 adults and 3 teenagers in it. Pool was easy accessed and we had it all to ourselves while we were there. The apartment is placed in the centre of the Old village, which has plenty of good restaurants although not many shops.

Rymlig och karaktärsfull lägenhet

Reste med vänner till underbart mysiga Larouq des Albêres. Le Loft ligger vackert beläget med utsikt över bergen och nära till flera bra restauranger. Stor och rymlig lägenhet som har flera sovmöjligheter, fräscha badrum och köket har allt man behöver för att laga egen mat. Poolområdet var en härlig oas att svalka sig och koppla av vid. Värdinnan Jana har ett fantastiskt bemötande och visade oss allt vi behövde veta samt fanns tillgänglig varje dag vid frågor. Vi återvänder gärna till Le loft.

Vacances au top !

Nous avons passé une semaine de vacances avec nos deux enfants dans l'appartement " le loft ", superbe logement tout équipé. La propriétaire Jana est d'une très grande gentillesse. Tout est conforme aux photos, aucune mauvaise surprise !!! Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. La situation du logement dans le village est au top !

Idealer Ausgangspunkt zum Wandern oder Radeln

Wir haben eine Woche herrlichen Sommerurlaub in der großzügigen Dachgeschosswohnung mit der Dachterrasse mir dem grandiosen Ausblick genossen. Von hier kann man direkt zu Fuß in wunderschöne Wanderwege in die Nordhängen der Pyrenäen starten oder mit dem Fahrrad die nähere Umgebung erkunden. Es gibt relativ gut ausgebaute Fahrradwege, auf denen man auch bis an‘s Mittelmeer (Arles oder Collieure) fahren kann. Im bezaubernden Ort Laroque gibt es viele kleine und gute Restaurants, so dass wir jeden Abend in einem anderen Lokal köstlich speisen konnten, ohne das Auto nutzen zu müssen. An das stündliche Läuten der angrenzenden Kirche haben wir uns schnell gewöhnt, so dass es uns im Nachhinen fast ein wenig fehlt. Wir werden dieses Quartier unseren Freunden wärmstens weiterempfehlen und können uns gut vorstellen, nochmal wiederzukommen.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Jana. Le gîte est spacieux et confortable. Nous avons profité de la belle piscine et de la terrasse face aux montagnes. C’était top. Le village est bien achalandé en commerces, et c’est un point de départ de randonnées. Ravie de notre séjour. Merci Jana

excellent séjour

L'appartement loué, le loft (avec terrasse) était très propre, avec beaucoup de charme, un grand espace, un décoration soignée, beaucoup de confort. L'espace extérieur, avec la piscine et une très belle vue sur les Albères est également plein de charme, super agréable, calme. Par ailleurs, le logement se situe à proprement parler au départ de nombreux sentiers de randonnée dans les Albères. Seul bémol, surtout pour mes ados qui aiment dormir le matin, la proximité de la cloche de l'église, qui sonne toutes les demi heures. La propriétaire est par ailleurs trés disponible et agréable.

Fantastic!

We highly recommend this hidden gem in Laroque. Jana our host was a joy and the apartment was lovely with gorgeous views. The village is small but quaint, parking was a bit of a challenge at some moments but the apartment and views were worth the walk through town! It was very clean, quiet, pool and gardens were beautiful. Apartment was also very spacious and decorated nicely. Great jumping off point for exploring the region. We’ll certainly be back!

Family of two adults and two teenagers

We had a fabulous time at this property. The apartment is even better than the photos suggest. We are a family of two adults and two teenagers and we had tones of space. The views from the terrace were breathtaking and we sat here every day. We also had the pool almost entirely to ourselves for the two weeks. We went hiking into the mountains as suggested by Jana. She was a fabulous host. We also went to a lake close by and Céret again as suggested by Jana. As we were based in the middle of the village we were very close to all the restaurants, shops and weekly market. You do get used to the church bells, so much so, that I never had to look at my watch. I am really looking forward to holidaying here again. Can’t wait

Amazing loft apartment......

Superb apartment, excellent value. We where a party of two adults and two teenagers plenty of room extremely well equipped, just beautiful. Just remember this is a loft apartment so there are a few stairs but well worth the climb. Great location for cycling, beaches, history, walking and restuarnts. We had a car which I think you need unless you are staying put in town for hiking would strongly recommend car use , parking is however in the town but only a short 2 min walk back through the lovely tiny streets. Jana and William where exceptional hosts even accommodating our 4 mountain bikes!! Pool was not busy and great fun lovely setting. Bell tower next door Chimes every hour but we got used to it very quickly so didn't really notice it. Definitely will return to this property as its was just fabulous beautiful apartment. Local restaurants where superb especially 'Le Catalan' on your doorstep. Totally recommended Laroque des Alberes makes a great holiday from mountains to beaches, history of collioure and St Paulilles to modern Alberes sur Mer so suits all. We only stayed for a week and didn't get around to visot the Sea National Park or Forests that well.

A marvelous apartment in a quaint village

We spent two weeks in this very comfortable apartment surrounded by Pyrenees and far only a few km from wonderful beaches. The apartment is very big and full of commodities. From the terrace you can see a very beautiful view while in the garden you can find a swimming pool with warm water. Jana and Willam are very kind and friendly, open to suggest the best trips all around the area. If you are looking for a relaxing place between sea and mountain you can find here your best holiday.

Lovely apartment and great location

This apartment was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed with all the furnishings done to a high spec. The owner William has obviously put his heart and soul into doing this building up and you can tell. We had to put some of the lovely ornaments and artefacts away as we have two small children. You can understand why they ask for a security deposit! The pool was also lovely and quite often we had it to ourselves for the day. It was lovely and warm compared to other places we had stayed in the same holiday. The town is also lovely and hasn't lost it's charm to tourism and is a quaint little village but at the same time often had things going on just round the corner and there were often live bands playing in the square or markets on. Also plenty of walks from the village. It is ideally located as it is only a 20 minute drive to the beach but you also have the option of the Pyrenees. William and Jana were so welcoming but not intrusive but you knew they were on site if you needed them. Lovely people. The only bad thing I have to say which isn't any reflection on the owners is that the church is next door and the church bells go off every hour all through the night and are quite loud in the apartment. I am a light sleeper so the first couple of nights I struggled with this so if you are a light sleeper you might want to buy some ear plugs as I had to do! I was fine with ear plugs in. My husband and both my children weren't affected by this at all though so I think it must just be me! It wouldn't put me off returning to this lovely apartment in a lovely area.

Séjour de grande qualité

Il faut tout d'abord noté la qualité de l'accueil, chaleureux et sympathique. Au delà c'est le confort et la propreté de cet appartement, la qualité de l'électroménager, de la literie, la décoration très soignée qui fait de ce gîte un lieu de villégiature de premier ordre. Nous ne pouvons oublier de parler de la beauté de la demeure et du site exceptionnel qu'est Laroque, en proximité de la mer, de la montagne et de l'Espagne. Pour terminer la gentillesse et la disponibilité de nos hôtes ont rendu ce séjour très agréable.

Delightful, spacious apartment

We stayed at this super apartment for a week in August. At the time of booking we were a little anxious as we really wanted an apartment near the beach - but we needn't have worried. This is an extremely spacious, beautifully renovated apartment on the top floor of a large house in Laroque, with beautiful views of the mountains. Jana, the owner, and her family were most welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home. Laroque is a delightful village with a handful of small shops, cafes,restaurants and bars. Once we'd been down to the coast we were so glad to be staying in this lovely apartment in a relatively (but not too!) quiet village.
