Serene Rustic Farmhouse Mountain Cottage

Come get a taste of Appalachian mountain living. Nestle 3 miles outside of Boone, NC with convenient access to the ski resorts and hiking trails of Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock, NC. This newly build, 1200 sq ft, the cottage features 2 full bedrooms (queen and king) and 2 full bathrooms. A covered front deck looks over a spectacular view of rolling plains and Tennessee mountains. One of the bathrooms features a walk-in stone tile surround by a rainforest head. The other bathroom features a double vessel sink vanity with a luxurious soaking tub. You have access to a full kitchen and a garage gym that leads out to a safe and uphill road for a strenuous walk or run to add to your fitness routine. The cottage is decorated with high-end luxury furnishings and bed and bath linen are all anti-microbial. Come enjoy the mountains and all the local fare while relaxing in a quiet, clean and serene cottage -- FOR ADULTS ONLY.

Peaceful getaway

We had an extremely peaceful getaway for five nights. Spending time on the deck in the morning and watching the sunset in the evening was rejuvenating. The neighborhood is quiet and the bed exceptionally comfortable making for great sleeping conditions. Karen is an ideal host. This is a second stay at this property and we hope to stay here again when we visit our son who lives in Boone.

Weekend trip

There is no rating high enough to relate to this property. Definitely one of the best rental experiences ever. The property is immaculate. The attention to detail is superb. Great communication with owner. A must stay for anyone wanting a quiet place that is close to everything. Higher end accommodations, felt like home and then some. You will not be disappointed by staying here.

Beautiful and quiet accoommodation

Wow, this property is beautiful, clean and luxurious. I have stayed in many VRBO properties but none have compared to the interior design and how well equipped the kitchen is. The owner was responsive and worked with us through a family emergency that changed our travel plans. Sitting on the deck n the morning was so peaceful. We can't wait to come back.

Beautifully designed and accommodating, From the moment we walk through the door we were greeted with notes that were personalized to each of us. It was exactly what we were expecting and then some. Would recommend this home to anybody Karen was great!!

Wow rental

This property is accurately represented in the pictures and description of the listing. Karen had added extra touches to make guests feel welcomed such as a Christmas tree with lights, some chocalates and water. Very thoughtful and appreciated. Enjoyed the comforts and relaxation. Well equipped kitchen and sitting by the fireplace reading and chatting with friends. Close enough to the ski slopes if you venture out for fun. Would certainly recommend to anyone wanting to relax and discover the area.

Dream cottage!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Ocho-Vilas Mountain Cottage! The cottage was impeccably decorated and well stocked with every item that you could want in a vacation home. The attention to detail throughout the home was amazing and drawers were all labeled and little notes were placed around the cottage to help renters find anything they might need. We felt comfortable and settled in very quickly. The cottage was extremely clean and the king bed in the master was super comfortable! Also, the location was convenient to Boone, Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock and the view from the covered porch at the cottage was beautiful. After a long day of hiking, snuggling on the couch in front of the fireplace and watching tv was a great way to end the day. We already booked another stay in December 2021 and can't wait to go back!

We loved the place!

We were surprised to see that it was actually nicer than in the photos! The cows across the road were so fun to watch from the porch! Very clean, nicely decorated, comfy bed and pillows! They let us have a late check out too! Book it!

Easter Escape

We were looking for a cozy getaway that would provide some peace and tranquility in the evening and through the night but that would simultaneously give us easy access to recreational activities in both the North Carolina and Tennessee Mountains. This cottage was spot on and actually better than we anticipated. It was very well decorated and fully equipped with everything we needed to feel like we were at home but in a luxury hotel-like environment. There were concierge services available, a fully stocked "cash app" bar, essential oils and bubble bath that created an incredibly relaxing bath, and a mattress that helped me sleep like a happy baby every night. Kara, you created an exceptional experience and we will be back.

Very nice, relaxing atmosphere

The property was absolutely beautiful! Karen was very helpful and seemed to be available for questions every time I asked/needed something. She left a nice snack basket, and pretty much any toiletries you may have forgotten, we're available. If there was anything I was disappointed about, would be the view. In my opinion, the description made it sound better than it was.

This cottage feels very remote but is 3 miles from downtown Boone, Appalachian State University, and all of the local shops and eateries. It is less than 10 miles from the neighboring mountain cities of Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. The best thing is you don't need a 4-wheel drive or special equipment to access this cottage.
