Or enjoy the sound of the river from multiple patios, deck, and inside the house. Within 30 minutes of EVERYTHING: 18 STUNNING riverside miles from Stanley, 24 miles to Redfish Lake Lodge, 7 miles to the Sunbeam Cafe, 8 miles to Sunbeam Hotsprings, and close to hiking and biking trails throughout the area. Play on the Salmon, in the Sawtooths, White Clouds and Frank Church, and then come home to a world-class estate nestled next to the river. (NOTE: THE DRIVING TIIMES SUPPLIED BY THE VRBO MAP ALGORITHM ARE ALMOST DOUBLED AS COMPARED TO ACTUAL!!!)

The house has off-white berber carpets throughout. We take our shoes off at the mudroom and request that our guests do too.
There are no reductions in reserved nights allowed after the reservation cancellation period has passed. Feel free to ask about additional nights.
No interior fires in the fireplaces. Exterior fires in the two outside fire rings allowed if fire conditions allow. We do not provide firewood.

What a beautiful home right on the river.. you cannot get a better spot than this!!We fished right out front everyday and sat on the deck in the afternoon so peaceful! The log home is absolutely stunning and very family friendly! We enjoyed it so much, no need to go to town! But if you want to only a 20 min beautiful drive! We will be back!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful log home!

fishing and Hiking

Nice drive through canyon to Stanley area where we did our hiking...fished in the river around the place was decent fishing but we were a little early with water still pretty fast and high. Had a great time cant wait to return!

Absolutely wonderful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is SO stunning, and sits right on the Salmon River! Michael and Thuy are great hosts, who were very responsive to all my questions. We will definitely stay here again!

Prompt communication!

Wonderful stay at a great property! Very quick communication with the owner. Spacious home with a kitchen equipped with everything you’d need. Beds were super comfy. Wifi was strong. My only suggestion would be to put a pull out couch in the open space in the basement; that could accommodate young children or extra guests. I would definitely stay there again!

Great vacation at River Magic

I have been talking with a friend for years about making the trip to Idaho, given my family's enjoyment of the outdoors. This house was perfect with large bedrooms and an incredible great room - away from town just like we wanted. It is in a beautiful location on the river with the added bonus of the sound of the water running over the rocks. The weather was perfect so we kept the windows open a lot to be able to hear the river. One other unexpected bonus was the ice maker in the kitchen, so we had ice for our daily adventures.

Simply incredible

Wow. What an incredible find. I would say that we took a chance on this new listing, but the photos convinced us, and we had an unforgettable Valentines weekend. This place somehow combines the warmth and charm of a "log cabin" with the grandeur of a multi-million$ mansion. Huge private views of snow and icy waters, while warm and cozy by the fire. The hosts were great and clued us in to several hot springs along the river that we incredible in the snow. Everything was simple perfect. A bit big for just the two of us, we'll be back with friends this summer to take more advantage of space, the river, and nearby Sawtooth mountain hikes, which have long been some of my favorite anywhere in the US. What a great gathering spot.

We had a wonderful 6 days and nights in the Sawtooths, and this log home served as an ideal base for our hiking adventures. The property was exactly as described and beautiful. Michael went above and beyond with very detailed tips on hiking trails, travel times to trailheads, and restaurants. His knowledge and passion for the Sawtooths made this trip a great success.

Riger magic? Oh boy, does this place have it!

Once here we quickly realized that it's much more than just another catchy listing title - the river's influence was ever-present throughout our stay, and in short: the setting is awe-inspiring. This property is a peaceful delight - plenty of wondrous space and spaces to gather together, relax, and enjoy. The home itself is spectacular, with everything well-maintained and very clean. The location is "away from it all" while still ideal for quick jaunts into nearby towns and a great jumping-off point for daily adventures. The river serves as a steady companion and willing guide throughout your stay. We were sorry to go when the time came to say farewell - and already thinking about when we might return.

Amazing location, expansive, comfortable home, right on the river!

What a wonderful place! I want to return here as often as I can -- The Salmon River runs about 100 feet from this palatial "log cabin!" The views are stunning. I plan to return in summer to enjoy the river for fishing, kayaking and swimming. The house is easy to find, very large and comfortable, with everything you need to relax and enjoy the home. The drive to the nearest town, Stanley, is absolutely gorgeous. Hot springs are nearby! I am so glad I found this place. One of my best vacations ever!

We’ve been playing in the Sawtooths for 37 years and dreaming of getting a place on the Salmon River, far enough from Stanley to be near our beloved hotsprings, but close enough to pop in for dinner or go for a hike in the Sawtooths, or boat on one of the lakes. When we saw River Magic, and the quality and care with which the seller and the architect designed and built it, we knew we had found a jewel on the Salmon River. We love being there—sitting on the back deck watching and listening to the river, fishing on the river, playing frisbee or just chilling in the pasture next to the river, putting in below Sunbeam Dam and taking out at our place, or kayaking from River Magic to the Squaw Creek take-out,…relaxing in the elegant log lodge great room with a soaring over 30 foot ceiling—and know that you will too!—Michael and Thuy
