In 2007 we purchased a 700 square foot seasonal cabin on Shetek and fell in love with this lake. And after outgrowing the space, we made the leap into this home and we love the southwest exposure with giant cottonwoods that shade the property in the summertime. This is a great lake, although not deep, it has so much character with little side lakes and channels that allow you to find a spot out of the wind and protected. There are pull up beaches and sandbars in three spots on the lake and two restaurants.
In the winter, there are ice-fishing cities all over the lake and we've done pretty good ice-fishing right in front of our house. Not to mention the people in this area are so friendly.

The house is just 20 or so steps from the water and has great fishing from shore in the right times of the year. The bottom is hard, even if a little stony but that's why the fishing is good since there are no weeds! Really, the whole lake is pretty much weed free except some really shallow soft spots in the bays.

The house is well built and we occupy the upstairs while using the lower level as a short term rental to help cover the costs of the updates we made when we purchased the house. We really can't hear much except the occasional loud noise between the two floors - it's very much like staying in a quiet hotel.

We love this rural area with friendly people. You wont find big city traffic in this neighborhood.
