Tettegouche Lodge is a secluded 32-acre property near Finland, MN with a spacious 8-bedroom, 7-bathroom vacation rental house nestled into the hills three miles inland from Lake Superior. A spectacular stretch of the Baptism River runs through the property directly below the Lodge with ideal, private fly fishing locations and a swimming hole. Tettegouche (pronounced Tet-a-gooch) means "gathering place" in French and with a capacity of up to 18 guests, the Lodge is perfect for multi-generational or multi-family North Shore vacations, yoga or corporate retreats, intimate Northwoods weddings, writing, art or photography workshops, and book club or scrapbooking getaways.

Generally mid-June through mid-August require a six-night minimum rental, lates August and holidays are 4 nights, and reservations the rest of the year only require a three-night minimum stay.

We had a wonderful weekend here. It is a beautiful property and great house that accommodates many and never feels crowded. We were very impressed with how well stocked and labeled the kitchen was. Great place for big gatherings. The property and views were beyond awesome.

We booked this property for our daughter’s wedding party to stay at. Lots of rooms, great gathering places and outdoor beauty. It was the perfect set up for everyone to relax and enjoy and get ready. The lawn was where the first look took place. We could not have been more pleased with the ease and beauty of this property. Clean and well equipped. Even one couple’s young children were able to stay and sleep; the home is large so they could sleep while adults stayed up late. The whole party said they want to come back.

Group of 15 had a great time

Tettegouche Lodge is a wonderful house, perfect for our three generations to gather for a week. Plenty of room - large well-equipped kitchen, plenty of dining space, two living rooms, lovely bedrooms, a screened in porch, an outdoor deck, and balconies outside of the upper bedrooms, overlooking the Baptism River. The owners were very responsive to the few needs we had. This was year 45 of our summer family vacations and Tettegouche rates among the top places.

Unbelievably Perfect

This was the perfect lodge, property and location for our multi-generational family (ages 14 - 73) vacation. The place was both spacious and cozy, the view to the river was spectacular and the hosts were super responsive. There is plenty to do in the cabin and on the property, but also wonderfully located close to so many wonderful state parks.

Wonderful Lodge!

The lodge was absolutely stunning, set in a picturesque location that provided breathtaking views all around. The spacious accommodations were perfect for large groups, offering plenty of room for everyone to relax comfortably. Absolutely Beautiful

Our 17 family members ranging in age from 10 months to 68 years old spent a memorable week At Tettegouche Lodge. Accommodations and host communication were outstanding. The views of the Baptism River are amazing but as advertised it is a little challenging to reach the river. Many outstanding day trip opportunities. Highly recommend!

Stunning North Shore retreat

Tettegouche Lodge is absolutely gorgeous, the photos don’t do it justice! This was the perfect place for our family gathering, the lodge has great communal spaces as well as privacy, with large bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms.

Family get together

The lodge is beautiful and very spacious. The kitchen has 2 refrigerators, a large dining table that fit our entire family. Lots of seating in the family room and sitting area. A great table for game playing, games, and Foosball/ping pong. The upstairs suites were amazing! The location is a great central location to many parks and activities for all ages. But the best part was the view! The Baptism river and trees are fantastic and very relaxing. Lots of area to sit outside or in the screen porch. Lots of stairs, just be aware if you have anyone with difficulties with stairs. Highly recommend the lodge!

Intimate wedding stay

We rented the lodge to celebrate our union ceremony and were absolutely blown away by the lodge. The pictures really do not do this gem service, it’s all the better in person. Family was breath taken by the river view and the splendor of the lodge. With 16 people it felt absolutely comfortable and not in any way crowded. The stay blew our expectations away! It was the north shore location of my dreams.

Beautiful property

Great log cabin!

This was a great place for us all to stay. We were supposed to be snowmobiling, but without snow we went hiking and touring the lovely state parks in the area. The lodge was spacious and had plenty of room for gathering as well as separate spaces if we wanted a little privacy! The kitchen was lovely and had all the things we needed. The area is very beautiful! Highly recommend Tettegouche Lodge for a larger group gathering!

Excellent accomodations

Clean, spacious and well stocked. We had 18 adults (family and friends) an infant and a 3 year old who all had a wonderful time. There were toys for the kids, a pack and play as well as other convenience. Each of the 9 couple had their own private room. We had 10 snowmobiles. The trails are close. There was room for 2 large trailers and 6 vehicles. Getting in and out with the large 29' X 8.5' wide trailer was a challenge due to a fairly narrow driveway and a 9' wide bridge. We took it slow and all went well. Our hosts were very responsive, kind and gracious. Would definitely do it again.

Great Stay

We gathered to celebrate 60th birthdays. The lodge feels very secluded with breathtaking views. The sauna was relaxing and the lodge was comfortable. The location is close to hiking, restaurants and shopping.

Amazing birthday week

An absolutely perfect location for 14 of us celebrating a friend's big birthday. Property is beautiful inside and out, lots of great hiking nearby, and the owners were very responsive to the relatively minor issue we encountered when the front door lock failed in the locked position.

Great location - very enjoyable stay

Large and roomy as advertised. Great location about halfway between Duluth and Grand Marais. Good cooking facilities. Nice touches like games and puzzles. Comfortable beds. Tesla charger in the garage. If we had any complaints - some bedrooms had better ventilation than others and sometimes it felt like the mosquitoes knew how to get around the screens. A “bug zapper “ would have been useful. But these are fairly minor issues - overall it was a great stay! We would do it again if we are in the same area.

The house for groups!!

There was 15 of us in this wonderful (and large) house. We had plenty of room to spread ourselves around, a large dining room, very nice screened porch and also one not screened in. The upstairs bedrooms had balconies. The location allowed easy day trips up and down the north shore. If you have a group this is the place on the North Shore! The owners respond quickly to any questions you have.

Best small wedding venue!

Photos do no justice to this property. It is absolutely breathtaking. Hosts do a great job of setting you up for success and are very fast to respond to questions. I cannot say enough good about this. The price may seem steep... But once you get here you'll be like, "that's all it is a night?" Considering how many people can sleep/split costs/ the space you get. It is very easy to hang out with a big group as well as to get away for alone time. For our trip we rented for 6 nights and got married in the middle of that rental, then stayed and hung out up the shore with family. We had to do VERY LITTLE to up the aesthetic to wedding level. This rental was a serious treat. Don't even consider hesitating. Just book it. And then there's also a sauna... Mind blown all week long. Such a lovely place.
