Tettegouche Lodge is a secluded 32-acre property near Finland, MN with a spacious 8-bedroom, 7-bathroom vacation rental house nestled into the hills three miles inland from Lake Superior. A spectacular stretch of the Baptism River runs through the property directly below the Lodge with ideal, private fly fishing locations and a swimming hole. Tettegouche (pronounced Tet-a-gooch) means "gathering place" in French and with a capacity of up to 18 guests, the Lodge is perfect for multi-generational or multi-family North Shore vacations, yoga or corporate retreats, intimate Northwoods weddings, writing, art or photography workshops, and book club or scrapbooking getaways.

We have a 6-night minimum rentals mid-June to mid-August, late August and holidays are 4-nights, and reservations the rest of the year only require a three-night minimum stay.

We had the most amazing weekend at the Tettegouche Lodge for my daughter's wedding. We had more than enough room for 17 adults and an infant. The lodge had everything we needed and more. The hosts are responsive and friendly. The property is so beautiful and made the perfect backdrop for her wedding. The fall colors and perfect fall weather made it even better.

This property and the owners are spectacular! The property is beautiful and was perfect for our group of 16 adults. Lots of room to spread out with several eating and gathering areas in the home. Centrally located for easy access to hiking, bike trails, and restaurants. We loved the sauna and sitting out by the fire or on the deck listening to the babbling sounds of the Baptism River. So peaceful! We had everything we needed and more! The owners are very responsive and accommodating. Will definitely be staying here in the future!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this property. We booked this location to host our wedding and have family stay with us all weekend. The hosts were so accommodating. They let us come and look at the home in advance to help us prepare for our wedding which was extremely helpful. The property itself is stunning. Its nice and quite and feels like your own piece of the North Shore. All of our guests loved staying on site and said 'pictures don't do it justice'. The kitchen is the most stocked kitchen I've ever experienced at a VRBO. They really think of everything. We've already talked about booking again in the future to celebrate wedding anniversaries and have everyone come stay with us again. Would highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our time at Tettegouche Lodge! We had a gathering with family ages 2-72 and it couldn't have been better. The house had everything we needed and the owners were even kind enough to drop off air purifiers for us when the air quality was supposed to be bad (luckily it stayed fair throughout our stay). We spent a ton of time by/in the river. The location was fantastic for doing all of the things that the North Shore has to offer. I can't say enough positive things about this property!!

I just cannot say enough good things about this rental. We’ve rented many homes and apartments over the years and this is hands down the best one we’ve stayed at. Beyond the amazing location and beautiful home, there were so many thoughtful touches and furnishings. There is a small herb garden on the deck for cooking, walking sticks and umbrellas at the entrance, record player, lanterns to carry from the house to the sauna, orange vests for walks during deer hunting season… they truly thought of everything. We bought food in Duluth and cooked at the lodge every night. The plentiful dishware and place settings made for such nice, cozy meals. When the BWCA fires were happening I emailed the owners for a status update and they were so helpful and mentioned that they had purchased additional air purifiers for the house to keep the inside air quality clean. We had the best stay— highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful weekend here. It is a beautiful property and great house that accommodates many and never feels crowded. We were very impressed with how well stocked and labeled the kitchen was. Great place for big gatherings. The property and views were beyond awesome.

The hosts were extremely helpful! There was more than enough space for our party of 17, ages 10-76. We had a blast sledding on the driveway and the peace and quiet was enjoyed by all! I would also recommend the bowling alley in Silver Bay for a close by option of fun.

Stunning North Shore retreat

Tettegouche Lodge is absolutely gorgeous, the photos don’t do it justice! This was the perfect place for our family gathering, the lodge has great communal spaces as well as privacy, with large bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms.

Unbelievably Perfect

This was the perfect lodge, property and location for our multi-generational family (ages 14 - 73) vacation. The place was both spacious and cozy, the view to the river was spectacular and the hosts were super responsive. There is plenty to do in the cabin and on the property, but also wonderfully located close to so many wonderful state parks.

Great Stay

We gathered to celebrate 60th birthdays. The lodge feels very secluded with breathtaking views. The sauna was relaxing and the lodge was comfortable. The location is close to hiking, restaurants and shopping.
