Beautiful cabin on Fay Lake in Long Lake

Built on a small hill, "Hillcrest" offers excellent views of beautiful Fay Lake. Located in the Nicolet National Forest, you have direct access to 100s of miles of snowmobile and ATV trails and endless opportunities for seasonal recreation, such as fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking, and biking in the spring and summer; leaf peeping and hunting in the fall. We also have a canoe and row boat for use! This is a beautiful cabin to make great memories with family and friends.

* There is no Wi-Fi on the property. We do have a smart TV that you are able to attach your hotspot. *Brand new washer & dryer as well as a brand new dishwasher, fridge and oven! Newly installed is a beautiful pier for fishing and relaxing!

Great family getaway!

Our family (ages 3-95) had a great time. The location was beautiful and quiet, and it was fun to see swans on the lake in the evenings. There was plenty of space for everyone. Thanks for a great stay!

Great spacious lake house!

Lovely large lake property, very secluded and private. Johanna was very responsive and helpful. I liked that there were several areas our large group could hang out in.

Relaxing Stay Up North

Group of friends enjoyed our time at the rental, where we had access to lots of accommodations provided by the host and the full resort next door. Property is large enough to hold our group of 8+ individuals, making it perfect for a group or family get together. Host was excellent in communication and thorough in providing us with helpful information for our stay! Would stay again!

Highly Recommend!

This is the perfect place to stay for a weekend get away. I went here over the Fourth of July with a few friends and it was so much fun! It was very peaceful and the property was very private which was a nice get away. While the lake actually on the property isn't the best for swimming, the one right down the road was perfect. There was also a nice beach that was very clean and easily accessible. The host was also wonderful and they were very prompt in answering every message I sent. I would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing time by the lake

If you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful time away from the crowds this is a perfect place! We had a great time unwinding and just relaxing by the lake. Kids enjoyed trips around the lake in the provided row boats and kayak. Johanna is a great host and was very responsive before and during the visit. Closest town is about 30minutes away and not open Late so just come prepared with any essentials.

In the end, it all worked out.

I will start by saying that the owner was very communicative and responsive from when we first made the booking up until our day of arrival - she gave some recommendations on local places to check out which I appreciated. Unfortunately, there were some significant hiccups along the way, the first being showing up to the property with the door ajar and house uncleaned from the previous renter - seems the cleaning crew didn’t show up as they claimed. The owner did work with us here, which I appreciated, but it was a bummer way to start the trip. The washing machine sporadically stopped working on and off through the weekend, so it took a while to clean all of the linens from the previous renters. One thing to note is this property only has 4 bedrooms, not 5 as listed - the entire upper floor is entirely open with three beds - this could be problematic for some. No Wi-Fi on the property as listed, either. We ended up enjoying the weekend, in spite of all of the above, and the owner really was good to work with. If the place had a little TLC to get rid of some carpet stains, fix a few closet doors and blinds, along with a reliable cleaning crew, it would really be a perfect getaway - beautiful views, very peaceful.

Northern Wisconsin UTV trail riding

We were extremely disappointed in the property. All the bedrooms on the main floor had been slept in and bedding not changed. The floors were dirty. Coffee pots were stored under cupboard with grounds in them and mold growing all over them. Bathtubs had rings. Metal staircase to enter was rusted. The owner seemed very nice and I suspect she hires a cleaning service, and she needs to fire them. If we had not had family arriving from far away and could have found another place, we would have. As it was, we washed and cleaned things as best we could. The property needs a real refreshening. I would recommend a dehumidifier in the basement as it smelled strongly musty. In addition, it should be advertised as a 4 bedroom since the bedroom upstairs is all open with no privacy. There weren't very many towels. The good news is there is a nice brand-new washer and dryer plus the refrigerator is new. The stove works well.

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation at Hillcrest. Fishing, hunting for frogs, a camp fire, and swimming off a rented pontoon were highlights of our weekend. Wild life included eagles, deer, a family of swans, lots of fish and the call of a loon. A nearby restaurant had the best Friday fish fry and pizza burgers ever! The 11 of us (from age 7 to 75) loved our time together at Hillcrest on Fay Lake.

Good getaway

Nice, clean property with great communication from property manager. Plenty of room for friends and family. Lake is beautiful, but pretty weedy by the property.

Great place and location in northern wisconsin

Absolutely loved my time here. The place was great, lots of space inside and amenities an enjoyable sun room and deck and lovely lake side area. The location was very peaceful and just the getaway I was looking for. The nights were quiet and I was blown away by the night sky filled with stars (not something I get to enjoy living near a major city). I would definitely reccomend and will stay again.

weekend getaway

The property was large enough to fit our family of 14. Fay Lake was a very nice lake to kayak at. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the lake was not swimmable. There is another lake close by, about 5 minutes, with a small beach. The kids enjoyed swimming there.

A Cheap Lakehouse Getaway up North

The property was overall pretty good. They provided a rowboat and canoe to use which was great because some of my friends were able to go out fishing on the lake because of it. It was a big house and pretty roomy. There was no wifi/ac which I'm not 100% sure was originally in the posting. One of the people who went on the trip wasn't going to go if there wasn't ac/wifi which leads me to believe that it was previously in the listing and removed. Overall we didn't really need air conditioning since it was pretty cool at night and there were plenty of fans for use. And didn't really need wifi, however I wasn't able to talk to the renter out there as I did not have service. Thankfully a few of my friends brought hot spots out which aided in the process. We had 9 people who came out. One of the bedrooms is in the basement and originally we were planning on having people stay in there. However, in the room over (which happened to be the garage), that's where they had bags of trash so one of the couples that came had to sleep on separate couches which was not ideal but they didn't seem to mind. If you're looking for a cheap getaway in a nice location in upper Wisconsin I would recommend this! Person who rented out to us was very nice and accomodating

Great place and location to get away from the city.

The whole family was please with the house and it’s location. Very quiet and relaxing but not completely isolated. Highly recommended if your looking to fish, hunt or just get away .
