THE BIRDHOUSE,... Quiet Country Home in the Bitterroot Valley.

Enjoy quiet days and star filled skies In this 1200 Sq Ft, two Bedroom, two bath Home. Its approximately 3 miles off the paved road in a private spacious county setting . This home is a prior Grandparents house, attached to the owners house BUT with entirely private entrances.
One large master Bedroom with a King Bed, rocking chair and a full bathroom. The second bedroom has a Queen bed, chairs and has an attached full bathroom. A large kitchen including a dishwasher, Keurig and drip coffee makers as well as everyday use amenities. Two VERY comfortable roll away beds, complete with bedding can accommodate two more individuals if needed.
The Living room Sports a Large smart screen TV, Full WIFI internet as well as a leather sectional couch with recliners and several chairs. The entire house hosts a nice collection of "museum like" glass cased Bird mounts and decor. A washer/Dryer room. A private fire pit stocked with firewood, Large spacious fields and private roads can all be enjoyed for exploring or walks.
The views of the mountains and fields as well as a great view of the dark star filled skies can be enjoyed off the elevated back deck and walkway. Comfortable chairs and a gas or charcoal grill are ready for your use.
Enjoy the QUIET....., no traffic, fantastic views, Cozy beds, a comfortable spacious floor plan are just a few of the amenities to be enjoyed.
As a notice of advice, this home is situated in the Sapphire Mountain foothills. From late October till Spring thaw an AWD or 4WD vehicle is advised. The roads are maintained and plowed as it is a residential area but a good traction vehicle is advised.

Fantastic! The BirdHouse is Incredible! There are places where you arrive and walk in and it is nice, then once in a while there are places where you walk in and sigh and feel "I am home" The host have thought of everything with a few little very nice surprises. Next time I should be so lucky!

Very nice house an accommodating for us. Bedrooms were large enough. And living room inviting. Kutcher was supplied well. The deck was our favorite, we loved watching the birds. Watching a bee fight for ownership of the hummingbird feeded with a persistent hummingbird was a delight.

Amazing Montana Oasis

My 87yo mother and I were looking for a place in the mountains and the Bird House delivered. Quiet and secluded but only 15mins from Florence it was a wonderful mix of dirty roads and nearby amenities like the Back Yard Taphouse. Dealing with the homeowners and their family was an easy text with quick response. We enjoyed exploring the chicken coop and tree house on the property. The house is well stocked with all the necessities in the kitchen and bathroom. There wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t provided. We loved our stay. As a note, as non-hunters, it took a minute to get used to the number and size of the taxidermy birds. They are clearly works of art and the kids enjoyed researching to determine the species on display.

Tranquil and comfortable

This is the most comfortable VRBO experience we have had. The beds, the size of the home, the private back porch, the AC…the host was also so helpful with info on local hikes and events. It was a perfect jumping off point to explore the Bitterroot Valley. We wound up extending our stay because we just weren’t ready to leave! Highly recommend.

Magical

Our stay at the Birdhouse was magical. The home is beautiful, cozy and extremely comfortable, with magnificent views, a spacious kitchen, and beautiful displays of our host's taxidermied birds that we loved looking at. The covered deck is spacious and perfect for grilling and a pleasant evening outdoors. We saw tons of birds visiting the feeders arrayed outside. Our son loved playing with Eugene's friendly and spirited dogs and looked forward to visiting the chicken coop every day. Our hosts were warm and gracious and welcomed us to wander the grounds. We could not have asked for a better place to stay during our visit to the Bitterroots.

5 Star Comfort

The Birdhouse is such a comfortable and relaxing place. The beds are great, living room is so inviting, kitchen is well stocked (even with fresh eggs), and the deck is such a joy for watching birds and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Eugene was quick to answer any questions and easy to connect with. And if that wasn't enough, we loved time our with the sweet dogs, Lacey and Tana. We highly recommend a stay here and hope to return.

Cozy place to stat

The Birdhouse was such a nice place to stay. We come to Montana every summer, with my parents. Everything was available for cooking at home. The hosts left very thoughtful guests. Wished we would have ate the elk that was left for us. We were in the area the fly fish the Bitterroot, and was within 45 minutes of some of the best fishing I’ve had in years. We’re all dog owners, and loved having theirs around to throw the frisbee. We heard such great things about the owners, unfortunately we didn’t get to meet them. Would definitely consider coming back there again next summer to stay. I’m a busy contractor in Hawaii, and was such a great place to disconnect from life’s daily stresses.

The Bird House exemplifies the passionately unique Vrbo experience. This is above and beyond what any hotel - or most vacation rentals can deliver. There is a thoughtfulness and focus on details that can not be copied by any chain. Not even the location. 5 miles out from the town of Florence and 20 or so from Missoula is a mountain retreat well worth the journey along the picturesque, winding unpaved roads. (Even those are smooth and well maintained!) Your well appointed deck overlooks beautiful mountains, fields, forest and a cozy fire pit area...and of course the birds visiting the grounds, bird houses and feeders. Inside, the decor is quality Mission-style furnishings in wood and leather with finer-than-museum-quality tableaus of native art and specimens of waterfowl and game birds - as well as other displays that you might find in a natural history museum. Even if bird taxidermy isn't your thing, you will appreciate the detail and artistry of these displays. The attention to detail at the Bird House goes well beyond the stunning displays and decor. Comfort, convenience and good old-fashioned thoughtfulness is everywhere. I've operated a 5-star rental for 6 years and know what it takes to deliver this level of convenience. The cupboards, coffee station and cooking areas are stocked with spices and more than basics. And it was done with pride – and a sense of kindness, hospitality experience and human decency. Bravo and thanks to these amazing fellow hosts!!!

Wonderful views and friendly hosts

We came to the area for my daughter’s wedding in Victor. We arrived Wednesday afternoon and despite the 4p check-in, we arrived a bit early and were warmly greeted by Tara and Lacy (dogs) and Eugene working in the yard. The unit is attached to the main house, but the hosts leave you alone unless you text them with a question. They answer quickly and directly. The house is adorned with many displays of Eugene’s work as a bird taxidermist, 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen and a private back deck surrounded with several wild bird feeders and a hummingbird feeder. The views are captivating and it’s peacefully quiet. Would highly recommend this property for anyone who is looking for peace and quiet.

Great location for getting away!

The hosts were friendly and accommodating, the vacation home was furnished nicely and well equipped, and the drive to the property was very scenic. One of the reasons we stayed here was so we could go on some day hikes in the Bitterroot Mountains, and we were able to drive to a couple different trail heads in 30 to 45 minutes.

Spectacular stay in the country

The pictures you see are exactly what the property is. It was immaculately clean and the refrigerator was stocked with some homemade treats. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. It was easy to find and wonderfully quiet.

Peaceful, relaxing getaway

This was our 2nd year staying at this property and we will be booking for next year. This is the best VRBO I have ever stayed at. Clean, comfortable, quiet and the hosts are exceptional. The property is one-of-a-kind... it offers beautiful views, chickens and dogs to enjoy and the opportunity to bird watch as the property hosts bird feeders just off the deck. The whole vibe of the property is welcoming, relaxing and makes me wish I could stay a whole week! Thanks again, Eugene and Carolyn.

My Wife Carolyn and I and our Three children have lived here since 2001, we built the residence that is being rented in 2006 as a ''Grandparents house" a fully separate, connected by a laundry room residence. They have since moved on and we transformed the home into a very comfortable rental.
I have a full time Bird taxidermy studio on the residence, You are welcome to come visit if I'm in. There are nearly 40 acres of land this rental sits on so its private, Chickens are cooped nearby. Elk Deer etc are commonly seen. walking the property is permitted as well as all the connecting roads The VRBO is off the paved road about three miles, in the Winter 4WD or AWD is recommended. We enjoy the people that visit but offer full privacy. You can reach out to us at anytime if we are home, which is most of the time.
