Unique mountain getaway! Hot tub, game room, year round community pool!

Welcome to The Ellijay Octagon! We know that you will enjoy your one of a kind stay located in the Coosawattee River Resort. Enjoy a mountain experience just 6 miles from Downtown Ellijay, a few miles from several wineries and much more! You are near hiking, kayaking and tubing if you’re feeling adventurous.

Come play in our 2 bedroom /2 bath cabin with a bunk room giving you plenty of space for the whole family to spread out! The main level has a cozy screened in porch with a daybed, bistro table and egg chair to relax in. All bedrooms and baths are located on the main level along with a fully equipped eat in kitchen with seating for 6. Both bedrooms have a smart tv with Netflix, Hulu, HBOMax and Disney+ and built in usb on both side tables for easy charging. The basement is a dream for kids and kids at heart with ping pong, board games, 2 arcade machines and a seating area with a smart tv. The upstairs loft has room for everyone to curl up and watch a movie or send the kids downstairs while the grown ups enjoy card games on our convertible poker/bumper pool/ dining table. The entrance to the 7 foot slide is also in the loft - weeee!

From the upper deck you can enjoy the panoramic views of the forest, full of deer and other wildlife from the 6 person jetted hot tub. There is also a firepit so you can sit by the fire or roast marshmallows under the stars. Grill out with the charcoal grill and enjoy outdoor eating at the picnic table.

Coosawattee River Resort is home to 3 pools - one heated indoor pool that it open year round and 2 outdoor pools that open May 31st. A one day amenities pass is included with your stay and additional days may be purchased at $15/day.

Amazingly fun cabin

The kids loved the slide, beanbags, arcade games, hot tub, going for a walk and seeing deer. This was the perfect getaway for a family of 7. Such a neat place to stay. We will definitely be back.

Fun stay!

My kids loved staying here! And the amenities with the indoor pool was a good option- most hikes are about 25-45 minutes away (or at least the ones we found on AllTrails app). We spent 1/2 a day over at Amicalola Falls. Plenty of fun things at the cabin to do for kids/family.

Kids obsessed with the slide!

Thank you for having us. We all had a great time and the location was beautiful. All the kids did was use the slide almost the whole time. Looking foward to another trip there in the future.

Loved the Octagon

We loved our stay at the Ellijay Octagon! The kids had a nonstop good time and it was fun to watch them really enjoy the family time. The place and neighborhood was great and close to all the N GA action. We’ll definitely be back. Easy process and everything was move in ready.

Great Get-away!

I brought my partner and our three kids (5, 7, 10) here for two nights to enjoy some time together. They LOVED the slide and could not get enough of the ping pong table and the retro-style arcade games! It was also their first experience with a hot tub and an indoor heated pool, so quite an adventure for everyone! The beds were pretty comfortable and it had all of the amenities you can expect in a Vrbo! We’d stay here again and recommend to our friends and family!

Perfect Vacation Spot

Our family of 6 LOVED staying at the Ellijay Octagon! There were so many fun things to do in just the house alone that my kids didn’t even ask to leave the house for 2 days! It was very easy to communicate with the owner. The place was very clean and perfectly spacious. We loved all the games provided and movie/tv channels for some late nights. We plan to come back!

Perfect cabin for a family with children!

This cabin is absolutely perfect for a family with children! Our boys had the time of their lives playing on the slide and hanging out in the basement playing Pac-Man. Everything was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen was conveniently stocked with all the utensils I needed to cook our meals. The rec center where the indoor pool and other amenities are located was just a 3 minute drive. We were planning our next trip before we even left!

Just as advertised

We took two of our youngest grand children, ages seven and five year old boys .. had a blast! They loved the slide and the hot tub, and of course the indoor pool. On Easter Sunday, the rest of their family came up, and we had Easter lunch together and hung out. The older grandchildren loved the game room downstairs. We also enjoyed having access to the Disney stuff for the little ones. All in all a very quick, but memorable trip over spring break!

3 stories of FUN!

We visit Ellijay twice a year and stay somewhere new each time. The kids had a BLAST! The check in process was smooth as usual with Coosawattee’s front ranger station type setup. And access to the actual property was short and simple. We also appreciated the proximity to the main indoor pool, putt putt and arcade. But we only visited those amenities once this time because the Octagon shaped cabin had so much fun inside! The hot tub, the SLIDE, poker with friends, arcade games, board games, foosball and so on. As parents, we appreciated that the kitchen and main area was on a different level than the video games, the kids loved having their own basement to play in. The coffee setup was a lovely surprise full of Kcups and syrups and cute mugs. If you don’t like Teflon pans then I’d suggest bringing your own, they need to be replaced for sure. Otherwise the kitchen seemed to have a close to full setup! Also I really noticed how clean the place was, even the shower drain! The thermostat worked well and the closets had extra blankets and pillows, so cozy. The front porch made for a wonderful place for morning tea and devotions and we liked the backyard a lot too. The beds were comfortable and sturdy and each of us liked the loft area with huge beanbags! Our kids slept well after going up the stairs and barreling down the slide. We never ran out of towels or soap in our 3 night stay, it was amply supplied. For the price, this place was great! Highly recommend

Great stay

We had a great stay at The Ellijay Octagon. Our kids loved all the games and slide. From one parent to another the slide did get annoying after a little while, haha. Overall we had a great time. We found family friendly hiking nearby. We used the pool and played putt putt at the rec center. We even got to see a family of deer each day.

Slide is cool for kids

Octagon Elijay has everything you need. Plenty of game space, cool slide, hot tub, and close to town. The Rec center is close by and has a large indoor pool, game room, tennis courts, and exercise room. Plenty to keep the kids busy at this location.

Not what it seems

The area at the bottom of the slide is noticeably smaller than the photos. The games are missing pieces and the ping pong balls were kinda crushed. Games and stuff need a refresh. Of 4 TV's, only 2 had working remotes so we couldn't watch movies upstairs and had to share between the two bedrooms. The hot tub smelled bad and was extremely hot despite changing the temp. The beds were comfortable. Stools at the bar need tightened as they were pretty unstable. The unit was clean but the hot tub dissapointment justified the review of cleanliness. We were looking forward to using it.

This guest smoked in our property and checked out over an hour past check out time. Once I sent the fee for breaking the house rules they sent this review in retaliation. They never responded to any messages, nor did they ever reach out with any issues. As you can see from all of our other reviews, I am always and immediately available as a host.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

This stay was my favorite family vacation of all time!!!!! It was by far the most kid-friendly place we’ve ever stayed! The kitchen was well stocked. I am on a special diet and had no problem making my food. There were so many activities to do as a family! We played video games, corn hole, ping-pong, and watched movies. There are so many streaming services!!! We spent hours in the hot tub. We roasted marshmallows, and played at the rec center. The rec center had mini golf, a heated pool, an arcade, and pickle ball. My husband worked out while the boys and I played in the arcade. Do yourself a favor, and book this place! My family will remember this trip for the rest of our lives!

Perfect getaway

This place is absolutely amazing! The Octagon is our favorite cabin we have ever stayed in with so much to do you don’t even have to leave the community. Plenty of fishing spots, lots of wildlife, beautiful walks around the community. My only regret is not staying longer.

great get away

Our family had a wonderful time. The kids loved the slide and the games. We enjoyed the hot tub and the wildlife. We saw wild turkey, woodpeckers, hawks, and countless deer. Christiana was very responsive and everything was great. The kitchen sink had a little dry food in it when we arrived but that was no big deal. I wish the showers were larger and could have used a few extra towels but we will be back. Great get away.

In Town for a Wedding

My family and in-laws stayed for week. The Ellijay Octotogon was wonderful for my children. My 4 year old loved the slide and my kids loved the basement. My in-laws, who have limited mobility, did have difficulty with stair. And since there is no comfortable seating or television on the main floor it was not a fit for them. I have to say the owners were wonderful! They offered their own accounts to HBO max and even let us know about a bear warning, which was fun! We had a great time!
