Quiet, private, and surrounded by towering trees, it’s the perfect retreat for morning coffee on the porch, cozy evenings by the fire, and restful nights away from the noise of everyday life. Please note, this cottage is situated on a larger property that includes two other detached residences.



The Space:

Get back in touch with nature in a farmhouse-style property next to abundant woodlands and hiking trails. It's an airy, skylit space with honey-colored hardwood floors and a well-equipped kitchen. Bathe in a claw-foot tub and relax on a wooden porch.



Though you’ll feel tucked away in solitude, you’re still just minutes from downtown Santa Cruz, beaches, hiking trails, and local favorites. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway, creative retreat, or simply a peaceful place to unwind, this light-filled cottage offers the calm, comfort, and quiet that guests return for again and again.



- Sleeps up to 4 (with a sofa sleeper). This is ideal for a family with young kids sleeping on the sofa sleeper.

- No gatherings or parties allowed (strictly enforced)

- 24/7 surveillance recording devices monitor the exterior of this home for safety.

- The property exterior is serviced weekly by landscapers and regularly by pest services.

- Smart TVs with streaming capabilities (no local channels or cable).

- NO PETS

- Please be aware that cell service can be spotty at our home. You can still make calls over Wi-Fi during your stay.

- Neighbors are roughly 50-100 ft away on the same, shared property

The Neighborhood:

The Santa Cruz Mountains offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. This lush and forested region is a nature lover's dream, featuring towering redwood groves, hiking and biking trails, and pristine state parks like Big Basin Redwoods State Park. With picturesque vistas, it's an idyllic setting for outdoor activities, including birdwatching and camping. The Santa Cruz Mountains also boast a thriving wine scene, with vineyards and wineries producing exceptional varietals. It's a place to unwind, disconnect, and find solace in nature's beauty, making it a perfect retreat for those seeking tranquility and outdoor adventure.



This is a very quiet, family neighborhood. It is not a good place for gatherings or parties so please keep that in mind when booking this home. We are very respectful of our neighbors and will not tolerate loud noise past curfew and additional guests at the property.



Getting Around:

Branciforte Drive connects to all the main roads and is very close to both Highway 17 (about 30 minutes to San Jose) and Highway 1 (about 10 minutes to sister beach towns like Capitola).

Other Things to Note:

- Our beautiful location means cell service can be a bit spotty, but you’ll still be able to make calls over Wi-Fi to stay connected during your stay.

- A friendly family lives in the main house across from the guest house, adding a welcoming neighborhood feel, and there’s another rental nearby that you might notice guests coming and going from.

- This is a shared property with a shared parking area. You’ll have one designated spot on the property.

- Nestled in the redwoods and set behind a gated fence, the home offers a serene forest escape. However, the road outside can see occasional fast-moving cars, so if you’re visiting with small children, please be mindful if the gate is open.

- We have landscapers, pest service, and other property maintenance done on a weekly basis. You may see or hear these service professionals during your stay as they let themselves into the backyard to service as needed. Please be sure to ask about this before booking if you think it might be an issue for you.

- TV is a smart tv with streaming capabilities. There are no cable or local channels.

- The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety.

- We are required to stick to our cancellation policy and we suggest adding trip insurance for any last minute issues that may impact your travel (Weather, Illness, etc). We are not able to cancel, move or refund bookings that do not fall in our cancellation policy for any reason.



**Booking Requirements**



To help ensure a safe and secure experience for our guests and homeowners, the primary guest is required to complete identity verification and sign O'Neal Vacation Rentals' Vacation Rental Agreement after booking confirmation. Instructions will be provided shortly after your reservation is confirmed.



Guests wishing to review the Vacation Rental Agreement before booking may find it on the O'Neal Vacation Rentals website under the "Vacation Rental Agreements" section.



By booking, you acknowledge and agree to complete all required pre-arrival documentation. Failure to complete required documentation may affect your ability to access the property and may result in cancellation of the reservation where permitted by the booking platform and applicable policies.

We loved staying in this house. It was the perfect place for the two of us to get away for our anniversay and also celebrate Thanksgiving. The house was cozy and all the recommendations were excellent. We will be going to Lilian's for their eggplant parmesan the next time we are in town. The only downside for us is that most likely when we stay in the Santa Cruz are we'll have a dog, so we can't stay at this home again. Thank you for a great vacation!
