Unit 2 is our largest one bedroom cabin, one bathroom, kitchen, dining and living room unit right on the beach. Part of a six unit resort with individual deck, grill, picnic table and chairs. Resort shared fire pit, kayaks and beach. Beautiful sunrise views and great family memories await you Here On Lake Huron!

Always a Pleasure

This is our second time staying at the Lazy Fish Resort. We LOVED the kitchen and bathroom renovations. The place has a nice homey feel. Any complaint I would have is out of the owner’s power ( other guest). We consider this our special place and will totally stay here again.

Just What We Needed

We weren't planning on staying inside very much, so although it was a little tight for two adults and two kids under 12, it wasn't a problem at all. Loved that we could walk right out to the beach and there was plenty of outdoor seating available. We also appreciated the kayaks and life jackets available. The location was really good too, a short drive from Oscoda and Tawas.

Fall in Oscoda

As referenced in other reviews, curb appeal is low and actually doesn't represent this hidden gem!!! This little set of cabins is absolutely perfect and reminded me of summers spent in Alpena as a child. Very clean & cozy, spectacular location on Lake Huron. Tim & Nancy are great hosts! Highly recommend staying at the Lazy Fish!!! Fabulous stay 😊

The property has seen its days but good enough to enjoy being right on the beach. Everything was clean inside and outside. We were able to make our own meals with the kitchen equipped with everything you need. The bathroom was renovated and very nice which was a huge plus. Would definitely come back. We enjoyed it very much!

Romantic Get Away

We celebrated our 10th anniversary here. Sweet memories of our wedding in Hawaii. The beach, cozy rustic cabin and such wonderful hosts. The other guests in other cabinets were so friendly. We enjoyed the time we got to spend together away from the hectic days. Thank you

Nice get away right on the water!

Beautifully situated steps from Lake Huron and only 10 minutes from town. We got unit #2 which seemed to be the bigger of the units. Had a living room, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and sitting room all separate.

Easter Weekend

We ended up in Miami Beach Cabin 10 which is a two bedroom cabin with a large deck right on Lake Huron. This was a pre-season stay and the rest of the cabins were mostlY empty. The place itself was small, but definite up-north/cabin feel. Great views, nice beach. There were some missed connections on checking in, but a call to the owners got it straightened out right away. Some suggestions: would be great if there was a coat/shoe closet, also the addresses was hard to find.

A great getaway! But a couple of small things

Wonderful place, with great view and friendly hosts. But bring your own soap because they do not provide it. The toilet seat doesn’t stay up, and the bed has one of those plastic covers on it. Finally you will hear more road noise then waves. We’d probably still go back because it was still a lovely place with no one else there.

Right on the water!

Love the location, our 7 month old lab LOVED being this close to the water! The cabin was clean and spacious with a newly remodeled bathroom. My only complaint was the walk from the car to the cabin. Some kind of sewer work is being done on the back side of the cabins which made getting to ours a bit difficult. The ground was all torn up and not easy to walk on. I tripped twice trying to get to our cabin. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Relaxing getaway

The place was quaint, decorated cute, although still in the middle of some updates. The internet was down throughout our stay, but the manager was trying to get it fixed. This was my first time traveling with my dog and it was perfect! He loved playing in the sand! My biggest complaint was the lack of heat and insulation. We were cold and the traffic noise from the road was so loud it made the furniture shake. Provided space heaters helped. The location is close to town and the beach is breathtaking!

Nice, needs maintenance

Place was cute, rustic, literally on the lake, very well stocked. I think the maintenance/housekeeping crew needs replacing though. The grounds were very overgrown/unkept and while we were the only ones there for two days when we arrived toys and trash and random stuff littered the sand area and decks. As well as sand in our bed (wondering if just so sandy the washer may always be full of sand?) However the owners responded quickly politely and sent someone to change sheets asap. Despite the messiness and the understandable dampness it’s a nice place with decent pricing and will probably be back with our dog and bedding from home

A-dora-ble

Decided last minute to escape to the shores of Lake Huron. Money was tight. No big deal. Except. This was a big deal. Excellent price. Excellent location. Excellent host. Cutest little cottage. Literally Lake Huron is right out the door. Fire pit made it easy to relax with the neighbors. Cute cottages up and down the strip. But even with our neighbors, our little area remained quiet as the holiday weekend crowds gathered just a ways down. The last night there, we shared a fire and smores with our couple neighbors. We watched distant fireworks and laughed at how small of a world it is because one couple lived in my hometown. Biggest complaint was the bed wasn't too comfortable. Very firm. DO bring your toiletries. Pro-mom tip. Bring baby powder. Sprinkle it on your legs and tootsies to help get the sand off! Helps lower the amount of sand brought into the cottage!

Nice view and beach, but not great

We stayed here for 3 nights, reviews online looked ok and want we a place directly in the beach. We arrived and parking was terrible, there was no markings on where to park and it didn’t help other guests parked terribly. The path to the house was very overgrown. The deck was also in terrible shape with lots of overgrown weeds and plants. The beach luckily was decently clean, but you can tell no one does regular cleaning/maintenance of the property and beach. The inside of the house wasn’t very clean, I get it was on a beach but you would think the windows and table would be vacuumed before guests arrived.we opened the windows to get fresh air but since there is no air conditioning we used the ceiling fans. There was a standing fan available, but you could only feel air flow when you put your hand up to it even on high. The couch is also a futon, and it was not comfortable. The pillows also are in terrible shape, with stains on a pillow itself and one was falling apart. Again, beach was nice and sand was soft with no rocks and there were beach chairs available. The house is directly on the beach, but the property is not maintained well at all.

A Gem!

If what you're looking for is just a nice and quiet getaway with a great view, this is perfect. We got to see the sunrise over Lake Huron each morning and had a great space to relax in during the day with immediate beach access. The night sky is also pretty clear in this area. The value of this place is well worth it. Will probably be calling them back again some weekend when we need another escape for a bit.

End of Summer stay

Our family had the best time ever! A perfect cottage for our family and puppy. We felt at peace here

The inside of this cottage is amazing and beautiful. The beach is right out your front door and we spent so much time just hanging out. We brought our dog and he had fun in the water. You are very close to restaurants and things to do. Watching the sunrise was amazing. Tim and Nancy are so nice and make you feel so welcomed. Our cottage had a stove and fridge so we could make meals and not have to eat out. It just felt like home for the week and we wished we could have stayed longer. At night we got to sit around a campfire and watch shooting stars. We will definitely come back next year!! Thank you for letting us stay and you have done so much to update and make them feel like a home.

Perfect Spot on Lake Huron

I’m so glad I found The Lazy Fish. We were in unit 2, and it was perfect for my boyfriend and I. The beach and the view of Lake Huron was worth every single penny, and it was the perfect location between Oscoda and Tawas. We’re already making plans to come back next summer.
