1794 Pioneer House - Renovated, No Cleaning Fee

The Pioneer House is a unique survivor from Vermont’s earliest days. 100% solar powered (panels located on owner’s nearby farm) with zero carbon footprint. This classic center chimney cape, sitting on 12 acres, has been fully and lovingly restored, preserving the best of the old with state of the art all new heating and AC, along with a custom kitchen and 1.5 baths. The property also has a new deep artesian well. The 2 bedrooms feature comfortable, new queen sized beds with quality bedding and linens.

This newly renovated home built in 1794 has much of the original restored interior intact. Kitchen features granite countertops and custom maple cabinets. Access to upstairs bedrooms is by a steep stairway (10 steps.) This house is not suitable for small children or those who have difficulty climbing stairs. Beautiful backyard with fire pit and gas grill. Please note, the interior fireplaces may not be used by renters (prohibited by insurance company.) Property has high speed fiber optic internet. There is one external security camera on driveway side of house. We have a strict maximum of 4 guests in this rental.

A stay in a historic home

Stayed here for a nice weekend. Philip was an amazing host, everything was very well kept and available. The house is fantastic and they have put a lot of love into caring for it I would gladly stay again when an escape is needed

Lovely Remote Home

I took a solo trip up to VT for some R&R. This home was so cozy and convenient. Very clean, the bed was so comfortable, and the check in / check out process couldnt have been easier. Would absolutely stay again!

Secluded VT Getaway

Beautiful location that is away from the hustle and bustle of daily life but conveniently located between Chester and Springfield. Definitely worth the trip if you are looking to feel refreshed and rejuvenated. The home and the history of it are a bonus and it is clear a lot of work went into preserving such a beautiful home.

AMAZING AND WONDERFUL STAY!!

Property is EXACTLY as advertised and even more beautiful in person. Incredibly well restored Historic property with every modern amenity/upgrade you could imagine or need. Has both heat and air conditioning (and we needed both). Property manager and owner were incredibly responsive to the few questions we had. Property was more than ready when we arrived and owner/manager went out of their way to welcome us to their Vermont paradise. Could not have had a better experience and shall return. Thanks for the wonderful week in Green Mountain country!!

Pioneer House Review

We loved the Pioneer House. The hosts were communicative and gave us all the information we needed before our stay. The house and property were just perfect for us. They clearly put an emphasis on cleanliness and provided everything we needed for a one week stay. The location was fantastic, with easy access to Rockingham, Chester, and Springfield (as long as you are not afraid of dirt roads). Overall, I rate this property a 5 and hope to be able to stay there again when we are in VT.

Step back in time.

Lovely home in a great setting. The home was comfortable and clean. It was so interesting to stay in such an old house. Beautiful old floors and timber frame. We loved it.

Wonderful, relaxing stay

Our second time at this property and it was even better than the first. The house was wonderful and cozy from the moment we stepped in. Appliances are excellent and beds are super comfortable. Fall colors and scenery were amazing. Thanks again for another wonderful stay.

Wonderful Stay

We spent a very enjoyable week at the Pioneer House. It exceeded our expectations. The house was full of cozy charm, with all of the modern conveniences one would hope for. The house is thoughtfully appointed, from sunscreen and spa masks for guests to use to stocked firewood for the fire pit. The generous hosts had thoughtful welcome gifts waiting for us upon our arrival—including locally made cheese, coffee and beer, as well as fresh cut flowers from the garden and several bottles of wine. We hated to leave….and can’t wait to return.

Wonderful historic home

This amazing house was exactly as pictured and even better in person. So many historic details overlayed with wonderfully updated kitchen and bathrooms. Spacious, comfortable bedrooms with an awesome kitchen that had everything we could have asked for. We took full advantage of the wonderful welcome gift of food and drink that awaited us. Communication with the property manager was timely and super helpful. Since we have family in the area, we would definitely return to this fabulous property.
