Lairds Landing is located along the top of Cordillera Mountain which is a one-of-a-kind location that affords its guests wide open mountain-top views and a glimpse of Broken Bow Lake. Only a select number of cabins are found in Cordillera and this location is a hidden favorite for the more discriminant traveler. Very few cabins can compete with the large open-area and breathtaking views this pristine property and this unique upscale location offers. Unlike so many of the crowded cabins in Broken Bow that are located on 1-acre home sites, Lairds landing rests high on an open mountain-ridge beneath 3.5 acres and fronts to the Ouachita National Forest. Your drive to this cabin will be paved roads even as you make the assent off 259A into the Cordillera outback and up the mountainside. It’s common to see packs of deer and other wildlife as you travel up this terrain. As you make your way up to the top ridge keep your eyes peeled for the cerulean waters of the beautiful Broken Bow Lake dotted with its tiny islands and large pines. Once you reach your location, you will be greeted by a new concrete driveway that nicely accents the home and provides the needed amount of parking space and a great turnaround for those traveling with watercraft.
This heavenly perch is a fantastic location to take-in nature, listen to the wind as it gently caresses the pines and the hardwoods or just unwind on one of the three huge patio’s that look out over the ridge tops of Cordillera. Each patio location features different views and furniture layouts. The front porch is a beautiful place to enjoy your coffee in the early morning while watching for dear and raccoons as they return to their hiding places in the forest. The largest open and uncovered patio rests against the west side of this residence and overlooks the beautiful hand-laid stone fire pit. This location is a wonderful place to sit during the Golden-Hour of the day to watch the sun as it eloquently disappears beneath the hilltops. Ample seating and tabletop space room for food, wine, and friendly conversation! Finally, a bit later in the evening, move your party to the covered rear patio section of this continual flow of what feels like an unlimited expanse of patio surface. The rear patio looks out to the jacuzzi gazebo that over-hangs the open ridge of the mountaintop and highlights a beautiful stone fireplace with spearhead design above the mantle and is a subtle reminder of the Choctaw Indians who used to live and hunt in these hills.
You will be pleasantly amazed when you enter this well-designed abode. The twenty-five-foot cathedral vaulted ceiling is complimentary of the large, tall windows that readily accommodate the outdoor light and pull nature directly into your living space! This large living area is combined with a chef’s kitchen that houses a huge six-foot by twelve-foot solid slab of 3cm granite that serves as its kitchen island. This culinary workspace also delivers a five-burner gas cooktop and a double-oven to provide your party with everything they will need to create their own special delicious masterpieces so remember to bring your favorite foods. The eighty-inch TV, the natural stacked-stone fireplace, and the huge pine rafters above are effortlessly seen from anywhere in this grandiose living area. The interior design is a classic farmhouse with American Indian accents.
The bedrooms branch from both sides of the great-room design. Two bedrooms, One with a king bed and other with a queen bed, share a Jack & Jill bath, and the master bedroom with a king bed is located opposite side of the living area with its own stacked stone fireplace. These 3 bedrooms sleep 6 comfortably and all have lofty ceilings, dormer windows, and walk-in closet space. The bathrooms are surfaced with thick timeless slate tiles and heavy cabinets that surround you with rustic luxury. You will also find another full bath next to the kitchen, two rollaway beds and a blow up bed to accommodate a total of 8-10 guests.
For those of you that like to partake in friendly competition, you will find a twelve-foot-long shuffleboard table in the main living area! If you’re a lover of the outdoors, this cabin also features outdoor games and the ability to create great off grid hiking trails that will take you directly down to the prettiest parts of the upper Mountain Fork River. Once you return home from your Broken Bow Adventures, enjoy campfires, S’mores, stargazing, hot tub, good-eats, and family fun when you visit Lairds Landing. This cabin is sure to please!
